Upon receiving the "little token of appreciation" handed over by Mrs. Ding, Qin Sisi hesitated for a moment.
Although she knew some reward money was expected, the volume of the small suitcase indicated that the cash inside should be substantial.
For having spent so little time and effort, the amount of money she was receiving felt like a hot potato in her hands.
Boss Zheng seemed to have anticipated Qin Sisi’s thoughts. Before she could even react, he reached out to take the small suitcase for her, exchanging pleasantries with Mr. and Mrs. Ding jovially. The atmosphere was warm and friendly.
Ding Jiayuan, feeling somewhat reluctant to part ways, cajoled Qin Sisi into giving her phone number and even lovingly stroked Ye You’s head.
Ye You buried his head into Qin Sisi’s chest in an attempt to hide his displeasure.
Qin Sisi comforted Ye You with her gentle touch while forcing a smile at Ding Jiayuan.
Honestly, she did not like others touching Ye You.
After bidding farewell, Qin Sisi and Boss Zheng returned to their car. Boss Zheng, now driving, departed from the Ding’s Mansion.
The small suitcase had been handed over to Qin Sisi. She sat in the passenger seat, placed the suitcase on her lap, and opened it.
Piles of neat Renminbi banknotes lay inside. Qin Sisi briefly counted them and then looked to Boss Zheng in shock.
A hundred thousand!
She had thought that for a matter that could be resolved overnight, it would be quite good to earn two or three tens of thousands.
A faint smile hung at the corner of Boss Zheng’s mouth as he joked, "Shocked? You’ve seen this much money before."
After all, Qin Sisi had already made several hundreds of thousands selling items at his store.
Qin Sisi forced a smile and replied, "I haven’t seen this much... cash."
Boss Zheng laughed heartily, saying, "Well then, take a good look. Just don’t let it blind your pretty big eyes."
Feeling embarrassed, Qin Sisi laughed lightly. Remembering her prior verbal agreement with Boss Zheng to give him thirty percent of any money she made, she took out three stacks of Renminbi from the suitcase and put them on the dashboard.
She then turned to Boss Zheng and said, "Uncle Zheng, here’s your finder’s fee."
Boss Zheng was not modest in the least. He nodded with a smile, "It appears I’m quite lucky. I’ve made thirty thousand just by moving my lips."
Qin Sisi pursed her lips and laughed, "Uncle Zheng, you’re such a joker. This all happened thanks to you orchestrating the overall situation behind the scenes!"
If it weren’t for Boss Zheng’s connections and reputation, it’s doubtful anyone would have believed in Qin Sisi’s abilities.
Everyone loves compliments, especially those that are practical and genuine.
Qin Sisi’s humble attitude made Boss Zheng even more cheerful. He waved his hand and said, "Alright, alright. Let’s not beat around the bush. I’m just going to ask you one thing, if something like this happens again, will you do it?"
"Do it." Qin Sisi immediately responded. If she could collect ghosts and make money, why not?
Boss Zheng slapped his thigh and said enthusiastically, "Great! Together, we’ll for sure become very prosperous and well-known!"
Qin Sisi smiled without responding. Being prosperous or well-known wasn’t too important to her. The most important thing was gathering the ghosts that Ye You needed.
First, Boss Zheng dropped Qin Sisi off at her home before heading back to Ju Ya Zhai in the antique market.
When Qin Sisi got home, it was a little past three-thirty in the morning. She had been busy for almost the entire night.
After storing the small suitcase full of money, Qin Sisi tidied up a bit and then got ready for bed with Ye You.
As usual, Ye You gently kissed the back of Qin Sisi’s hand and her lips.
Even though Ye You had done these small gestures countless times, Qin Sisi still found herself experiencing heart palpitations.
Suddenly remembering Ding Jiayuan’s glimmering big eyes, Qin Sisi teasingly said, "Who would have thought you’d have so many admirers."
Ye You lifted his head to look at Qin Sisi, his gaze deep. He was silent for a moment before suddenly bursting out, "And what’s that to do with me?"
Qin Sisi was taken aback and found herself speechless.
Ye You lowered his head again to nuzzle Qin Sisi’s forehead, whispering softly, "I only like one."
The small boat in her heart rocked violently with the surging waves. Qin Sisi’s lips lifted into a sweet, shy smile.
"Good night." Ye You whispered, as the lights dimmed. The room fell into silence, filled only with Qin Sisi’s soft breathing.
She woke up naturally when she had enough sleep, and by the time she woke up, it was almost noon.
Qin Sisi picked up her phone intending to check the time, instead, she found an unread message.
Upon opening it, she found that it was from Boss Zheng, asking her to call him back when she had time.
Qin Sisi figured Boss Zheng probably knew she was sleeping hence he didn’t call and just sent a message.
Qin Sisi sat up, stretched her arms, cleared her mind, and dialed Boss Zheng’s number.
Boss Zheng picked up quickly, "Sisi, have you woken up!"
Although Boss Zheng did not say much, Qin Sisi could sense some urgency in his tone. Perplexed, she asked, "Boss Zheng, is anything the matter?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line before Boss Zheng replied, "Indeed, there’s a bit of a situation. Could you come to Ju Ya Zhai today?"
After a moment of thought, Qin Sisi realized she didn’t have anything planned for the day. She replied, "Okay, wait for me a while. I’ll be there in two hours."
Boss Zheng let out a sigh of relief, "Good, I’ll be at Ju Ya Zhai. Just come straight in when you arrive. I’ve informed the sales guide at the entrance."
"Okay." After Qin Sisi responded, they said goodbye and ended the call.
Qin Sisi turned her head to find that Ye You was already awake, his pair of purple eyes looking at her.
Qin Sisi waved her phone and said, "Boss Zheng asked me to come over today."
"What’s so urgent?" Ye You asked.
Qin Sisi shook her head to show her ignorance, then hesitated before adding, "His tone sounded a little off."
"In what way?" Ye You inquired further.
Furrowing her brow, Qin Sisi thought for a while before replying, "I’m not sure, it just felt like something was up."
Ye You’s gaze flickered for a moment before saying, "Then let’s quickly have breakfast and head over there."
After their interaction in several matters, Ye You’s impression of Boss Zheng was quite good. He was not a person to make a fuss about nothing. There surely must be a difficult issue at hand.
Qin Sisi nodded and hurriedly got out of bed, washing up before going to make breakfast.
After breakfast, Qin Sisi packed up, and with Ye You, they headed out, hailing a taxi to the antique market.
Upon arriving at Ju Ya Zhai, sure enough, the sales guide saw Qin Sisi enter, exchanged a polite smile with her, and gestured for her to proceed without saying a word.
Qin Sisi nodded in acknowledgment and directly headed towards the inner chamber of Ju Ya Zhai.
