Chapter 562: Chapter 562: Brother Bao’s Revenge_1
Ning Hao was punctual. Just a few minutes past one in the afternoon, there were knocks on the door.
Qin Sisi immediately became nervous, looking at Ye You apprehensively.
Brother Bao’s gaze also turned to the door, then abruptly turned to walk towards the kitchen. Qin Sisi watched him puzzled, but soon Brother Bao came out, with a fruit knife in his hand.
Qin Sisi frowned deeply, Ye You’s expression faintly swept over the knife in Brother Bao’s hand. He then jumped onto Qin Sisi’s shoulder and said softly, "Don’t worry, go open the door!"
Qin Sisi took a deep breath, walked to the door, paused when her hand was on the doorknob, and then slowly opened the door.
Ning Hao’s medium-dark face appeared before her eyes. He looked at Qin Sisi gravely and led a medium-built, well-proportioned man into the room, saying to Qin Sisi, "Sisi, I’ve brought Brother Lu with me."
"Hello." Lv Yong greeted Qin Sisi with a warm and friendly smile.
Qin Sisi turned to look at Lv Yong. He had a rather ordinary face, but his build was very upright, probably due to his occupation.
She wanted to say something to him but didn’t know what to say. She felt guilty towards this stranger she was meeting for the first time.
While Qin Sisi hesitated, Brother Bao had come over, he looked at Lv Yong with a cold smile and said, "Officer Lu, do you recognize me?"
Although Lv Yong found Ning Hao’s invitation strange, he didn’t suspect anything because of their professional friendship.
Arriving at Qin Sisi’s house, seeing how harmless the girl in front of him looked, he couldn’t help but let down his guard.
When Brother Bao suddenly appeared before him, Lv Yong looked at the man he once called "Big Brother" for several years, and who he himself had once shot dead, and was stunned.
The next second, Lv Yong felt a chill at his chest, and his body stiffened.
He slowly looked down to see a slender fruit knife stabbing exactly into his heart. His blood splattered onto Brother Bao’s knife-wielding hand and began to drip onto the clean floor along his clothes.
Drop after drop, the splashes of blood gradually linked up.
Ning Hao stood by the wall, watching everything that was happening with a gloomy expression. His fists clenched tightly, his nails digging into his flesh.
Hold on, Brother Lu.
Sisi, don’t disappoint me!
While Ning Hao prayed silently for everything to go smoothly, he gritted his teeth and lowered his eyes.
Lv Yong looked up at Brother Bao in shock, opened his mouth to say something, but couldn’t say anything.
Brother Bao had a triumphant expression on his face. He twisted the knife with a rotating motion, pulling the fruit knife from Lv Yong’s heart.
"Ten years ago you betrayed me, causing my death. Ten years later, I take your life. We are now even."
Bitterly, Brother Bao said this and pushed Lv Yong’s shoulder hard. Lv Yong fell powerlessly to the ground, his eyes gradually losing focus, his breathing became weak, and finally, he stopped forever.
Qin Sisi checked Brother Bao’s breathing and then stood up and looked at Brother Bao, saying, "He’s dead now, it’s time to keep your promise."
Brother Bao looked around. All this seemed a bit too smooth. Was there any trick?
He laughed and replied, "Sure, but let me first make sure this traitor is indeed dead."
Brother Bao squatted down in front of Lv Yong’s body, blocking Qin Sisi’s view. He looked at the blood continuously pouring out of Lv Yong’s chest. Brother Bao had a sinister look in his eyes as he again raised the fruit knife, aiming for Lv Yong’s throat.
Just as the blade was about to touch Lv Yong’s skin, suddenly a flame surged up, knocking the fruit knife out of Brother Bao’s hand.
With a "clang", the fruit knife fell on the floor, but its body was wrapped in a golden flame. In just a few minutes, the hard metal turned into ashes.
Brother Bao was taken aback. Realizing what was happening, he turned to look at Qin Sisi, said mockingly, "Little girl, he’s already dead. What’s wrong with me stabbing him one more time?"
Qin Sisi looked cold and replied resolutely, "Helping you to kill a police officer and exceeding my moral boundaries is what I’ve committed to do. Therefore, I must leave him a complete corpse. If you dare disrespect his body, I’d rather not have your Soul Power and let your spirit scatter."
Brother Bao’s face changed a few times. Indeed, Qinsi’s tactics had some reality to them. Although he was the head of a criminal organization and used to bloody battles, he was still scared of death. The dispellment of his soul was even more terrifying.
He looked down at the corpse of Lv Yong. He was confident in his own skills. That stab clearly struck Lv Yong’s heart, and most importantly, the final twisting motion. There’s no chance this traitor could still be alive.
If that’s the case, there’s nothing wrong with leaving a complete corpse. There’s no need to fall out with Qin Sisi. If she really makes him disperse his soul, it would be not worth the loss.
Thinking this way, Brother Bao looks a little more relaxed, saying, "Alright then, I’ll let him keep his whole body. But..."
"What?" Qin Sisi looked at Brother Bao, wary.
For some reason, he always had an uneasy feeling in his heart. To thoroughly eliminate his doubts and to prevent Qinsi Sisi from tricking him, Brother Bao continued, "However, I need to personally witness his soul taken away by the Messenger of Death before I can give you the Soul Power."
"You old fox!" Qin Sisi cursed in her heart, but did not dare to show anything on her face, and replied indifferently, "Sure, I don’t mind waiting a little longer, but if you dare to renege on your promise, you know the consequences."
"I don’t need you to remind me." Brother Bao was not happy about someone else having control over his life and fate, and he replied irritably. He sat down next to the sofa, determined not to relax until he had seen Lv Yong’s soul taken away.
Qin Sisi and Ye You exchanged a glance, understanding everything clearly. Brother Bao was cunning and sly, so advancing the plan early was out of the question. They only had Lan Di to rely on.
Looking at the blood continuously bubbling out of Lv Yong’s chest, Qin Sisi had become more and more anxious. She used to be afraid of meeting with the Messenger of Death, but now she was hoping that the Messenger of Death would come faster.
Whether Qin Sisi was too anxious, or the Messenger of Death really was late, it seemed like a long time passed before a familiar figure finally floated in through the window.
This figure was shrouded in a large black cloak, its face unseeable. The person emanated a dense and frigid aura, but there was also an indomitable air of authority.
Ordinary ghosts could not appear during daytime, but the Messengers of Death clearly had a special ability that did not require them to fear the Yang energy brought by daylight.
Even in the bright of day, they could move through the world, guiding the souls of those whose bodies had perished to the underworld.
