Chapter 301: 301

After all the blossoms turn into honey, for whom did we toil, and for whom will it taste sweet? 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Qin Sisi paused for a moment, took a long breath, without denial or explanation, she simply responded with a soft "Thank you".

Ye You cast a deep look at Qin Sisi and waved his claw, summoning the Spirit Conversion Bottle.

The snow-white Spirit Conversion Bottle fell into Xiao Lu’s eyes, appearing sanctified and mysterious.

The Spirit Conversion Bottle was slowly rotating in the void. Xiao Lu gradually felt its pull and call, gently closed her eyes, her delicate figure faded into a hazy white mist, and drifted into the Spirit Conversion Bottle.

By this point, all four ghosts found in Leike’s family had been successfully subdued by Qin Sisi.

At the same time, the effect duration of the Invisible Bubble ended, revealing Qin Sisi and Ye You’s figures.

Luckily, everyone’s attention was on the wedding, so no one noticed Qin Sisi in the corner.

Qin Sisi checked the time, it was only eight in the morning. She remembered the crucifix with spiritual power taken from Leike, and decided to go to Ju Ya Zhai to see if Boss Zheng would help her sell it.

Qin Sisi informed Ye You and quickly left the neighborhood. At the neighborhood’s entrance, she hailed a taxi and went to the antique market.

Entering Ju Ya Zhai, a young sales associate was busy cleaning.

The sales associate recognized Qin Sisi and greeted her with a smile, "Ms. Qin, come to see our boss? Wait a moment, I’ll get him for you."

Qin Sisi returned a polite smile and nodded, "Thank you."

"You’re welcome."

The sales associate entered the back room, and soon, Boss Zheng appeared.

Upon seeing Qin Sisi, a kind smile graced Boss Zheng’s face. He greeted her warmly, "What a coincidence, I was planning on calling you!"

Qin Sisi asked curiously, "Do you need something, Uncle Zheng?"

There was a glint in Boss Zheng’s eyes as he responded, "We’ll talk about it inside."

"Sure." Qin Sisi nodded.

Boss Zheng led Qin Sisi to the inner chamber in the rear of Ju Ya Zhai, which was still exuding a classic, elegant ambiance.

Boss Zheng invited Qin Sisi to sit at the tea table, then brewed a pot of Tie Guanyin tea, his slender and skilled fingers were a sight to behold.

Then, Boss Zheng initiated the conversation, "Sisi, my situation is a bit complicated, why don’t you go first and tell me why you’ve come to see me today!"

Qin Sisi curved her lips slightly and said, "Today, I happened upon a Spiritual Artifact and I was hoping Uncle Zheng could evaluate how much it’s worth."

As she spoke, Qin Sisi gripped Ye You’s claw, thus the crucifix was taken out from the Portable Space and quickly placed in Qin Sisi’s hand.

Boss Zheng nodded and said, "Alright, let me have a look."

Qin Sisi handed over the crucifix.

Boss Zheng received it and squinted at it for a moment, then commented in a low voice, "It does have some spiritual essence, but it’s not in great condition. It’s a step down compared to the House-guarding Treasure Sword and Bronze Bagua Mirror from last time."

Qin Sisi silently nodded in agreement. Ye You had mentioned before that the spiritual essence of this crucifix was low – it could deal with the few weak ghosts that had been bound, but against stronger ghosts, it wouldn’t be very effective.

Boss Zheng looked inquisitively at Qin Sisi. Qin Sisi just smiled and replied, "That’s fine, it was something I stumbled upon. I’ll take whatever price you think is reasonable!"

Boss Zheng’s eyes flickered and he asked, "Is the origin of the item still a bit dubious?"

Qin Sisi couldn’t help feeling a little embarrassed. All the items she brought to sell had unclear origins. She wondered if Boss Zheng viewed her as a thief who exclusively steals spiritual artifacts.

Boss Zheng could tell the answer from Qin Sisi’s expression and replied reassuringly, "It’s alright. Spiritual Artifacts are often unfathomable and many of them come from unclear backgrounds, but that does tend to impact their selling price."

Qin Sisi nodded and said, "I understand, Uncle Zheng, please propose a price."

Boss Zheng’s gaze landed on the crucifix as he mused, "Sisi, don’t say I’m ripping you off. Crucifixes are a tough sell because not everyone likes foreign religious symbols. Considering its subpar quality, I can only offer you thirty thousand."

Compared to the items sold before, the price was indeed not high.

However, for Qin Sisi, she had obtained it easily, without spending much effort or time, so she didn’t feel too disappointed.

She nodded again and replied, "I trust Uncle Zheng. I agree with your price."

"Good." Boss Zheng responded with a smile. He stood up and called over a sales associate to help him store the crucifix and to process the transfer of funds to Qin Sisi.

Once the transaction was completed, Qin Sisi and Boss Zheng once again took their seats at the round table to savor the mysterious, floral Tie Guanyin tea.

Qin Sisi looked at Boss Zheng and asked, "Uncle Zheng, what did you need me for?"

Boss Zheng contemplated a moment before replying at a leisurely pace, "I recall that you can vanquish ghosts and dispel evil."

Qin Sisi thought it over and was likely able to predict Boss Zheng’s intent. She responded modestly, "I wouldn’t venture to call it a knack. I was merely guided by someone knowledgeable and managed to pick up a bit of knowledge."

Boss Zheng took a sip of tea and said, "Sisi, you don’t need to be modest. Here’s the thing: I have a client who suspects that his home is being haunted by an evil spirit. He wants to hire a mage to take a look. Would you be interested?"

Qin Sisi pretended to ponder, then glanced down at Ye You

Although Ye You remained quietly nestled in Qin Sisi’s arms, she noticed a slight twitch in his ear.

Of course, they were interested. Who would turn down a possible ghost that came knocking on its own?

A smile welled up in Qin Sisi’s heart. She looked at Boss Zheng with a calm expression and replied, "I would like to give it a try."

Boss Zheng was pleased with Qin Sisi’s straightforward commitment but still cautioned, "Sisi, I don’t know the extent of your abilities. I can only advise you to act in accordance with your capabilities. If you encounter any difficulties, don’t force yourself, to prevent possible danger."

If a mage is insufficiently skilled, but insists on confronting or exorcising a powerful ghost, it’s very likely they’d be harmed by the ghost instead.

Qin Sisi nodded and replied, "Thank you for the reminder, Uncle Zheng. When are we leaving?"

Boss Zheng thought for a moment and answered, "Let me first get in touch with him and confirm the timing. I’ll let you know when it’s finalized."

"Good." Qin Sisi nodded in agreement.

With the crucifix sold and matters discussed, Qin Sisi didn’t want to impose any further. She stood up, bid Boss Zheng farewell, and left.

Boss Zheng smiled and said, "I won’t hold you back. Prepare yourself when you go home, I have a feeling things will move quickly."

There was gravity in Boss Zheng’s voice.

Qin Sisi responded with a serious expression, the picked up Ye You and left Ju Ya Zhai, heading back to her own home.
