Chapter 269: Chapter 269: The Last Half Hour_1
After hearing Qin Sisi’s words, Teacher Yang’s eyes dimmed slightly and finally, she slowly nodded. She looked down at the baby in her arms with a look of loving tenderness.
Perhaps this little angel could help Teacher Yang forget about those unhappy moments!
Thinking of this, Qin Sisi looked at the chubby little baby again. The child had been signaling for a while and was getting impatient as its mother had not yet fed it. It was angrily protesting with it’s small fists clenched, "huffing and puffing." It was both adorable and amusing.
A smile appeared on Qin Sisi’s lips, she said to Teacher Yang, "Teacher Yang, you should go feed him now. I’ll be heading out."
Teacher Yang smiled helplessly and sincerely instructed, "Sisi, if you insist on leaving, there’s nothing I can do. Be very careful, keep your mobile with you, and call me if anything happens."
Qin Sisi nodded and obediently responded, "Okay Teacher Yang, I will send you a text when I get home."
After bidding goodbye to Teacher Yang and Sister Wang, Qin Sisi left with Ye You.
She hadn’t put on her temperature-regulated coat when she arrived, and the moment she stepped outside, she was hit by a gust of cold wind that sent a chill through her spine.
It was just past three in the morning, and everything around was silent. A few twinkling stars hung against the deep blue sky.
It was the 15th of the month. A round full moon hung brightly in the sky, so clear that even the craters on the moon were visible.
Qin Sisi and Ye You shared a look, neither spoke as they simultaneously summoned the Wings of Rainbow and raised the Invisible Bubble.
Qin Sisi commanded the Wings of Rainbow, using all her strength to flap the giant wings. She flew towards her home at the fastest speed.
At half-past three, Qin Sisi had returned home.
Qin Sisi jumped in from the balcony window and continued into the room. As she walked, she asked Ye You, "Do we still have time?"
Ye You replied a little disheartened, "We have half an hour more."
At four o’clock, the yang energy in the air begins to rise, impacting the yin energy in the mirror, thus preventing Ye You from revealing his true form through the mirror.
"Only half an hour?" Qin Sisi was somewhat disappointed, but thinking about it again, having half an hour was not bad either, as long as they could meet.
So, Qin Sisi quickly changed into white clothes. Just as she was about to take Ye You to the bathroom, she remembered her promise to Teacher Yang. She quickly took out her mobile and sent a text to Teacher Yang, informing her that she has arrived home safely and not to worry.
Then, Qin Sisi carried Ye You into the bathroom, locked the door, and used fire magic to light two candles placed on either side of the mirror.
Then, crossing her hands over her chest, she closed her eyes and began to count silently, "One, two, three, four..."
After counting to "thirteen", Qin Sisi slowly opened her eyes.
In the mirror, there stood Ye You, dressed in black, elegant and handsome, standing quietly, a slight smile playing on his lips.
Qin Sisi stood outside the mirror, just as quiet, in her cute white coat. Having just returned from outside, she hadn’t yet tidied herself up. Her long jet-black hair was somewhat disheveled, and her face showed signs of exhaustion.
"You must be tired." Ye You spoke, his voice low and soothing, like a clear stream in the mountains.
Qin Sisi shook her head slightly, saying softly, "I’m fine."
Ye You looked at Qin Sisi standing in front of him, delicate yet stubborn. He longed to hold her in his arms and comfort her softly.
But, he couldn’t.
Ye You sighed and had no choice but to ask seriously, "Were you scared of that ghost today?"
The blood-covered flesh, the eyes like those of a demon, was indeed the most terrifying ghost Qin Sisi had ever seen.
After thinking for a moment, Qin Sisi said, "I was a little scared at first. But knowing who he was, I wasn’t particularly frightened. He was just a child, a very pitiful child."
Ye You blinked and continued, "Your reaction was good, thinking so quickly that a mother’s embrace would move him."
Qin Sisi was a bit embarrassed being praised, she lowered her eyes and said, "Any child who has never been loved would naturally crave motherly love. This wasn’t difficult to anticipate. What about you? After fighting with him for so long, you must be tired, right?"
Shaking his head slightly, Ye You said, "Not at all; his fury was strong, but his spiritual power wasn’t. It was not difficult to manage."
Qin Sisi looked at Ye You’s handsome face and purple eyes in the mirror and hesitated.
Seeing Qin Sisi’s conflicted expression, Ye You asked, "What do you want to ask? Go ahead."
Qin Sisi hesitated for a moment and asked, "Can you tell me now what wish my parents asked you to fulfill?"
After witnessing the sadness and helplessness between Teacher Yang and the blood baby tonight, and experiencing a mother’s lingering love for her child, Qin Sisi suddenly wanted to know what wish her parents had made when they offered their soul power. Was it related to her?
Ye You’s eyes flickered, his voice was deep and enchanting as he said, "Do you really want to know?"
Qin Sisi paused and nodded seriously.
Ye You chuckled lightly and said, "Can’t you guess it? It’s quite simple."
Qin Sisi looked at Ye You in puzzlement, uncertainly asking, "Is it related to me?"
Ye You’s mouth curled in a slight smile, and he replied, "Of course."
Qin Sisi looked at Ye You, his purple eyes sparkling and radiant, imbued with subtle emotions.
Qin Sisi had an inkling of what the wish might be but was unsure. Eventually, she softly asked Ye You, "Could you tell me?"
Ye You paused. Initially, he hesitated to say, fearing that Qin Sisi would not accept it. But now, there was no longer such concern.
There was a mutual understanding and commitment between them. That wish given in promise was just the icing on the cake.
Ye You gazed deeply at Qin Sisi and said in a low and clear voice, "I promised them that I would take good care of you and give you a happy life."
So it was.
Qin Sisi took a deep breath, feeling a sense of bitterness in her heart.
The last wish of any parent is often related to their child, hoping she would still live well even without their care.
Although Qin Sisi had thought her parents would wish for her happiness, she hadn’t expected that they asked Ye You to care for her. Did her parents know that Ye You was not a cat?
Qin Sisi looked somewhat perplexed at Ye You and asked, "Did they know you are not a cat?"
Ye You nodded and replied, "I wrote and told them."
Qin Sisi remembered, Ye You, before she had made the Blood Covenant with him, had indeed communicated with her by magically writing on paper.
