Chapter 462: Chapter 462 Dead Pigs Are Not Afraid of Boiling Water_1

Lian Fei’s spirit was so engrossed in mocking Han Xiaowen that he didn’t notice the presence of another person in the room.

He felt the danger only when the Divine Dog’s Fury approached him from the side. Startled, he hastily tried to dodge.

But it was too late. The pitch-black whip brutally lashed his back.

Lian Fei screamed in pain as his ghostly form collapsed onto the floor, wincing in agony. Thick black smoke seeped from his back, a clear sign of extensive injuries.

By this time, Ye You had removed the invisible bubble, and Qin Sisi, with a frosty expression, watched the ghost writhing in pain. She softly asked, "Lian Fei?"

"Who... who are you?" Lian Fei trembled with pain, his eyes filled with fear, resentment, and fury as he looked at Qin Sisi.

Ignoring Lian Fei’s question, Qin Sisi turned her gaze towards Ye You, who sat on her shoulder, faintly aware of the black smoke rising from Lian Fei’s back.

Having been hit by the Divine Dog’s Fury, Lian Fei was severely injured. His spiritual power was not very significant to begin with, and if left untreated, the injury could soon drain away what remained of his existence.

Qin Sisi had no sympathy for this despicable creature. However, he was a ghost, after all, and they needed his soul power.

Ye You understood Qin Sisi’s intentions. Despite the disgust towards the ghost, he reluctantly lifted his paw and mustered a ray of green light towards Lian Fei, all in the name of acquiring soul power.

The green light enveloped Lian Fei, gradually healing the wounds on his back.

However, with this injury, Lian Fei had depleted half of his spiritual power, making him considerably weaker.

Struggling, he rose from the ground, shot a glare at Qin Sisi, then lowered his gaze, suppressing the emotions flooding his eyes.

Being in tune with the times was vital, and he fully understood that the woman before him was far from ordinary—he was no match for her.

"Better to play safe than sorry," he thought, and so he started planning his escape.

But just as the thought crossed his mind, a golden light shot towards him.

Before Lian Fei could react, the golden light, like a sturdy rope, tied him up tightly.

Having been thwarted once before, Ye You had become increasingly cautious.

He noticed Lian Fei’s unsettled gaze and suspected he was up to no good, most likely plotting an escape.

Though confident that Lian Fei wouldn’t be able to escape his watch, Ye You decided to save himself from the hassle and used the Vajra Bundling Spirit Rope to tie him up, thereby releasing himself of the need to keep a constant eye on him.

Qin Sisi and Ye You’s actions didn’t awaken the slumbering Han Xiaowen. Lin Xiaoyu, however, had remained silent all this while at Qin Sisi’s behest. He now sat upright, looking at Qin Sisi questioningly.

Qin Sisi explained, "We’ve caught him. I’m taking him outside. You should get some rest."

Lin Xiaoyu hesitated before making a request, "Sisi, no matter what happens, you must tell us. We need to put Xiaowen’s mind at ease."

"Alright," Qin Sisi responded resolutely. After all, this was a minor matter.

Together with Ye You, she escorted Lian Fei to the deserted living room. Gazing at the gruesome ghost before her, Qin Sisi cut to the chase, "Lian Fei, why did you choose to haunt Han Xiaowen?"

Quite astute, Lian Fei understood from her question that she probably knew about his past. He brazenly replied, "She was my girlfriend. Am I not allowed to miss her?"

A surge of indignation welled up within Qin Sisi. "Your girlfriend? You lost that right the moment you coerced her into selling herself for your drug money," she retorted contemptuously.

Caught off guard by Qin Sisi’s forthrightness, Lian Fei was momentarily taken aback. Nonetheless, he soon recovered, arguing defiantly, "If I say she’s mine, she’s mine. Unless I say we’re over, she’ll always be my girlfriend."

Qin Sisi spoke calmly, trying to keep her temper in check, "You wouldn’t have hurt her so badly in the first place if you had even a shred of feelings for her. As a ghost, you should’ve had the decency to leave her alone. Can’t you see that your actions may lead to her death?"

With an air of disregard, Lian Fei retorted, "That’s exactly what I want, for her to die and join me, so we can be ghostly husband and wife."

"Despicable!" Sisi finally lost her patience and spat out the insult.

But Lian Fei was ready for her. "How am I despicable? She was my girlfriend. She was mine in life, and in death, she’s my ghost. If she truly loved me, she would’ve agreed to my request and helped me obtain drugs. Instead, she ran away, causing me to get hit by a car. It’s her fault!"

Qin Sisi was at a loss for words. ’No one’s invincible when faced with a shameless person,’ she thought, and Lian Fei seemed to exceed the bounds of shamelessness.

Seeing Qin Sisi falling silent, Lian Fei became even more audacious. "This stupid woman thought I’d be helpless if she ran away. But the monk can’t run away from the temple! I waited for almost two years in her hometown until I finally lured her back. It was worth all the trouble."

"You’ve been in her hometown all this while?" Qin Sisi asked, surprised.

A smug smile on his face, Lian Fei responded, "Yes. Didn’t she tell you that her parents fell ill quite often? Those were my masterpieces. She was sensible to return home this time. If she hadn’t, I’d have killed her parents."

Qin Sisi gazed at Lian Fei bitterly. She didn’t even feel like scolding him anymore.

There was no point arguing with a person devoid of shame and conscience. He was purely insensible.

Having heard Lian Fei’s confession and linking it with Han Xiaowen’s previous accounts, she pieced together the entire sequence of events.

Lian Fei had been unwilling to accept his demise and had decided to haunt Han Xiaowen. The city where Han Xiaowen’s parents lived wasn’t far from where they used to live, and so Lian Fei went there, seeking revenge.

But Han Xiaowen hadn’t visited her home in nearly two years, to evade his harassment. Therefore, he kept disturbing her parents at night using his spiritual power, intending to force her to return home by making them ill.

It appeared he lacked enough spiritual power, and so all he could do was to make them sick, rather than take their lives.

Eventually, his spiritual power increased, causing Han Xiaowen’s mother to fall critically ill and finally luring Han Xiaowen home.

Immediately upon seeing Han Xiaowen, he stuck to her, consequently leading to her mother’s miraculous recovery.

Lian Fei followed Han Xiaowen to Z city, haunting her during the night, thereby disrupting her sleep with nightmarish dreams.

If this continued, her health would deteriorate rapidly, leading to the depletion of her body’s Yang energy and her eventual death.

Initially, Han Xiaowen assumed she was just tired or that her past was haunting her. Thankfully, Lin Xiaoyu sensed something amiss and sought Qin Sisi’s help, thus preventing a tragedy.</p
