Chapter 223: Chapter 223: Starting off on the Wrong Foot_1

Zhu Zihao’s face revealed a determined expression as he nodded, "Yes, that’s why I need Ms. Qin to help me out."

Ghosts cannot be exposed to daylight, but Qin Sisi managed, probably thanks to that black cat. However, Zhu Zihao believes that the black cat is nothing more than Qin Sisi’s pet and would undoubtedly obey her.

Also, this was part of their earlier agreement. Qin Sisi would not kill but she could provide advantageous circumstances.

Qin Sisi looked at Ye You; she presently couldn’t perform such a task, so she had to see what Ye You thought.

Perceiving Qin Sisi’s inquiring eyes, Ye You slightly nodded.

Seeing that Ye You had agreed, Qin Sisi felt relieved, then turned to Zhu Zihao and asked, "When do you plan to start?"

Zhu Zihao’s eyes brightened, somewhat eagerly replying, "I want to start now."

Qin Sisi furrowed her brows, "Isn’t it a bit too sudden? Shouldn’t we make some preparations first?"

Zhu Zihao quickly shook his head, "I’m just a ghost right now; I don’t need any preparations. Please, Ms. Qin, help me deploy a talisman to block the sunlight. I need to leave immediately."

Qin Sisi glanced at Ye You and it seemed they shared the same thoughts.

Despite the rush, they understood Zhu Zihao’s feelings. He was only going to probe the situation and wouldn’t act rashly. Hence, they didn’t anticipate any problems.

Ye You leaned against Qin Sisi, whispering a few ’meows’. Qin Sisi, holding Ye You, walked in front of Zhu Zihao.

Ye You stretched out its paw and, using magic, condensed a faint golden light, inscribing a talisman on Zhu Zihao’s forehead to block the sunlight.

Once the talisman was painted, Zhu Zihao thanked Qin Sisi and hurriedly floated out the window, soon disappearing without a trace.

The room once again only had Qin Sisi and Ye You left. Although night was profound, they had just arisen in the afternoon and were not the least bit sleepy.

After some thought, Qin Sisi said to Ye You, "Let’s release Yuan Lishu from the Portable Space. I have a few things to talk to her about."

Ye You shook his head, "Not today, we’ll wait until tomorrow night."

"Why?" Qin Sisi was puzzled.

Ye You explained, "Her body carries too much malevolent energy, and she wields Mana. She might harm you. But, if she is bound by the Vajra Bundling Spirit Rope for twenty-four hours, her Spiritual Power will be restrained, and she won’t be able to harm anyone."

Qin Sisi finally understood, "I see. Then let’s wait until tomorrow night."

After pausing for a bit, Qin Sisi asked, "You said Vajra Bundling Spirit Rope? Is that the golden dazzling rope?"

Ye You nodded, "Yes."

Qin Sisi questioned further, "Is it a precious treasure?"

Ye You answered smiling, "Yep, it’s really precious."

Starting with the Vajra Bundling Spirit Rope, Ye You told Qin Sisi many stories about the Demon Sacred Realm; the magical treasures, the interesting customs, the strict social structures, and the many powerful magic skills.

The two of them cuddled together, their minds wandering to that mysterious and cunning Demon Sacred Realm, one with nostalgia and worry, and the other with curiosity and longing.

After a lot of conversation, sleepiness finally started to take hold.

Noticing a hint of drowsiness in Qin Sisi’s eyes, Ye You gently suggested, "That’s enough for today, we should rest."

"Hmm." Qin Sisi answered, standing up while holding Ye You, preparing to rest in the bedroom.

Suddenly, a shadow rushed in from the window, falling heavily onto the floor and moaning incessantly.

Qin Sisi was startled, and when she looked down, she found it was Zhu Zihao.

To be more precise, it was Zhu Zihao’s ghost covered in injuries. His face and hands were covered with terrifying black wounds.

His once neatly buttoned suit became tattered; one could even see black injury marks on the exposed skin inside the torn parts.

Qin Sisi was quite alarmed. Didn’t Zhu Zihao go to get information from Gu Liang? How on earth did he end up this way?

"Zhu Zihao, how are you feeling?" Qin Sisi squatted down in front of Zhu Zihao, looking concerned.

Zhu Zihao painfully gritted his teeth, "I can hold on."

"Xiao Hei...", Qin Sisi turned her head towards Ye You for help.

Ye You nodded towards Qin Sisi, signaling her not to worry. He then walked over to Zhu Zihao’s side, stretched out a paw, and using magic power, condensed a silver light, moving it systematically over Zhu Zihao’s body from head to toe.

Qin Sisi could guess that the silver glow held healing properties.

As expected, moments later, the black wounds on Zhu Zihao’s body faded significantly, and his moaning also quietened.

Ye You then fetched a red pill from the Portable Space and handed it to Qin Sisi, instructing her closely.

Qin Sisi nodded, presented the red pill to Zhu Zihao and said, "This is a Soul-Nurturing Pill. It will help you recover your Spiritual Power quickly."

"Thank you." Zhu Zihao gratefully accepted the pill and swallowed it down immediately.

Seeing that Zhu Zihao’s condition had improved significantly, Qin Sisi sat down on the sofa and solemnly said, "Now, tell me what happened." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Zhu Zihao’s face showed a hint of embarrassment. He then said, "I was careless. After leaving here, I went straight to Gu Liang’s house and didn’t expect that a House-guarding Treasure Sword which I neglected had been hung on the wall of his bedroom. I was injured by it."

After relaying that, Zhu Zihao let out a long sigh. The mission was a complete failure. Not only did he fail to bring back any information, but he was also injured, which was not a good start.

Qin Sisi slightly furrowed her eyebrows, asking, "Did Gu Liang notice anything?"

Zhu Zihao decisively replied, "No, I retreated as soon as I entered the bedroom and was attacked by the sword. Gu Liang wouldn’t notice anything. An ordinary person wouldn’t be able to sense a ghost."

Qin Sisi nodded, and after a moment’s consideration, said, "I didn’t expect Gu Liang to be so cautious. It was an omission on my part. I’m sorry for causing you trouble."

Zhu Zihao quickly waved his hand, "Ms. Qin, please don’t say that. Because of your help, I have a chance at revenge. You already warned me that this was rushed. I was just too impatient."

Qin Sisi thought for a moment and then said, "Since his house has a House-guarding Treasure Sword, it’s very likely that he’s placed something in his company that wards off evil spirits. Thus, you better not act alone anymore. After I have removed these objects that could harm you, you can carry on with your plan."

Zhu Zihao hesitated for a moment and then reluctantly declared, "I guess there is no other way. I’ll have to trouble you, Ms. Qin."

His Spiritual Power wasn’t strong, making it so he was unable to resist those liturgical instruments that ward off evil spirits. Whereas, Qin Sisi was human and wouldn’t fear such objects, so the only option was for her to neutralize them. Afterward, he could proceed as planned.

After all, he had been waiting for over a year. Waiting a few more days didn’t matter now.
