Chapter 543: Chapter 543: Sick Boy_1

"Dar... darling, let me explain..." Peach’s face turned ashen as she implored, her words jumbled.

Darling? But had Ma Liwei not clearly heard Peach calling him a fool during the livestream?

Thinking of all that he had done for Peach, thinking of how many men Peach had been with, maintaining intimate relationships with several of them even while she was in a relationship with him, Ma Liwei’s anger burned with an intensity that was as fierce as a blazing fire.

Slowly, he approached Peach and raised his knife, striking her violently.

After a few screams, Peach fell in a pool of blood, naked, her blood trickling down, her beautiful eyes wide in shock, seemingly unable to comprehend why she had met such a fate.

Ma Liwei too, was stunned. It took him a while to understand what he had done. He began to shiver, the bloodied knife clattering to the floor. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

He slowly backed away, his palm gripping the door, leaving a clear bloody handprint on the white wooden door.

Finally, Ma Liwei turned and fled, running to his car as quickly as he could, driving into the vast darkness of the night.

Qin Sisi smelled the blood in the air and heard the silence outside, so she gathered her courage to venture into Peach’s bedroom.

Without the protection of the Invisible Bubble, Qin Sisi felt somewhat uneasy.

Once inside Peach’s bedroom, the grisly scene of the bloody corpse met her gaze. The bedsheets and floor were splattered with blood, creating a truly horrific sight.

Qin Sisi felt sick to her stomach. She had planned to expose Peach’s true nature via the livestream with the help of Lethargy Potion, especially for Ma Liwei to see.

However, this brutal outcome had surpassed her expectations.

Just as she was about to take a few steps closer to gauge Peach’s condition, Ye You promptly stopped her, pointing towards the camera on the computer.

Qin Sisi quickly halted. Without the cover of the Invisible Bubble, a few more steps would have made her visible to the webcam and seen by all the viewers.

She looked up at Peach’s blood-soaked body. Qin Sisi thought that her soul should be leaving her body soon. Maybe she could wait a bit longer, in hope of collecting another ghost.

However, before Peach’s soul could appear, an urgent blaring of sirens tore through the silent night.

Qin Sisi immediately looked at Ye You nervously. Ma Liwei had just killed someone, and the whole thing had been captured by the webcam. Most likely, someone had already called the police.

Ye You squinted his eyes and quickly told Qin Sisi, "We can’t wait. Let’s leave now."

Reluctantly glancing at Peach, Qin Sisu signaled to Liu Mengjiao and the three of them hastily left the bedroom, jumping out of the window in another room.

Ye You conjured a semi-transparent silver sphere using his magic, which carried Qin Sisi back to their home. Liu Mengjiao followed behind.

As Qin Sisi had predicted, indeed some people had seen Ma Liwei murdering Peach during the livestream and reported to the police. More than one person reported the crime, which is why the police arrived so quickly.

Ma Liwei had left behind several traces of evidence since he arrived so hastily. Combined with the video footage from the livestream, his crime was indisputable.

By dawn, Ma Liwei was arrested and confessed to the stabbing without hesitation.

The next day, Qin Sisi relayed the information she had gleaned to Liu Mengjiao.

Liu Mengjiao was silent for a moment before asking, "Do you think he will be sentenced to death?"

Qin Sisi shook her head, saying, "I’m not sure. In cases of crimes of passion, if he has a good lawyer for his defense, he might be able to avoid the death penalty, but he would still face many years of imprisonment."

Qin Sisi looked at Liu Mengjiao, uncertain whether she was satisfied with the outcome. Qin Sisi didn’t want her to continue seeking revenge. After all, she had already paid with a person’s life.

Liu Mengjiao let out a long sigh and said, "Let it be then. For our child’s sake, let it be."

Qin Sisi breathed a sigh of relief and gently said, "Then your promise..."

Liu Mengjiao paused before turning to Qin Sisi, "Thanks for doing all this for me. I’m a person who repays kindness. I’m willing to offer you my Soul Power."

"Thank you," Qin Sisi expressed her gratitude and turned to look at Ye You.

With a swish of his claws, Ye You summoned the Spirit Conversion Bottle. The snowy white bottle emitted a faint glow.

Heeding the call of the Spirit Conversion Bottle, Liu Mengjiao gradually began to fade and muttered, "Life is too bitter, does it really matter if we can reincarnate?"

Her voice grew fainter, and as soon as the last word fell, Liu Mengjiao’s figure dissolved into a plume of white smoke entering the Spirit Conversion Bottle.

Ye You put away the Spirit Conversion Bottle. When he and Qin Sisi exchanged glances, their gazes became more resolute.

With Liu Mengjiao’s issue resolved, Qin Sisi and Ye You began to ponder on how to look for more ghosts. But this time, they were in luck. It was as if someone had brought them an umbrella just as it was raining.

Just a day later, Qin Sisi received a call from Boss Zheng. He mentioned that a friend’s child had come down with a strange illness and asked for her assistance.

"A strange disease? Is he in a coma?" Qin Sisi asked. If it was a state of unconsciousness like Ding Jiawang, it could be a potential case of soul loss.

There was a pause before Boss Zheng responded, "It seems not. I heard that sometimes the child is unconscious, sometimes awake, and sometimes confused, to the point that he doesn’t recognize his parents anymore.

But that’s just hearsay. I’m not sure what the actual condition is, which is why I’d like you to accompany me to take a look."

"Alright," Qin Sisi glanced at the time - it was almost noon - and said, "Let’s go in the afternoon!"

"Okay", Boss Zheng agreed.

Having arranged the time with Boss Zheng, they hung up.

Qin Sisi relayed the conversation to Ye You. Without seeing the condition for themselves, it was indeed hard to determine if it was related to a lost soul.

Qin Sisi then prepared lunch and after having the meal with Ye You, she sat on the couch flipping through her magic notebook, waiting for Boss Zheng’s call.

Interestingly, Qin Sisi was exceedingly grateful to Boss Zheng. A few days ago, when she had called to ask if he had any work for her, his reply had left her somewhat disappointed. Yet, his swift response now demonstrated that he had indeed kept her request in mind.

At two in the afternoon, the phone rang. It was Boss Zheng.

Qin Sisi immediately answered the call.

"Hello, Sisi, I’m outside your apartment complex. Come out now!" Boss Zheng’s voice was gentle and clear.

Qin Sisi replied, hung up the phone, gathered her things, straddled Ye You, and headed towards the residential compound’s exit.

Once she hopped into Boss Zheng’s car, they exchanged pleasantries and Qin Sisi began to inquire about the specifics of the sick boy’s condition.
