Chapter 514: Chapter 514 Sacrifice Yourself_1
Qin Sisi could see Ding Jiawang’s reluctance and said in a low voice, "Please, just go along with it for now. This sacrifice will allow us to leave immediately."
Ding Jiawang frowned and stared at Qin Sisi, "Haven’t we already obtained Wu Menglei’s soul? You still insist on getting this Soul Power, and now you want me to kiss a ghost. Have you considered how I would feel about it?"
Sisi faltered for a moment. Kissing a ghost indeed took a great deal of courage, but the Soul Power was within her reach; she could not just give up.
After giving it some thought, she said to Ding Jiawang in a somewhat pleading manner, "Soul Power is very important to me. I seriously need your help. If there’s anything you can’t handle in the future, I will certainly do my best to help."
Ding Jiawang seemed somewhat persuaded and fell silent.
After a little while, he said in a low voice, "Fine, remember that you owe me for this. If I ask for something in the future, you’re not allowed to refuse."
Sisi paused for a moment before replying, "As long as it doesn’t harm anyone."
She agreed to incur Ding Jiawang’s favor, but to avoid breaking her own principles, she added her own conditions.
Ding Jiawang cast a slanting glance at Sisi, grumbling discontentedly, "Do I seem like such a bad person?"
Sisi only smiled without uttering a word. She could sense that Ding Jiawang was not a wicked man, yet human nature was complex and one could cross their own line for the sake of their obsessions.
"Um... you have to ensure my safety!" Ding Jiawang reminded Qin Sisi rather uneasily.
Exasperated internally, Sisi responded with great seriousness on her face, "Absolutely."
Ding Jiawang took a deep breath to prepare himself, then slowly approached Yao Shujun.
Yao Shujun raised her head and looked at the young and handsome man drawing nearer. She was so nervous that her entire body stiffened, her hands tightly clasped in front of her, with beads of sweat pouring out of her palms.
Ding Jiawang stood still in front of Yao Shujun, his deep, expressive eyes fixed on her. The lady ghost was truly attractive: not overwhelmingly beautiful, but possessed a quiet elegance and the charm of a delicate bird that easily kindled a protective urge in men’s hearts.
Ding Jiawang raised his hands and placed them on Yao Shujun’s petite shoulders, then gradually leaned forward.
As she watched Ding Jiawang’s handsome face grow closer, Yao Shujun’s heart began to pound, her eyes wide with anticipation.
"Close your eyes," Ding Jiawang instructed in a gentle, slightly husky voice.
Realizing her own inexperience, Yao Shujun was a mix of embarrassment and elation, compliantly closing her eyes.
Ding Jiawang also closed his eyes, bending himself down slowly. He had a girlfriend before, so kissing was not unfamiliar to him.
Despite it being something of a charade, both of them began to slightly lose themselves in the act, with only the degree differing.
Yao Shujun was completely immersed, whereas Ding Jiawang was more restrained. Still, the lingering sensation of this intimate moment made him somewhat reluctant to break away.
As an onlooker, Sisi’s heart raced uncontrollably. She turned her head away coyly to avoid the scene, only to meet Ye You’s profound gaze.
The eyes met and then averted gently. The same thought crossed their minds: they had yet to experience such an intimate moment with each other.
Restricted by reality, they could only hint at their feelings. The barrier preventing real intimacy, despite Ye You’s marriage proposal to Sisi, was a regret they both suppressed.
Minutes later, Ding Jiawang finally released Yao Shujun.
Yao Shujun opened her eyes, gazing dreamily at Ding Jiawang. Her eyes were soft, showing a spark of vitality.
"Thank you," she said gratefully to Ding Jiawang.
She understood that this was a kiss of wish fulfillment, irrelevant to romance. However, as a wandering ghost, that was all she could ask for.
Ding Jiawang just nodded slightly, then retreated a few steps and turned back to stand behind Sisi.
From an angle where others couldn’t see, he couldn’t resist touching his lips, which still seem to carry Yao Shujun’s lingering fragrance.
This kiss had felt quite good. Even though it wasn’t his first, it was likely to be one he would remember for a long time.
Yao Shujun appeared somewhat overwhelmed, her breathing slightly ragged.
Waiting for her to calm down, Sisi went forward and gently asked, "So are your wishes now fulfilled?"
Yao Shujun nodded lightly and murmured, "Being alone as a wandering ghost for so many years was so lonely. Now that my wishes have been fulfilled, I’m willing to give you my Soul Power. I hope that in the next life, I meet someone who is truly meant for me."
Sisi pondered for a moment and then said, "The cause of this life leads to the result of the next. You’ve never done anything evil, so your next life will surely be blessed."
Yao Shujun responded with a small smile, "I’ll take that as your blessing then. I also hope that you soon achieve what you desire."
A Soul Power collection was not trivial. Being a ghost for so many years, Yao Shujun understood this well.
"Thank you," Sisi thanked her in a calm manner, then turned to glance at Ye You.
He nodded nearly imperceptibly and raised his claw, revealing the Spirit Conversion Bottle.
The bottle floated in mid-air, radiating dim light. It was brilliantly white and crystal clear.
The boards covering the window had been burned to ash by Sisi’s fireball, exposing the whole window. A cool breeze drifted into the room, causing the candle flame on the chair to flicker nonstop.
Yao Shujun’s figure gradually became translucent, ultimately dissipating into a puff of white smoke and floating into the Spirit Conversion Bottle.
With a flick of Ye You’s claw, the bottle returned to his hand and promptly vanished.
Ding Jiawang watched everything unfold wide-eyed, then turned to stare at Qin Sisi with a complex expression, "I feel you have lots of secrets."
Sisi replied indifferently, "Everyone has secrets. It’s fine as long as we coexist peacefully."
Ding Jiawang thought it over and concluded that there was no need for him to be overly concerned with Sisi’s secrets. After all, they were not from the same world.
"Your secrets have nothing to do with me, as long as you remember your promise," Ding Jiawang reminded Sisi.
Sisi nodded, "I won’t forget. Is there anything you need my help with now?"
Ding Jiawang’s expression changed slightly, seeming somewhat hesitant. Eventually, all he said was, "I’m not sure yet. I’ll let you know when I’ve figured it out."
