Chapter 123: Chapter 123 Lin Shan’s Date_1

Upon hearing Wang Haolong’s reminder, Liu Xiaotian nodded silently, then glanced at Qin Sisi, her eyes complex and hard to read. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

The two of them slowly retreated, their forms gradually morphing into tiny specks of light. These specks flickered a few times before extinguishing and disappearing completely into thin air.

Peace was restored in the room. Qin Sisi heaved a sigh of relief, glancing at the time to see it was four in the morning.

At this point, Ye You swiftly moved its paw, placing talisman papers adorned with peculiar symbols at the four corners of the room — east, south, west, and north.

Qin Sisi curiously asked, "What are you doing?"

Ye You replied, "You’ve shown them your cards. I fear that they won’t be willing to surrender their Soul Power and might try to run."

After contemplating briefly, Qin Sisi asked, "So, these talisman papers are to prevent them from escaping?"

"Smart," Ye You praised, hopping into Qin Sisi’s arms and continuing, "Since we’ve got something planned for tomorrow night, let’s rest well at home today."

Hearing Ye You’s words, Qin Sisi also began to feel tired. However, seeing the mess created by Wang Haolong and Liu Xiaotian, she said helplessly, "We can’t just leave it like this!"

Even Ye You seemed rather helpless, muttering, "Then just clean up a bit, I’ll help you."

Qin Sisi repeated in surprise, "You’ll help me?"

Ye You nodded and responded, "I can pick things up. See what you want to keep, I’ll help you gather them. If something’s broken, we should throw it away."

After some thought, Qin Sisi said, "Then help me pick up the books."

After Qin Sisi finished speaking, she watched Ye You intently, curious to see how it would pick up the objects.

"Sure thing," said Ye You, nonchalantly walking towards the closest book. Its paw gently hovered over the book, which seemed to stick to its paw as if glued. With a simple flick towards the table, the book landed firmly onto the surface.

Ye You repeated the procedure with the second book, which swiftly landed atop the first book with precision.

Qin Sisi watched in awe, forgetting about the cleaning and just focusing on Ye You.

In no time at all, Ye You had sorted all the scattered books. Turning towards Qin Sisi, it said, "All done."

Snapping back to reality, Qin Sisi quickly responded, "Yes, it’s done. I saw it all, it’s amazing magic."

Ye You chuckled lightly, replying, "It’s just a little trick, you’ll be able to do it as well in the future."

"In the future? I hope so," Qin Sisi managed a small smile, telling Ye You, "You rest a bit, I’ll take care of the rest."

"Hmm," Ye You responded before jumping onto the sofa.

Qin Sisi picked up some plastic and rubber items that wouldn’t break, placing them onto the table. Then, using a broom, she swept shards of a glass cup, a cracked fruit plate, and the remains of a few squashed fruits into the dustbin, planning to dispose of them outside when the day broke.

About an hour later, the room began to regain its cleanliness.

Qin Sisi released a weary sigh. It seemed as though she had been cleaning constantly these past few days.

As understanding flashed through Ye You’s eyes, it softly whispered, "Let’s leave it at this for now. Let’s rest."

Qin Sisi nodded, yawning behind her hand, before picking up Ye You and heading into her bedroom for some well-deserved sleep.

Upon waking up around eight in the morning, Qin Sisi prepared a simple breakfast and ate with Ye You.

Then, she remembered Shan Shan. Before she had left, she had promised Shan Shan that she would let her know when she returned.

Qin Sisi had even specially brought some small gifts for Shan Shan, planning to tell her the moment she got back, but got caught up with moving the previous day and forgot.

Thinking of this, Qin Sisi picked up her phone and dialed Shan Shan’s number, intending to invite her to lunch.

Upon receiving Qin Sisi’s call, Shan Shan was extremely happy. After a small amount of small talk, Qin Sisi invited her to lunch.

To her surprise, Shan Shan hesitantly replied, "I’m sorry, Sisi, I’ve already made plans for lunch."

Hearing that she already had plans wasn’t a big deal, and Qin Sisi was about to say, "That’s okay," when she noticed that Shan Shan sounded a little off. Her gossip instincts flared up, and she teasingly asked in a lower voice, "Shan Shan, you wouldn’t have a boyfriend, would you?"

"No, no not at all," Shan Shan quickly denied, asserting they were just friends.

Even though Shan Shan’s demeanor seemed strange, Qin Sisi didn’t think much of it. The two agreed to meet some other time before ending the call.

Having nothing much to do, Qin Sisi found a candle and began practicing her fire magic again.

She had already mastered this spell, but she still persisted in practicing, as Ye You had said that only through continuous practice could she eventually control it at will.

Qin Sisi was well aware that even though she had mastered this fire magic, her magical abilities were still weak. She had a long way to go.

After two hours, Qin Sisi paused, wiping the sweat from her forehead. Seeing that the daylight outside was pleasant and feeling the light autumn breeze, she decided to take Ye You for a walk in the neighborhood to relax and familiarize herself with the surroundings.

Unexpectedly, she bumped into a familiar face — Officer Ning Hao.

The two were surprised upon seeing one another.

"Qin Sisi, are you here looking for someone?" Ning Hao asked, a glimmer of joy flickering within his heart.

Last time, Qin Sisi had provided information regarding Xiao Dan’s disappearance, which aided the police in locating Xiao Dan’s remains. Later, she had even declined the reward offered by Xiao Dan’s parents. All those acts had left a deep impression on Ning Hao.

Qin Sisi shook her head and replied, "No, I’ve just moved into this neighborhood."

"Really? What a coincidence, I live here too," Ning Hao replied, his voice clear and resonant, much like an expansive autumn sky.

"Oh, that is quite a coincidence," Qin Sisi managed to squeeze out a smile, although deep down, she wasn’t keen on interacting with a police officer.

"Which building are you in?" Unaware of Qin Sisi’s reluctance, Ning Hao continued to ask questions like an old friend.

Upon hearing Qin Sisi mention her building and apartment number, Ning Hao’s face turned pale and he alarmedly asked, "Didn’t someone die there?"

Qin Sisi was left speechless. She hadn’t expected that Ning Hao would know about the death in that apartment.

"Were you deceived? I’ll accompany you to the agency so they can refund your money. Then, you can find a different place to live." Ning Hao, seeing Qin Sisi’s silence, assumed she was not aware of the incident and decided to stand up for her.
