Chapter 651: Chapter 651: Inviting the Cats Again_1
The deep night returned again and Ye You released the ghost of Feng Jingyuan from his portable space, continuing to search her brain for memories from after she drunkenly passed out.
With Ye You’s powerful skills and a bit of luck, he found the brain cells holding that fragment of memory two hours later.
"Bring me some blank paper," Ye You commanded Qin Sisi in a deep voice.
If Ye You was asking for paper, that meant he had found something. Qin Sisi looked pleased. She promptly got up and brought a stack of white paper for Ye You.
Ye You lifted a claw, casting a faint blue light onto the stack of white paper, which rested there momentarily.
When Ye You withdrew his magic light, an image of a person had appeared on the piece of paper.
It was a young man, around twenty years old, of average build, carrying a shoulder bag, with narrow, squinted eyes, thick lips, and a conspicuous feature—a black mole the size of a soybean on the center of his left cheek.
Qin Sisi flipped the paper and found that the same image was printed on all of the other sheets as well.
She held up a piece of paper and walked over to Feng Jingyuan, asking, "Look at this person, does he look familiar?"
Even though Ye You was sure this was the person, it would be better to have Feng Jingyuan confirm it herself.
Feng Jingyuan stared at the image for a while and finally shook her head dejectedly, "I can’t remember, I really don’t have any impression."
Qin Sisi felt a bit disappointed and turned to Ye You for advice.
Ye You once again channelled his magic’s power, activating the brain cells in Feng Jingyuan’s mind that held that fragment of memory. The cells became more and more active, transferring the residual memory to other brain cells, and thus making the memory clearer.
Feng Jingyuan reluctantly clenched her eyes shut, a pained expression appearing on her face.
Half an hour later, she opened her eyes, looked at the image on the paper with ragged breath, and said, "It’s him, I remember now, it’s him!"
Feng Jingyuan grabbed Qin Sisi’s arm beside her, pleading emotionally, "Please help me find him, to revenge. You must help me."
Qin Sisi patted her hand gently, soothingly responding, "Don’t worry, I’ll definitely find him. For now, why don’t you rest?"
Now that the target’s image had been confirmed, the next step was to track him down. Feng Jingyuan wouldn’t be of any help with this part, so it was better to store her away first.
Feng Jingyuan didn’t say anything. She merely sat there, panting heavily, staring blankly.
Qin Sisi squeezed her hand firmly, comforting her again, "I’ll notify you as soon as we find him, rest well so you’ll have the energy to take revenge when we do."
Feng Jingyuan’s expression softened slightly, and she gave a slight nod.
Qin Sisi then gave a nod to Ye You, who raised his claw in Feng Jingyuan’s direction, storing her in the portable space again.
After that, Ye You moved to the stack of paper displaying the man’s image. With a light touch of his paw, they all disappeared quietly without a trace.
Qin Sisi figured Ye You stored them in the portable space too. She turned to Ye You with a thoughtful look and asked, "Are we going to find the yellow cat?"
Ye You nodded and replied, "Yes, they are more efficient than us in searching for people. Check the refrigerator to see what food we have, I’ll bring some to them."
It was a universal truth; men die for wealth, and birds die for food. The charm of good food could motivate the hoard of cats.
After rummaging in the refrigerator for quite some time, Qin Sisi was able to find a piece of raw meat, a fish, and two sausages.
She put the food into a plastic bag, held it up to Ye You and apologized a bit, "This is all we got, just give it to them for now. I’ll buy more tomorrow."
"Alright," replied Ye You as he reached out, touched the plastic bag with his paw, and like the stack of white paper earlier, the plastic bag full of food suddenly disappeared.
Qin Sisi looked at him, a glint in her eyes. She asked with concern, "Are you going now?"
Ye You responded, "Yes, it will be less convenient once it’s daylight."
"Do you want to rest for a bit? Just now you..." Qin Sisi trailed off, wordlessly expressing her concern. She knew that gathering soul power was important, but she was also worried about Ye You’s health. Searching and then reactivating Feng Jingyuan’s memory must have drained a lot of spiritual power.
Ye You felt warm inside. He leaped into Qin Sisi’s arms, gave her a quick peck on her lips, and said softly, "Don’t worry, I’m fine. Get some sleep. Don’t wait up."
Qin Sisi didn’t say anything, just looked at Ye You with her shining, watery eyes.
Seeing the stubbornness in Qin Sisi’s eyes, Ye You sighed helplessly. Of course, he knew Qin Sisi was concerned and worried about him. How could she rest well when he was out?
Finally, Ye You gently stroked a hair falling over Qin Sisi’s ear and softly promised, "Wait for me then. I’ll be back soon."
Only then did Qin Sisi give a small nod.
Ye You left Qin Sisi’s embrace, opened the glass window, and jumped down.
Qin Sisi walked over to the window and looked outside, but Ye You was already invisible in the darkness.
Feeling a bit forlorn, she returned to the sofa, clutching a pillow and sitting there for a moment. Then, thinking it was a waste of time, she took out her magical notebook and began to read and memorize the contents.
Two hours later, Ye You returned. His landing on the windowsill was so light that it made no sound, and Qin Sisi didn’t notice; she was still engrossed in reading the magical notebook.
Seeing Qin Sisi’s serious reading, Ye You silently chuckled. His heart ached for her.
He quietly walked up to Qin Sisi, and his fluffy paw covered the magical notebook.
Only then did Qin Sisi realize that Ye You had returned.
"You’re back," said Qin Sisi, unable to hide the joy in her voice.
"Let’s go to sleep!" Ye You said, his voice deep and alluring.
A shiver ran down Qin Sisi’s spine, and her face reddened involuntarily.
The next day, Qin Sisi went to the market and bought some diced meat, as well as a bunch of small fish about ten centimeters long. She also purchased a considerable amount of cat food from a pet store.
That night, Ye You brought these supplies to the yellow cat, who distributed them to the rest of the cat population as payment.
So, the city’s cats launched another large-scale search operation.
However, Qin Sisi remained worried. After all, the incident concerning Feng Jingyuan had happened two years ago. She didn’t know if that man was still in the city. It would be tricky if he had left.
Ye You shared similar concerns. However, he figured that unless the man had been arrested by the police for committing a crime, there was a good chance he would still be hovering around bars looking for "prey".
If a person committed a bad deed under specific conditions and got away with it, they’d continue to do it as long as their actions went unnoticed, similar to an addiction.
Therefore, he instructed the yellow cat and others to focus their search around bars and KTV lounges.
