The woman’s inner wrist bore an IV needle, connected to a metal stand beside her, which held an unknown liquid in a small bottle.
It must be a nutritional fluid, infused to keep her from dying.
Her eyes were tightly closed. According to Xu Min and Meng Xiaofei, she wasn’t dead, only unconscious.
A vigorous plant was intertwined around her body, its variously thick roots deeply embedded in her flesh, spreading and growing throughout her body until it almost enveloped her entirely.
A root as thick as a small finger had extended to her face, spreading from the right cheek, passing below the nose, and reaching the left cheek, leaving a large circular shadow on her originally fair face.
The plant itself was growing exceptionally vibrantly, only its leaves were not green, but a reddish-brown color.
The shape and size of the leaves were similar to a commonly seen plant, Devil’s Ivy, almost elliptical in shape with pointed ends.
Some leaves even had light red blood dripping from their pointed ends, leaving radiating round stains on the light-colored floor.
Qin Sisi clenched her fists, biting her lip as she turned to Ye You. This was the most horrifying sight she had ever witnessed.
With soft, comforting eyes, Ye You reassured: "Don’t be afraid, I’m here."
After saying this, and after a brief consideration, Ye You threw up his claw, releasing the ghosts of Meng Xiaofei and Xu Min from the Portable Space. He also disbanded the Invisible Bubble, allowing Qin Sisi to interact with them.
Although they were ghosts, in the current situation, they were more comforting than the "human" on the operation table.
Having more people around her might alleviate some of Qin Sisi’s fear.
This was Ye You’s idea, and indeed, it turned out to be right.

Meng Xiaofei said with sadness, "We all went through this. I was the first to experience it. Sisi, we’re really miserable!"
Qin Sisi moved a few steps closer to the operation table. After a moment of consideration, she asked again, "If we destroy the plant now, can she still survive?"
Meng Xiaofei could not answer this question and closed her mouth.
Xu Min followed Qin Sisi to the operation table, took a moment to observe, shook her head and said, "I’m afraid not. Look," Xu Min pointed at a small deep-green sphere on a branch, "The fruit has already formed. In less than half a month, it will mature. Her flesh and blood have been almost entirely drained. Even if we destroy the plant now, I doubt we could save her."
Qin Sisi clenched her teeth. Another life was lost.
According to them, she was at least the fourth person to suffer this fate.

Qin Sisi walked up to the woman on the operation table, looking at her tightly closed eyes, and felt a little at a loss.
She turned to ask Xu Min again, "Is there any way to wake her up?"

With a simple wave, a purple flame of Ziwei Heaven Fire flew towards the reddish-brown plant.
A few seconds later, the plant that was just flourishing had turned to ashes, including its unripe fruit, leaving only the winding roots stuck in the woman’s corpse.
"Well done!" both Meng Xiaofei and Xu Min applauded. It was apparent they hated the plant that had drained their flesh and blood.
Ease appeared on Qin Sisi’s face. The plant itself wasn’t to blame but was merely exploited by evil people.

Qin Sisi remembered seeing many glass containers in the hall on the first floor. They were soaked in a solution with small spheres resembling seeds. She asked Xu Min, "Are those immersed in the glass containers on the first floor seeds?"
Xu Min nodded and answered, "Yes, they are all Gao Xuecai’s experimental materials. When he finds a suitable person to serve as a pot, he chooses the best-developed seed from those containers to start planting."
After confirming her guess, Qin Sisi reminded herself not to leave those experimental supplies on the first floor. They must be utterly destroyed later.
After setting the terrifying plant on fire, Ye You then shot a beam of blue light towards the woman’s head on the operation table.
After a few minutes, the woman slightly opened her eyes.
Upon seeing Qin Sisi, the woman’s wooden expression changed, seemingly pleasantly surprised, her eyes revealing a yearning for survival.

Upon hearing Qin Sisi’s words, the woman’s eyes dimmed, her face turned grey, revealing deep despair.

Ye You reminded from the side, "Look at her hand."
Qin Sisi looked down and saw one of her fingers moving slowly. This finger was lucky enough not to have been invaded by the plant’s roots.
Qin Sisi stretched out her palm, placing the woman’s only movable finger in her palm, and asked, "Can you write?"
The woman nodded, using the only movable finger to write a character on the palm of Qin Sisi’s hand — Death.
