Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Trading with Opposing Forces_1

Upon hearing Lan Di’s playful remarks, Ye You didn’t get angry. He instead stared at Lan Di with a chilling gaze, and in a soft voice he uttered two words, "Is that so?"

Lan Di hooked the corner of his mouth in defiance and leaned closer to Ye You, whispering, "What if it is?"

Ye You responded coldly, "No way."

In Lan Di’s eyes flashed a glint of mischief, and he promptly asked, "Why not?"

Ye You replied without hesitation, "Because she’s my woman."

"Ha! Ha!... I knew you were no ordinary Joe." Lan Di exclaimed in excitement, sizing up Ye You with interest: he must have been a human who turned into a cat due to some peculiar reasons.

Ye You was unaffected by Lan Di’s self-satisfaction, merely questioning him in an icy tone, "And so?"

Lan Di stared at Ye You with a meaningful gaze, grinning, "Tell me, if I bring along a few more Ghost Immortals, will we have a chance to defeat you?"

Ye You scoffed, retorting, "You are more than welcome to try."

Lan Di’s smile gradually faltered. Even though Ye You was just a cat now, the overwhelming oppressive spiritual force he showed on their first meeting left a deep impression on Lan Di.

Ye You could obliterate him in an instant, and no matter how many Ghost Immortals tried to gang up on Ye You, it was doubtful they could have any impact on him.

Lan Di exhaled deeply and brushed off his ridiculous idea. Recognizing who held real power made one wise. It would be best, whether in human or cat form, not to antagonize someone with such immense power.

As experienced as Lan Di was, he quickly adjusted his emotions and boldly flopped onto the sofa, saying, "Okay, okay, enough with the chitter-chatter. Didn’t we want to look for the soul? Bring the birth data."

Ye You signaled to Qin Sisi, who immediately handed over a piece of paper with Zhuang Qin’s birth data to Lan Di.

Lan Di took a glance and pocketed it, saying, "Alright, I’ll let you know before dawn."

Without missing a beat, Ye You responded, "Good, there’s no need to see you out."

Lan Di felt like cursing in his mind. He was, after all, a Ghost Immortal, and quite a wealthy one at that. Wherever he went in the underworld, the lesser ghosts always attended to him courteously and warmly. He had never been treated with such incivility before.

However, Lan Di was indeed a candid man. Once Ye You asked him to leave, he didn’t wish to overstay, so he stood up with a huff. He was about to mock Ye You, but he heard a soft noise from the northwest corner of the room, where he had come from, so he turned around to look.

Of course, Qin Sisi also heard it, and she looked in the same direction. She saw a blurry azure figure appearing in the corner of the northwest.

Qin Sisi thought to herself: it can’t be another...

Seeing the azure figure became clearer, it turned out to be just as Qin Sisi had guessed, it was the same young woman dressed in the pale blue dress.

Upon seeing her, Lan Di’s face fell instantly, and he said impatiently, "I told you Pei Pei, can’t you stop following me around?"

At their third meeting, Qin Sisi finally learned the name of that woman, Pei Pei.

Upon hearing Lan Di’s words, Pei Pei pouted her lips, half annoyed and half flirtatious, and responded, "No, I can’t."

"Ah... I can’t stand this anymore. I’m leaving." Lan Di let out an exaggerated sigh, waved at Qin Sisi, and walked straight towards the northwest corner of the room.

Ye You suddenly said, "Next time you dare to talk nonsense, I’ll find someone else."

Lan Di paused, recalling his words about wanting to see Qin Sisi to provoke Ye You. He hurriedly put on a serious face and said, "Mr. Black Cat, even as a cat, you shouldn’t be so petty. I, I mean we ghosts, can be a little cheeky, but our souls are pure. You don’t believe me? Ask the beautiful Sisi, my hands have never touched her."

Ye You’s spiritual power was exceptionally pure and absorbed well, and moreover, he didn’t ask for any money, just asked for help to look into some souls. For Lan Di, this indeed was a profitable deal.

Deep down, he wished to continue this partnership for a long time. However, his curiosity about Ye You and his habit of flirting with beautiful women kept him testing Ye You’s reactions time and again.

Ye You slowly blinked his eyes, deep and unfathomable, revealing no real emotions. Ignoring Lan Di’s rambling comments, he lazily flopped on the sofa and closed his eyes.

Lan Di held back his anger, making faces at the eyes-closed Ye You.

However, Qin Sisi noticed that when Pei Pei heard Lan Di’s words, her eyes lit up and a sweet smile appeared on her face.

She was indeed Lan Di’s admirer!

Qin Sisi interrupted Lan Di’s rant, her crisp voice saying, "Mr. Lan Di, please leave now. Someone is waiting for you."

Thanks to Ye You’s warning, Lan Di didn’t dare to flirt with Qin Sisi. Instead, he flashed her a perfect smile, showing off his eight sparkling white teeth.

Lan Di then called out to Pei Pei in a less friendly tone, "Let’s go."

The two figures disappeared into the northwest corner of the room together.

Qin Sisi glanced at the now-empty corner with amusement. She walked over to Ye You, picked him up, and whispered, "Let’s go to the bedroom to sleep."

Ye You opened his eyes and quickly pecked Qin Sisi’s soft lips with his tiny mouth.

Qin Sisi was taken aback for a couple of seconds and then said bashfully, "Stop playing."

Ye You’s eyes were bright and shining as he looked at Qin Sisi’s blushing cheeks and softly said, "Alright, no playing. Once the curse is lifted, I’ll make up for everything I owe."

Qin Sisi’s face turned even redder and she said softly, "You’re talking nonsense again, I won’t talk to you any further."

With that, Qin Sisi put Ye You back on the sofa and walked into the bedroom herself.

Ye You watched Qin Sisi’s slender figure with a soft chuckle. He hopped off the sofa, strolled into the bedroom at a leisurely pace, and jumped onto the bed.

Despite her words, when Ye You approached, she couldn’t help but hold his fluffy body in her arms.

The two of them once again fell asleep in each other’s arms, peacefully spending the night together.

Around midnight, Qin Sisi received a text message from Lan Di: "Zhou Zichen, male, thirty-nine years old, the owner of a business in L City, very wealthy, married, and has a son."

After reading it, Qin Sisi frowned and said, "This is just basic information and doesn’t reveal what kind of person Zhou Zichen is."

Ye You nodded and said, "We need more information."

An idea suddenly popped into Qin Sisi’s head. She said, "Since he’s a big boss, I think we might find some more information on the internet. Let’s give it a try."

With that, Qin Sisi picked up her phone, typed in Zhou Zichen’s name, and indeed found some related information.
