Chapter 522: Chapter 522: A One-Day Tour in the Underworld_1
Hearing Lan Di’s words, Qin Sisi began to worry.
Liu Ying only gave them three days and now two days have passed, leaving only the last day. Taking such a big risk to go to the Netherworld, it would be a wasted effort if they returned too late?
Ye You lightly glanced at Lan Di with his purple eyes and said in a calm and composed manner, "If the Netherworld is so vast, then why are you always able to arrive here so quickly?"
Lan Di’s expression stiffened slightly, revealing a somewhat pained look. It cost him a fortune to purchase that magic artifact in the first place.
Qin Sisi also suddenly remembered that every time she summoned Lan Di by burning yellow paper, he appeared very quickly, which contradicted his statement about the vastness of the netherworld.
The cold gaze from Ye You and the curious stare from Qin Sisi finally made Lan Di admit it. He said with disappointments, "Indeed, I have a treasure in my home in Fengdu City. This allows me to travel freely to the human realm. But except for Ghost Immortals like me, other souls can only enter Fengdu City and can’t leave. Even if you follow me directly to Fengdu City, you can only wait at the main gate.
"It takes seven days to travel from the Land Temple to Fengdu City. Han Zhikun has only been dead for five days, and we won’t make it in one day."
Ye You fell silent. Even with his powerful mana, he could not arbitrarily breach the rules of the netherworld.
Qin Sisi, after a moment’s hesitation, gritted her teeth and said, "I don’t care! We should go and see if there’s a chance of making it in time."
After saying this, Qin Sisi felt a strange sense of déjà vu and couldn’t help but look at Ye You.
The moment their eyes meet, Qin Sisi showed a slight shy smile, and even the icy gaze of Ye You seemed a bit warmer.
He had once said those words to her, and now she was the one uttering them.
However, when Ye You said it, he was confident in his victory. When she said it, it was purely out of fearlessness of the unknown.
Seeing the resolute expressions on their faces, Lan Di took a deep breath and announced, "Alright, we have been working together for quite some time, and I consider us old friends. I’ll accompany you on this risky endeavor!"
"Thank you." Qin Sisi turned around to thank Lan Di.
Lan Di waved his hand dismissively, "Don’t thank me just yet. Taking you into the netherworld itself is against the rules. We can turn a blind eye to it for now, but if we run into a particularly stringent Ghost Immortal or someone looking for trouble, I might not be able to help."
Ye You spoke in a deep voice, "Just take us in. We can deal with the remaining issues."
Lan Di gave a disgruntled, "You’re not very pleasant to talk to", muttered something under his breath, and then urged, "Fine, let’s move quickly."
Qin Sisi looked at Ye You and then walked into the bedroom and lay down on the bed with him.
Ye You whispered to her, "Don’t be scared, just think of it as a one day tour to the netherworld."
Qin Sisi broke into a soft chuckle, her anxiety eased quite a bit. She knew very clearly that this was a journey in close contact with death, but having Ye You by her side made her feel optimistic.
Lan Di looked at Ye You and asked, "Do you want to do it, or should I?"
Ye You hesitated for a moment and replied, "You should do it. You have more experience, try to minimize her pain."
Lan Di nodded, and jokingly added, "Alright, I’ll lessen her pain and add to yours."
Ye You gave Lan Di a side glance, didn’t respond, and quietly lay next to Qin Sisi. The pain was nothing to him.
"Close your eyes, and don’t open them until I tell you to." Ye You’s gentle voice echoed in Qin Sisi’s ears.
Qin Sisi gave a small nod and tightly shut her eyes.
Standing by the bed, Lan Di’s expression turned serious. He pulled out a little black bell from his pocket and started to ring it, facing towards the bodies of Qin Sisi and Ye You.
"Ding dong ding dong...ding dong ding dong..."
The crisp sound of the bell rang continuously. Qin Sisi started to feel tired, and her consciousness slowly began to blur.
After an indeterminate amount of time, a wave of pulling pain consumed her entire body, as if something wanted to be ripped from her.
She wanted to open her eyes to see but she remembered Ye You’s words, she wasn’t allowed to open her eyes until he said so.
So, Qin Sisi tightened her eyes shut, enduring the tearing pain.
Suddenly, her body felt immensely light as if she was floating in air, as light as a feather.
"Okay, you can open your eyes now!" Ye You’s warm voice sounded near her ear.
Qin Sisi nervously clenched her fists and slowly opened her eyes.
Sure enough, it was not an illusion. She was indeed floating in the air, and in the distance, Lan Di was also floating at the same height, smiling at her.
Qin Sisi curved her lips in response with a polite smile, then her thoughts turned to Ye You, wanting to know his condition.
She quickly turned her head to look at him, only to be stunned by what she saw.
Standing by her side was not the floating black cat she had imagined, but a human form.
His black cloak flowed down to his knees, the man seemed as cold and mysterious as the night, graceful and unmatched in his elegance.
The diamond buttons on the front of his cloak shone like the dazzling stars in the night sky, eye-catching and captivating.
His black long pants tucked into his dark short boots added a touch of wild and free-spiritedness to his elegance.
Unable to resist, Qin Sisi raised her hand and touched Ye You’s forehead. His eyebrows were handsome, and his purple eyes gleamed.
She finally managed to touch him - Ye You, the man she’d long been wishing for.
Seeing the somewhat dreamy expression on Qin Sisi’s face, Ye You gave a slight smile. He stretched out his arm around Qin Sisi’s waist, brought her into his arms, their foreheads touching. In a low voice, he asked, "Are you surprised?"
At this moment, Qin Sisi felt a profound sensation that resonated deep within her, leaving her want to laugh but also cry. In the end, she merely nodded gently with a smile.
"Cough Cough... I say, shouldn’t we get started on the journey? You’re in a hurry, remember?" Lan Di interrupted inappropriately.
Qin Sisi blushed, gave Ye You a shy look, and stepped back a bit.
Ye You also knew that this wasn’t the time for intimacy. He loosened his arm around Qin Sisi’s waist, but immediately took her hand again. Then he looked at Lan Di and said, "Let’s go."
Lan Di shrugged his shoulders at them, smirked and started to lead the way, jingling the black bell in his hand.
Qin Sisi noticed that the sound of the jingling bells seemed to have a magical power that attracted their souls, keeping them following closely behind it without any need for her to consciously follow.
Ye You tightly held Qin Sisi’s hand, following Lan Di from a short distance, embarking on the journey into the mysterious and unknown Netherworld together.
