Chapter 1288: Chapter 1288 Life Divine Water

When Qin Sisi fell asleep, Ye You gently covered her with a brand new brocade quilt, carefully tucked the corners, and silently left the room.

Master Yipiao was settled by Ye You in a nearby attic. To conveniently take care of Qin Sisi, Ye You didn’t let him reside in the more distant side palace.

"You’re here." Upon seeing Ye You’s arrival, Master Yipiao wasn’t surprised, as if he had anticipated his late-night visit.

Ye You’s eyes darkened as he whispered, "You mentioned earlier that there is another way, tell me."

Master Yipiao frowned slightly and emphasized, "I said it’s a method of nine deaths and one life."

"No matter, just tell me." Ye You’s expression didn’t change, as if he was already prepared to face all sorts of difficulties and obstacles.

Master Yipiao was uneasy; he wasn’t exaggerating when he described it as "nine deaths and one life." The truth was it was more like a journey of no return. He somewhat regretted letting Ye You know of this method’s existence.

Ye You discerned Master Yipiao’s thoughts, a hint of brutality flashed in his eyes, and he said rather grimly, "You’d better tell me, because if she dies, I won’t live alone either."

"You brat, you’re threatening me again!" Master Yipiao, in an equally displeased mood, couldn’t help but scold him.

Ye You said nothing, just stared at him with determination and tenacity, without a trace of hesitation or fear.

Master Yipiao was taken aback for a moment and sighed helplessly. Ye You had been studying at the Heavenly Magic God’s Castle since he was ten, and Master Yipiao knew how stubborn he was — what Ye You was determined to do couldn’t be changed.

"Alas, ill-fated bond." Master Yipiao sighed inwardly again, then looked at Ye You and began to describe the method of nine deaths and one life in detail.

"In the Demon Sacred Realm, at the four directions, there are The Four Forbidden Zones. Legend has it that in ancient times when the Demon Sacred Realm was created, besides the Phoenix, there were twelve Deities skilled in Magic; the Phoenix sacrificed itself to become the ancestor of the Nine Solar Royal Family, and the other eight Deities, after they felt their merit was complete, followed suit to sacrifice themselves, creating The Eight Great Families. Four Deities were appointed as Guardians and dwell in isolation in the four directions of the Demon Sacred Realm. If the Demon Sacred Realm faces catastrophic destruction, they will emerge to protect it. But when everything is normal, they will not interfere and won’t allow humans of the Demon Sacred Realm to enter their domains and disturb their solitude, be it intentional or not. Anyone who trespasses into the forbidden lands is committing sacrilege and will be killed without mercy."

Master Yipiao emphasized the last three words heavily, giving Ye You a meaningful look.

Ye You knew he was reminding him once again that this method was perilous, and it was likely that once he went, he wouldn’t return.

However, he couldn’t refrain from going; thinking about a future of loneliness, all alone, it seemed preferable than living.

Ye You took a deep breath, ignored Master Yipiao’s hint, and asked, "Once in the forbidden land, what then?"

Master Yipiao could only reply, "Ancient texts record that there’s still one drop left of the Life Divine Water used by the Phoenix in creation; it can create a body suited for living in the Demon Sacred Realm. Moreover, using the Life Divine Water might allow the creation of a new family, so that one drop was divided into four parts and kept by the four Guardians."

Finally, a heavy look flashed in Ye You’s eyes: "So, I must visit all The Four Forbidden Zones, find the Guardians, and procure the Life Divine Water from them."

Just one forbidden land was already a nine-death journey, and traversing all four made the chance of returning safely exceedingly slim.

Master Yipiao, however, shook his head and continued, "Not just you, but you both must go. You must take Qin Sisi with you because once the Life Divine Water leaves the forbidden land, it will vanish."

Ye You was taken aback for a moment and fell silent.

By the time he returned to the Phoenix Palace, the sun had already peaked in the east. Ye You opened the door to the bedroom he shared with Qin Sisi and found that she was already awake, sitting by the window, looking outside.

Ye You felt a pang in his heart and slowly walked over, hugging her from behind, kissing her by the ear, and softly asked, "What are you looking at?"

Qin Sisi didn’t turn around, her voice was light as she replied, "The sunlight... I wonder how many more times I can see it."

A dull ache spread through Ye You’s heart, making it hard to breathe. He struggled to maintain his calm and softly comforted Qin Sisi: "Don’t say such things. We still have a lot of time, still many things to do. You promised to have children with me."

Qin Sisi smiled, she turned around and realized Ye You’s eyes were slightly red. She was stunned for a moment and was speechless for a long time.

Ye You pulled her into his embrace again, holding her tightly as if letting go would mean losing her forever.

After a long while, Ye You released Qin Sisi and quietly said, "Sisi, there is a way to save you, but it’s dangerous. We might die. Are you willing to go with me?"

Qin Sisi felt a heavy jolt in her heart as she looked up into Ye You’s eyes. His gaze was more serious and earnest than ever before, yet full of hope.

She fiercely held back her tears and choked out, "I’m sorry, Ye You, I don’t want to. Please send me back to my world, let’s say goodbye here!"

She was already at death’s door; how could she drag Ye You down with her? He had heavy responsibilities, a promising future, he could marry a new Queen, have many children, live peacefully and happily year after year.

Qin Sisi didn’t know if her choice was right. She saw Ye You’s face instantly turn ashen, opening his mouth yet saying nothing, as if something was lodged in his throat.

Ye You remained silent for a long time before he finally said hoarsely, "Fine, if you really want to go back, I’ll accompany you once I arrange matters in the Demon Sacred Realm."

Qin Sisi shook her head and said, "No, I’ll go back by myself."

She could feel that with her body’s weakening, the Magic Source was also affected. If her body couldn’t hold on, the magic she practiced all these years might all reset to zero.

If that happened, she would be just like an ordinary person in her original world, aging day by day, but Ye You wouldn’t. Decades later, if she could live that long, she’d become a gray-haired, wrinkled old woman, while Ye You would still be young, handsome, and full of spirit.

She couldn’t accept such a relationship, so she decided to be ruthless.

Ye You’s expression was dark and terrifying, squeezing out words between his teeth: "Sisi, are you deliberately torturing me?"
