Chapter 530: Chapter 530 The Gift of the Messenger of Death _1

After a bout of bustling commotion, the surrounds finally calmed down.

Only Qin Sisi, Ye You, Lan Di, and two Messengers of Death were left at this time.

The tall, high-ranking Messenger of Death watched disdainfully as Lan Di’s underlings blustered in and reluctantly left. However, Lan Di and Pei Pei’s performances were acceptable.

Lan Di was a quick thinker, and after bidding his underlings away, he immediately approached the tall Messenger of Death and cordially proposed, "Since the misunderstanding is cleared, why don’t we sit down and have a good talk?"

The tall Messenger of Death slightly shook his head, pointing to Qin Sisi and Ye You and said, "Living souls shouldn’t be in the ghost world. If everything is settled, let them leave as soon as possible!"

Lan Di naturally knew the messenger spoke the truth, and his words were merely a polite gesture. After all, Qin Sisi and Ye You were in a hurry.

Qin Sisi and Ye You exchanged glances and, stepping towards the Messengers of Death, gratefully said, "Thank you for your help, we’ll leave right away and make sure not to cause any trouble in the ghost world."

The Messenger of Death nodded, pondered for a moment, and then asked, "Did Master Hong Bo give you the Golden Tower Phantom Crystal?"

Qin Sisi was taken aback. She’d been wearing the Golden Tower Phantom Crystal all along, but its small size was entirely hidden under her clothes. She was clueless about how the Messenger of Death had found it and even recognized it as Master Hong Bo’s artifact.

Seeing Qin Sisi’s bewildered expression, the Messenger of Death spoke in a more gentle tone, "Master Hong Bo and I are old friends, and I recognized this Golden Tower Phantom Crystal. Did you think you could easily steal ghosts from me without it?"

A realization dawned on Qin Sisi. She remembered how kind this Messenger of Death had been to her.

The first time they competed for the ghost of Wang Long, the Messenger of Death merely asked for a symbolic monetary offering.

The second time, when he took Xiao Jin’s ghost, he didn’t cause trouble for Zhuang Qin either.

Then, Qin Sisi finally realized it wasn’t her luck; he had given them leeway out of respect for Master Hong Bo.

Ye You looked at the Messenger of Death from a distance behind Qin Sisi. Previously, he had some doubts, but he hadn’t thought much about it.

Now, it seemed the Golden Tower Phantom Crystal not only helped Qin Sisi absorb the Yang energy from the sun and regulate her health but also carried Master Hong Bo’s seal of trust. Anyone who knew Master Hong Bo would give Qin Sisi some concession after seeing this artifact.

Qin Sisi now understood this principle. If she met Master Hong Bo, she should thank him properly.

With that thought, she looked up at the Messenger of Death and said with a slight smile, "Indeed, Master Hong Bo gifted it to me. Thanks for sparing me earlier."

After pondering for a moment, the tall Messenger of Death spoke deeply, "Master Hong Bo values you highly since he bestowed his treasure on you. My apprentice may have caused some slight troubles. I suppose I should give you a gift too, as a token of goodwill."

As he spoke, the large black sleeve swung, revealing a thin black thread extending from his sleeve. A small black bag hung at the end of it.

"Take it," he said, extending the small bag to Qin Sisi.

Qin Sisi hesitated. Although he’d been kind to her before, the sudden gift left her a little bewildered.

Before she could respond, Ye You sprang up like a gust of wind, snatched the bag, and said solemnly, "Thank you."

Qin Sisi looked at Ye You, rather puzzled. Was this gift so precious? Ye You seemed very eager.

Feeling Qin Sisi’s questioning eyes, Ye You took her hand and nodded at her.

Qin Sisi knew Ye You had his reasons. It wasn’t too late to ask for details once they got back. Now, the primary mission was to return to the human world and answer Liu Ying’s question.

The face of the Messenger of Death was hidden in his large hat and was unseen, but Ye You could feel his scrutinizing gaze. So, he confidently returned it.

After a moment, the Messenger of Death sighed, "Let it be! Life has its mysteries and the world abounds with unknown rules. Can a mere ghost like us wildly speculate? You two, leave immediately! Avoid entering the ghost world unless absolutely necessary."

Qin Sisi couldn’t quite comprehend his words, but she understood that he was urging her to leave. Considering he had just gifted her and was friends with Master Hong Bo, she politely responded, "Thank you, sir. We will leave immediately."

The tall Messenger of Death did not say anything more. He signaled his apprentice, and the two shadowy figures cloaked in black robes departed swiftly, soon disappearing into the shadows.

Seeing the time, Lan Di urged, "Move quickly, there’s only half an hour left. Merging your souls with your bodies will take some time."

Without any delay, Qin Sisi and Ye You followed Lan Di into his house.

The decor in Lan Di’s house was both comfortable and luxurious but not excessively extravagant, in line with his affluent second-generation status and free-spirited personality.

Pei Pei had just brewed a pot of fragrant tea and was sipping it on the couch with Qing Meng and Bai Lian.

When they saw Lan Di enter, Qing Meng and Bai Lian stood up immediately, respectfully greeting, "Big Brother."

Lan Di made a sitting gesture to them and said in a rush, "There’s no time for introductions now, let’s save it for later."

With that, Lan Di rushed to a bedroom and opened a cupboard door.

Inside the empty cupboard was a glowing circle.

Lan Di explained, "This is a Portal. It cost me a fortune. It can instantly transport you to a location associated with your summoning. Since no one summoned you, I marked your home when I came. You can get back home directly through this."

Lan Di’s explanation was clear, and Qin Sisi and Ye You understood right away. Given the urgency of the situation, there was no time for courtesy. They quickly jumped into the glowing circle.

Lan Di breathed a sigh of relief, thought for a moment, then loudly said, "I have tried my best. If they can’t make it on time, it’s not my fault."

Ye You glanced at Lan Di and nonchalantly said, "If we don’t make it on time, you owe me a Soul Power."

"You..." Lan Di was about to rebuke when a flash of light in front of him caused the two figures inside the circle to disappear. With nothing to vent his frustration on, he slammed the cupboard door shut.
