Chapter 314: Chapter 314: Searching for Mom_1

Despite Qin Sisi’s gentle coaxing, the little girl remained unappreciative, continuing to sob uncontrollably while pleading, "Let me go, I need to go back to the road to wait for my mother, or she will not find me, boo hoo..."

Helplessly, Qin Sisi turned towards Ye You for help.

Ye You approached the little girl, leaped forward, and astonishingly halted in mid-air, meowing at the girl.

The little girl, entranced by the flying black cat, stared blankly at Ye You, momentarily ceasing her sobs.

Seizing the opportunity, Ye You placed a paw on the girl’s forehead, rapidly accessing her finite memories.

After a moment, Ye You withdrew his paw from the girl and said to Qin Sisi, "Car accident."

Qin Sisi’s heart tightened as she looked at the girl with sympathy.

With the standard of living rising in recent years and private cars becoming more common, traffic has become increasingly congested, and car accidents have become disturbingly commonplace.

According to Ye You, the little girl’s name should be Qian Qian.

Two years ago, Qian Qian’s mother was taking her to kindergarten on an electric scooter when a car hit them while they were turning at the intersection of Sifang Street.

Qian Qian’s mother fell to the side of the road with a leg injury, while little Qian Qian was thrown seven or eight meters away into the flowerbed in the middle of the road, dying instantly.

Although Qian Qian’s mother was injured, she did not pass out. Seeing her lively daughter suddenly dead, the mother was left inconsolably wailing in unbearable grief.

In her mother’s weeping, Qian Qian ignored the call of the Messenger of Death and chose to stay by her mother’s side.

However, when her mother and her own body got taken away by an ambulance, her weak spiritual power was insufficient for her to follow her mother. She had to return to the flowerbed where she met her death, waiting for her mother to bring her home.

Sadly, day after day, two years passed, and Qian Qian never saw her mother again.

Gradually, Qian Qian gained some spiritual power. Seeing the traffic on the road, she harbored hatred for these machines which had robbed her of her life.

As a result, she began to interfere with some passing cars on the dark, Yin-energy-infused nights.

Her spiritual powers were not sufficient to cause major accidents. What she could do was use her limited powers to briefly transform into a blinding light, affecting drivers’ vision, causing them to panic and ultimately trigger minor accidents.

After hearing Ye You’s account, Qin Sisi sighed in relief, grateful that Qian Qian hadn’t caused any actual killings, which should not affect her future fate.

Recalling her sitting on the pruned holly in the flowerbed singing, Qin Sisi was almost certain that her wish must be to find her mother.

Qian Qian, whose attention was previously attracted by Ye You, had quieted down for a while. But now, her mood seemed unstable again, and she started to sob quietly.

Approaching Qian Qian, Qin Sisi softly said, "Qian Qian, stop crying, I can help you find your mother."

At the mention of "mother", Qian Qian immediately halted her crying and anxiously asked, "Really? Can you really help me find my mother?"

Her two grape-like big eyes were sparkling, and her long eyelashes were still wet with crystal-clear tears, which softened anyone’s heart.

Qin Sisi nodded, smiling, and said, "Yes, but I need you to tell me more about your mother in order to help you."

Perhaps due to Qian Qian’s young age and the fact that it was already two years since her death, her memories had become somewhat blurry. Her last memories at the time of death were the clearest.

Ye You, of course, couldn’t help with things she herself didn’t remember clearly.

Qian Qian nodded at Qin Sisi, furrowed her little brows, and started to recall things about her mother.

Ye You reminded from the side, "You should call Lan Di for help. He also needs to gather information about Qi Xiaoxia. There isn’t much time left. Otherwise, we would have to wait until tomorrow night."

Qin Sisi nodded, checked the time on her phone, and it was almost three in the morning. By four o’clock, the Yang energy in the air would begin to revive, and ghosts had to hide to avoid being harmed by the Yang energy.

She went to a cabinet, took out a packet of yellow paper, and since she knew there would be a lot of collaboration with Lan Di, she bought a large number of yellow papers and stored them.

Qin Sisi handed the yellow paper to Ye You. Ye You lightly waved a paw, and a sprinkle of silvery sparks floated into the yellow paper.

Then, Qin Sisi took the yellow paper to the northwest corner of the room and used the Fire Ignition Skill to burn the paper.

The lightweight, floating yellow paper quickly turned to black ashes amid intertwining red, yellow, and blue flames.

When all the yellow paper had turned to ashes, a gust of chilly wind blew from an unknown direction, causing the black ashes to whirl around like black butterflies dancing in the air.

Subsequently, a cheerful voice rang out in the room, "Miss Sisi, it’s been a long time!"

With his blue hair, blue skin, blue clothes, and blue shoes, Lan Di appeared before Qin Sisi and Ye You, jauntily saluting Qin Sisi with a clicking finger and giving Ye You a suggestive lift of his eyebrows.

Ye You, unresponsive, lazily half-closed his eyes on the couch, silent.

Qin Sisi took a few moments to evaluate Lan Di before responding with a smile, "It has been a long time indeed. You look even bluer, which suggests an increase in your spiritual power!"

Lan Di chuckled and replied, "I have to thank your Mr. Black Cat for that!"

My Mr. Black Cat?

A flush of embarrassment flashed across Qin Sisi’s face. Nobody in her circle knew about her black cat boyfriend and, naturally, no one made a fuss about it either.

Only Lan Di knew about her relationship with Ye You and teased her about it each time they met.

Qin Sisi was awkward but felt some bashful joy in her heart.

Qin Sisi stole a glimpse at Ye You, then calmly said to Lan Di, "I have a favor to ask."

"Oh, come off it. I know you don’t call me unless there’s something up. I’m used to it," Lan Di grumbled half-heartedly, settling down on the couch.

He turned his head to see Qian Qian, who was trying hard to recollect her past, and exclaimed with delight, "Wow... where did this adorable little girl come from? Such a cutey!"

From the side, Qin Sisi said, "You find her cute, don’t you? Then help her find her mother!"

Lan Di nodded, "Sure, give me her birth date and time."

Qin Sisi was taken aback. How could Qian Qian possibly know her exact birth details?

Ye You looked at Lan Di, remarking coldly, "Quit playing games. We don’t have her birth date and time, only her name, the method and approximate time of her death. The rest is for you to investigate."
