Chapter 584: Chapter 584: Bloodstained Wedding Dress_1
Looking at the slightly raised "human-shaped grave", Qin Sisi felt a strange pang in her heart, and was a bit scared to check the life that had passed away.
"Where’s Zhou Hai?" Ning Hao asked the doctor, turning his head. Shouldn’t the bereaved be here?
Ning Hao held his breath, walked to the operating table, and carefully removed the white cloth. The upper body of the body was revealed.
Although she was pale as paper, she was still lovely enough to recognize, with an immaculate white wedding dress adorning her body, looking like a beautiful angel fallen into sleep.
Only the glaring fresh bloodstains near her chest told a horrifying truth.
Qin Sisi quietly watched the lovely girl. She had seen numerous haunting ghosts and experienced various human avarice, hatred, and anger, yet never had anyone brought her such intense sorrow.
The emerald spring had suddenly been interrupted by a glistening cold dagger. The blossoming flowers turned into mud, leaving only the carcasses of butterflies.
After a few glances, Ning Hao looked up at the doctor who had been following them the entire time and said, "The wound was near the heart, right?"
The doctor nodded his head, "Correct. It was a penetrating cardiac injury."
Ning Hao turned towards Qin Sisi and seemed like he wanted to say something. However, after seeing the doctor standing beside him, he held back. He pulled Qin Sisi aside and lowered his voice, "A similar heart injury had happened to Brother Lu, and you saved him. Can you save her as well?"
Qin Sisi looked down at Ye You who softly meowed once, meaning "Go have a look."
Qin Sisi held Ye You in her arms and approached the operating table. She placed Ye You next to the deceased girl’s head, and Ye You extended its paw and put it on the deceased’s forehead.
The doctor, dressed in a white coat, could only hear Ning Hao mumbling something earlier but couldn’t hear the specifics. When he saw a cat touching the deceased’s remains, he could not help but panic. Before he had a chance to stop them, the black cat had already retracted its claws and returned back to its owner’s embrace.
However, Ye You’s actions still angered the doctor, causing him to furrow his brows and scolded, "This is a homicide investigation! The body has to be sent for an autopsy. You guys can’t mess with it, please leave now."
Qin Sisi understood the doctor’s feelings. She softly apologized and turned to Ning Hao, shaking her head. Ye You had already told her the outcome just now. Although he had great mana, he was not omnipotent.
Ning Hao was anxious and didn’t dare to raise his voice, so he pulled Qin Sisi back into a corner and asked her, "Why not? Isn’t her situation pretty similar to that of Brother Lu?"
Qin Sisi slightly frowned and explained, "It’s too late. Her body is already cold, and her bodily functions have all stopped. It’s impossible to save her."
Ning Hao froze for a long while, then expressed his deep regret. "So, if we’re here earlier she could have been saved? But I was away working on a case then, only returned when the incident happened."
Ning Hao felt guilty, feeling if only he had returned earlier, the outcome might have been different.
Qin Sisi gently comforted him, "Don’t think this way. It’s not easy to save a life. Her situation is not the same as Brother Lu’s. If her destiny is like this, even if you save her this time, she will get into trouble again soon."
The ghost of Brother Bao could only move around the complex where he died, and Brother Lu was haunted slightly by that incident, so he never wanted to go back to the complex, making the possibility of Brother Bao seeking revenge pretty low.
The appearance of Qin Sisi and Ye You changed the situation, but when the panic was over, the trajectory of each person’s life hadn’t changed.
Ning Hao sighed deeply, saying helplessly, "Anyway, I have to thank you."
Qin Sissi pulled at a faint smile and was about to say something like "no need to thank me", her gaze drifted past Ning Hao’s shoulder, abruptly landing on the doorway behind him.
There stood a beautiful girl in a snow-white wedding dress, her hair piled on top of her head, with only a few strands of naughty hair hanging down on her shoulders, slightly made-up, carrying a sorrowful expression. Those watery eyes were staring blankly at them.
Qin Sisi looked at her for a while, turned her head to look at the body on the operating table, indeed they looked identical.
A few hours must have passed since her death. The Messenger of Death should have been here by now, but her soul was still here. Hence, there must be a lot of unfinished business she couldn’t let go!
When they entered the room, their attention was instantly drawn to the body on the operating table. They did not pay much attention to the other places. As the ghost of the recently deceased hadn’t been contaminated with too much Yin energy, both Sisi and Ye You failed to notice.
Having noticed Qin Sisi’s focused gaze, the girl shifted her own gaze. When their eyes met, they silently stared at each other, both filled with sorrow.
Qin Sisi walked around Ning Hao, directly to the girl in the wedding dress. She went up to the girl, and with a voice that only they two could hear, Qin Sisi said, "I’m sorry, I can’t save you, but I can help you fulfill your unfinished wishes. Come with me!"
In order to win the goodwill of ghosts and ensure the smooth progress of the negotiations, Qin Sisi usually doesn’t like to use force.
Besides, facing the girl in front of her, there was no chance she could use the strategy she had used last night, to knock out that car accident victim and toss him into the Portable Space.
The bride showed a hesitant expression. She looked at Qin Sisi for a moment, and then glanced over at her own body on the operating table. The pool of blood on her chest was horrific.
Finally, she nodded her head.
Ye You casually rose its paw towards the bridal girl, and her figure faded away, like a ray of white light, it disappeared into Ye You’s hand.
"Sisi, what are you doing?" Ning Hao’s puzzled voice came from behind.
Qin Sisi turned around, smiled, and said, "Nothing much. Since we couldn’t help here, we should leave as soon as possible."
Ning Hao sighed again, walked over to the operating table to pull the white cloth and cover the deceased again, then left the resuscitation room with Qin Sisi.
Relieved, the doctor locked the door of the resuscitation room and simply sat down on the bench outside, preventing anyone from disturbing again.
Ning Hao drove Qin Sisi home, and when they arrived at the entrance of the neighborhood, just as Qin Sisi prepared to get off the car, Ning Hao suddenly asked, "Sisi, did you see something in the hospital just now?"
Qin Sisi hesitated for a moment, and finally admitted, "Yes, I saw the ghost of that girl."
"She..."
Ning Hao looked shocked and was going to ask something else, but Qin Sisi interrupted him, "Ning Hao, I don’t want to lie to you. If you ask, I’ll tell you, but the human world and the spiritual realm are two different worlds. Don’t hope that a ghost can be with a human, that’s impossible."
Ning Hao was left speechless. The girl indeed died. Even if her soul still exists, what’s the point, considering ordinary people can neither see, hear nor touch it?
