Chapter 341: Chapter 341 Unfortunate Master Huang_1
Mi Xian, his parents and Mi Xian were all stunned for a while before they reacted, then they asked more nervously, "Can you save Mi Jun?"
Qin Sisi nodded seriously and replied: "I can, but not until the break of day."
Min Xian’s parents exchanged a glance, their gazes landed on the unconscious form of Mi Jun on the bed, their emotions complex.
To their surprise and frustration, Master Huang, in whom they had placed so much hope, had failed.
And Qin Sisi’s sudden claim to being a mage offered them a glimmer of new hope, but was Qin Sisi someone they could trust?
Although Mi Xian’s parents harbored doubts, they couldn’t think of any other options at this point. They could only wait until daylight to see how Qin Sisi planned to act.
Qin Sisi reassured Mi Xian and his parents, then said, "Stay here with Mi Jun, I am going out to check if Master Huang has run far."
Father Mixian exclaimed in annoyance, "I’ll come with you. We need to catch that fraud!"
Qin Sisi shook her head in refusal: "I can move very quickly. You couldn’t keep up with me. It’s best if I go alone."
Before Father Mixian could say anything more, Qin Sisi had already strode out of the room and into the vast night outside.
Father Mixian hesitated a bit, but in the end, he did not follow her.
Qin Sisi’s firm attitude, paired with her self-proclaimed mage status, hinted that she might possess some unusual abilities.
The family of three exchanged glances, after sighing a few times, they then laid their thoughts on Mi Jun who was unconscious.
As Qin Sisi left the Mixian household rapidly, the Invisible Bubble had expired its effective period, it was inconvenient to use the Wings of Rainbow again so Ye You gathered their magic into a silver sphere, following the path they’d come from.
Ye You carefully searched the darkness with their purple eyes whilst amplifying their magic output, propelling the silver sphere ahead at high speed.
The sky was pitch black. Master Huang was only a layman with a bit of mana, so he shouldn’t have gotten far.
As a result, Master Huang didn’t run as far as they had imagined.
Just as Qin Sisi and Ye You exited the village, they heard a trembling cry for help from a vegetable field by the road.
Ye You and Qin Sisi landed gently on the ground, Ye You withdrew the silver sphere and ignited the Ziwei Heaven Fire with its paw.
Guided by the light of the Ziwei Heaven Fire, Qin Sisi cautiously moved towards the source of the cries for help.
On closer inspection, it was Master Huang, who ran away in a panic from the concubine ghost.
Master Huang was so frightened by the concubine ghost that he tumbled and scrambled his way out of Mi Xian’s home. He ran towards the outskirts of the village in terror, but due to his unfamiliarity with the terrain, he fell into a vegetable field near the village entrance.
There was a one-meter height difference between the field and the road, and Master Huang fell down and injured his foot. He couldn’t walk.
His phone had also fallen and was lost when he stumbled, and he couldn’t find it in the pitch-black environment.
Master Huang could only cry for help, but there weren’t many villagers near the entrance and everyone was asleep at this hour. Despite his yelling, nobody appeared.
Just as Master Huang was on the verge of despair, he saw a faint purple glow, seeming like someone was coming.
Master Huang paid no mind to the color or source of the light, and called out in a mixture of fear and joy, "Good Samaritan, save me! Please save me."
When Master Huang saw that the person coming was Qin Sisi, his face changed colors in a span of seconds like a chameleon, turning pale, then flushing deep red.
Qin Sisi asked in feigned confusion, "Master Huang, weren’t you treating Mi Jun? How did you end up in a vegetable field?"
Master Huang forced a laugh that was more pitiful than crying and managed to say, "That’s... a long story. Please help me up first and I’ll explain everything."
Master Huang no longer dared to refer to himself as a "great master", and was reluctant to admit his failure. He was too ashamed to have it publicly known—how could he continue his work if people knew?
What Master Huang didn’t know was that Qin Sisi, tucked away in her Invisible Bubble, had witnessed his entire confrontation with the concubine ghost.
Qin Sisi raised her eyebrows and said, "I’ll help you, but give back the money Father Mixian paid you first."
Master Huang paused, his eyes rolling about before saying, "Yes, yes, yes. I am immensely grateful for Miss Qin’s help. Once I get back, I’ll surely offer a reward as a token of my gratitude."
Qin Sisi sneered, raising her voice to say, "I don’t want your reward. Taking money for others’ misfortunes – since you failed to fulfill your duties, you should return the money to its rightful owner."
Only then did Master Huang understand Qin Sisi’s meaning. He groaned, "Miss Qin, as you can see, this money I earned is at risk of my life. Even if I haven’t succeeded, I’ve surely put in the effort, right? If you ask me to return all the money, I will..."
Qin Sisi squinted her eyes, "You still have the audacity to speak! I haven’t even settled the Peach Wood Nail matter with you yet!"
Upon hearing this, Master Huang puffed up his chest, "What’s wrong with the Peach Wood Nail thing? I did very well on that. I was helping the villagers solve a problem, and what I received was merely a justified reward, wasn’t it?"
Looking at Master Huang’s righteous face, Qin Sisi felt a wave of anger welling up, and she suppressed her fury before cursing, "Helping to solve a problem? You are the one who made things worse, you know? Didn’t you know that the couple who hired you have already died?"
"Dead?!" Master Huang’s mouth hung open in surprise and he spoke in a meek voice, "Miss Qin, you aren’t just trying to scare me, are you?"
Qin Sisi retorted exasperated, "Who has the time to scare you! If you can’t handle a job, don’t take it on. You should know what you’re capable of. All you’ve done is make a mess of things."
Seeing that Qin Sisi didn’t seem to be merely making things up, Master Huang shivered a little and spoke in a small voice, "Miss Qin, how could this happen? I’ve used the Peach Wood Nail once before, and it worked perfectly – there was no problem at all. The situation for that family returned to normal. Why didn’t it work this time?"
Qin Sisi contemplated for a while. After all, it was an unintended mistake on Master Huang’s part. No one could have guessed that the old grandfather’s ghost was not in the tomb.
Moreover, when it came down to it, it was the selfishness and heartlessness of the old man’s son and daughter-in-law that led to this. They got what they deserved.
Qin Sisi sighed, "Never mind. No one could have foreseen this. I advise you though, given your limited mana, you should stick to summoning souls for children in the future. Don’t engage in anything else; you might end up risking your life if you’re not careful."
Master Huang bobbed his head eagerly, "Yes, yes, yes. You’re right, Miss Qin. I will change, I will change.
So, Miss Qin, can you help me get up now?"
