Chapter 655: Chapter 655: Late Night Amusement Park_1
Qin Sisi was immediately stuck on how to respond to that question. The answer should be no love, right? But looking at the little one’s eager eyes, Qin Sisi found it hard to utter those words.
After agonizing for what felt like ages, Qin Sisi cautiously replied, "Your mom was hurt deeply. If your dad was someone she loved and who loved her back, then I believe she would’ve loved you."
That was the best answer she could come up with.
The little one blinked its eyes, which were no bigger than slits. Its mood was neither sad nor joyous.
With a hint of confusion in its voice, it said, "I think I understand a bit, but not fully. However, it doesn’t matter anymore. She’s gone now, vanished from this world forever, right?"
Qin Sisi nodded and then shook her head, explaining, "That’s not really accurate. She’s gone now, but she will return in a thousand years."
The little one seemed deep in thought, but said nothing.
Seeing that the child yearned for maternal love, Qin Sisi tentatively asked, "If you miss her a lot, and in a thousand years, I can let you continue as her child."
"Do I need to give you my Soul Power first?" the little one asked seriously, its eyes shifting.
Although it was an independent ghost, it had always resided within Feng Jingyuan and was well aware of the deal between its mother and Qin Sisi.
Qin Sisi was at a loss for words.
She could usually persuade ordinary ghosts to carry out trades with her. As for malicious ghosts, she could threaten or entice them.
But facing the innocent little one before her, she found it impossible to talk about trading for Soul Power.
Qin Sisi looked at Ye You, her eyes filled with a gentle plea.
Ye You hesitated, then spoke softly, "You handle it."
Having been together for so long, he knew that dealing with all sorts of ghosts had hardened Qin Sisi somewhat, but he still noticed the softness deep within her heart. That’s why he couldn’t refuse her request.
Qin Sisi’s eyes softened immediately, a hint of a smile playing on her lips.
She lowered her gaze to the little one looking at her and said softly, "You don’t have to give me your Soul Power. I’m willing to help you unconditionally. However, Soul Power is critical to me, so you can’t stay with me too long. I still need to go out and find more ghosts."
The little one stared at Qin Sisi for a long while, its voice childishly questioning, "Since you don’t want to be my mother, how should I address you?"
Qin Sisi answered with a smile, "My surname is Qin. You can call me Aunt Qin."
The little one sweetly said, "Aunt Qin, can you play with me? If you make the playtime fun, I’ll give you my Soul Power."
"Ah?" Qin Sisi’s face instantly froze, and she started to feel torn again.
Now that they were out of Spirit Gathering Pills, if she took this little one’s Soul Power, it would have to wait a thousand years before it could be reincarnated again.
An infant of only three months who hadn’t even seen the world yet was expelled from it. Wasn’t it too cruel to make it wait in the vast darkness for a millennium?
Qin Sisi sighed, "Little guy, I don’t want your Soul Power. Let me send you off to reincarnation."
But the little one vigorously shook its oversized head in disagreement. Frightened, Qin Sisi hastily held the sphere more tightly to calm it down, fearing the huge head might fall off its small body.
After using its body to express disagreement, the little one used its childish voice to implore, "Please, Aunt Qin, take me out to play. I’ve never played before!"
Faced with the little one’s plea, Qin Sisi softened. It didn’t seem to be such a big deal to take it out once for a day of fun.
So Qin Sisi responded, "Alright, then. I’ll take you to the amusement park."
"Yay!" The little one cheered, bouncing in mid-air inside its bubble.
Qin Sisi watched it, smiling, then turned to Ye You and asked softly, "Can you accompany us to the amusement park?"
Ye You raised an eyebrow internally. ’Us’? Qin Sisi had already formed an ’us’ with someone else, making him an outsider.
When she noticed Ye You not responding, Qin Sisi extended her hand and gently tugged at his furry paw, looking at him expectantly.
She couldn’t possibly walk such a long distance, and if she wanted to fly using the Wings of Rainbow, she’d need Ye You’s Invisible Bubble to hide their traces.
With a sigh of resignation, Ye You jumped onto Qin Sisi’s shoulder and murmured, "Let’s go."
Qin Sisi coolly jumped off the balcony, summoned the Wings of Rainbow while hidden inside the Invisible Bubble, and soared into the vast night sky with the little one.
The little one looked around in wonder, issuing excited laughs and shouts. It tried to open its eyes as wide as it could, but they remained as small slits.
Qin Sisi’s spirits also lifted, "Little one, why don’t we give you a name now?"
The little one was an unwanted fetus, so it was certain to not have a name.
Clapping its hands, the little one answered, "Yes, what do adults typically call their children?"
Thinking for a moment, Qin Sisi said, "Newborns typically are called ’baby’ or ’baobei’."
"Okay, then I’ll be called Baby." The little one quickly made its decision.
Even though the name choice was rather impromptu, seeing how happy the little one looked, Qin Sisi, of course, had no objections.
"Alright, then. Baby it is." She responded cheerfully and sped up towards the amusement park.
An hour later, Qin Sisi arrived at the largest amusement park in S City.
The park was closed at this hour, but there’d be some security personnel on patrol.
She lifted Ye You off her shoulder and gently placed him on the ground, saying in a soft voice, "I’ll take Baby to play. Dealing with the security personnel is your job."
Feeling wronged, Ye You grudgingly stared at Qin Sisi’s retreating back, longing to snatch the little one and throw it into her Portable Space, never to let it out again.
However, while this thought lingered, he swiftly cast his Magic skill and put all the security personnel in the park into a deep slumber that wouldn’t be disturbed by even thunder.
The carousel, water scooters, Ferris wheel, roller coasters, high slide...
Baby, who had never seen these before, was overwhelmed by the wide variety of amusement facilities. Feeling excited, it flew around the colorful amusement park, its bubble emitting a soft yet bright silver glow.
First, Qin Sisi took Baby on the carousel. Although they were just going in circles, Baby liked it so much that it played for nearly two hours.
Qin Sisi was about to feel dizzy from the constant spinning when Baby finally left the carousel reluctantly.
