Chapter 276: Chapter 276: The Ghost in the Mirror_1
After finishing her meal, Qin Sisi told Lin Shan and filled a large bowl that Ye You had just drank water from with some food, and placed it in front of Ye You.
Ye You complained accusingly at Qin Sisi, with a hint of grievance in his voice, "I’m already almost full."
Qin Sisi glanced around to see that Lin Shan and Chen Lan were busy with their own matters and nobody was paying attention to her, so she picked up Ye You and quickly headed to the balcony.
"We’re in someone else’s home, it might not be right to serve you the food first. Let me know what you want to eat and I can prepare it when we get home." Qin Sisi explained guilty to Ye You, with an awkward expression.
Ye You sighed and softened his stance, "Forget about it, you’ve served it anyway, at least you still have some conscience."
Qin Sisi was taken aback and argued resentfully: "What’s that about still having some conscience? Don’t push your luck!"
Ye You cast a deep glance at Qin Sisi, ate a mouthful of food, and calmly asked, "Am I the male?"
"Uhm..." Qin Sisi touched her head, not knowing how to respond. Lin Shan asked if he was a "male" or a "female", so she can’t surely answer "female" right!
Ye You continued: "Then, are you the female?"
"..." Qin Sisi stood there frustratingly, unable to refute it, it was her who first called Ye You the "male".
Seeing Qin Sisi’s embarrassing expression, a mocking smile flashed through Ye You’s eyes. Proceeding to ask, "Then can we mate?"
A heart pounded violently in her chest. Qin Sisi looked at Ye You, and the profound meaning in Yin You’s eyes made her feel rushed and ashamed.
"I won’t talk to you anymore." Qin Sisi muttered and rushed back to the living room.
As Qin Sisi’s flustered figure disappeared from Ye You’s sight, he lowered his head with a smile in his eyes.
Ye You quickly finished the food Qin Sisi had given him, and then elegantly returned to the living room.
Qin Sisi was sitting on the couch, looking at her phone with her head down, her mind was actually a total mess and she could not understand anything.
When Ye You returned, Qin Sisi’s already flushed cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red.
Just when Lin Shan finished washing the dishes and walked over to them, she looked at Qin Sisi and asked loudly, "Eh? Sisi, why is your face so red?"
Qin Sisi stammered in reply, "Really? Maybe... because it’s too hot in N City!"
Lin Shan believed her by nodding and saying, "Yes, it’s winter in S City now, the temperature difference between the two places is too big."
Qin Sisi responded absently with a few "mmm" noises due to the sight of Ye You’s mocking purple eyes and lowered her head even more.
The atmosphere gradually started to turn tense and oppressive as night fell.
Qin Sisi addressed Lin Shan first, "Shan Shan, this matter has nothing to do with you, it’s best if you don’t get involved. Go back to your room and rest. Come out after daybreak."
Previously, to let Lin Shan and her sister Lin Ying say a proper goodbye, Qin Sisi had given Lin Ying the Revealing Soul Pill, enabling Lin Shan to be with Lin Ying’s ghost for a whole day and night.
In practical terms, human beings are not supposed to interact with ghosts.
The human body is a balanced entity between Yin and Yang, while ghosts only carry Yin energy. If they touch each other for too long or too often, the health and fortune of the human being will be affected.
Qin Sisi did not want Lin Shan to come into contact with ghosts again.
Moreover, based on the current situation, the ghost seems to be here for Chen Lan only, it has nothing to do with Lin Shan. Thus, her involvement made no sense.
Lin Shan knew that Qin Sisi meant well and with her inability to help, she agreed to Qin Sisi’s suggestion, "Fine, I’ll avoid for now then, take care of yourselves."
Both Qin Sisi and Chen Lan nodded, Lin Shan turned around, inhabited her own bedroom, and shut the door.
Chen Lan looked at Qin Sisi anxiously, unsure what method she would use.
Qin Sisi picked up Ye You and told Chen Lan, "Let’s go to your room."
"Okay." Chen Lan got up and led Qin Sisi to her bedroom.
Chen Lan’s bedroom was as plain and clean as her clothes: beige curtains, light blue printed sheets, and a dried flower pot placed on the bedside table, arranged in a very elegant shape.
It appeared that Chen Lan was someone who enjoyed life.
While thinking about this, Qin Sisi looked around.
There was a beige dressing table next to the end of the bed against the wall. The surface was adorned with cosmetics and small accessories, and above it was an oval-shaped mirror.
Upon seeing the mirror, Qin Sisi naturally thought of Ye You, on the night of the full moon, Ye You could reveal his true form through the mirror.
Since then, Qin Sisi felt strangely eerie whenever she saw a mirror.
Qin Sisi looked down at Ye You in her arms, and Ye You was also looking at that mirror.
Ye You’s purple eyes slightly narrowed, and the gleam in his pupils was seemingly penetrating everything.
Quite a few suspicions came up in Qin Sisi’s mind, but she couldn’t communicate with Ye You since Chen Lan was present, so she suppressed them temporarily.
Upon Qin Sisi’s command, Chen Lan went to bed to sleep, but how could she sleep in this state of mind?
Upon seeing Chen Lan tossing and turning, Qin Sisi had no choice but to look towards Ye You for help.
Ye You slightly raised his paw, a gentle shade of purple flew and revolved around Chen Lan’s head a few times.
Soon, Chen Lan felt a wave of drowsiness rush up like a surging tide. She closed her eyes and instantly fell asleep.
Qin Sisi looked at the time, it was half-past ten at night, so they waited for another half an hour.
At about eleven o’clock at night, Ye You opened an invisible bubble and concealed him and Qin Sisi. He lit up the heavenly fire of Ziwei with his paw and then retreated to the corner of the room, watching the actions within the room from the darkness.
At about forty minutes past eleven, suddenly, a faint white mist floated out of the mirror.
Qin Sisi’s spirits were instantly lifted and she watched the mirror intently.
After a while, the mirror returned to normal, but the white mist slowly gathered together, becoming denser, and denser, until finally the white mist disappeared, revealing a clear figure.
It is a girl, a fifteen to sixteen-years-old blossom, shoulder-length hair trimmed into a pear cut.
She wore a white blouse, with red and white checkered collar and cuffs, and matching short-skirt, very much like a school uniform.
She wore light-colored stockings on her legs, and a pair of lively white casual shoes on her feet.
From the angle where Qin Sisi was standing, she could only see the side and back of the girl, not her face.
The girl made of white mist took a pause, and then she slowly hovered over to Chen Lan, who was lying on the bed.
