Chapter 1143: Chapter 1143: Mutual Trust

After finishing their meal, Qin Sisi looked up and gently said to Ye You, "You go back to the room first, I’ll clean up here."

Ye You eagerly replied, "I’ll help you."

As he spoke, he reached out to grab the used dishes, but Qin Sisi quickly caught his hand and persuaded, "No need, it’s simple. I can do it by myself. You go back first, I have something to tell you in a while."

"What is it?" Ye You asked curiously.

Qin Sisi blinked and said playfully, "It’s a secret for now, I’ll tell you later."

It was rare for Qin Sisi to behave so playful and coy. Ye You’s curiosity was successfully piqued. He pinched Qin Sisi’s nose lightly and said in a low voice, "Alright, I’ll go back and wait for you. Don’t let me down later."

"Go already!" Qin Sisi playfully scolded, pushing Ye You out of the small kitchen and closing the door behind him in one swift motion.

Ye You chuckled helplessly and stood outside for a moment. Unable to guess what Qin Sisi wanted to tell him, he decided to return to the room and wait patiently.

From the crack in the kitchen door, Qin Sisi watched as Ye You returned to his room. She stood in the small kitchen alone, lost in thought for a moment, and then quickly washed the used dishes, arranging them neatly before pulling open the kitchen door.

However, she didn’t immediately go back to find Ye You; instead, she knocked on Yun Wang and Yun Cheng’s door.

"Sister Sisi." It was Yun Cheng who opened the door, and he warmly welcomed Qin Sisi inside.

Qin Sisi nodded to him and then looked toward Yun Wang, straightforwardly asking, "Yun Wang, how long did His Royal Highness stand outside last night?"

Yun Wang’s expression changed. His mouth opened, but no words came out.

Qin Sisi softly said, "Yun Wang, you should know, I’m asking because I care about him."

Yun Wang nodded and sighed as he replied, "I know. After you left yesterday evening, His Royal Highness stood under that vine tree all night without moving. I tried to persuade him, but he drove me away."

Having confirmed her suspicion, Qin Sisi couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache and sadness. Pressing her lips together, she said, "Alright, I understand. Thank you."

She was about to turn and leave when Yun Wang suddenly spoke, "Ms. Qin, there’s something I’m not sure if I should say."

Looking into his eyes, Qin Sisi said seriously, "If there’s something to say, just say it."

After a moment of hesitation, Yun Wang said, "You are engaged to His Royal Highness and will become the princess and future empress. For His Royal Highness’s dignity and your reputation, I think you should keep some distance from other men."

Even if Ye You didn’t say a word, how could Yun Wang, who had always been by his side, not know what was bothering him? Jiu Ge was known for his carefree ways and indulgent lifestyle. How could Ye You not be worried?

Not to mention Ye You, even Yun Wang himself felt uneasy in his heart.

After thinking for a moment, Qin Sisi asked, "Yun Wang, do you think His Royal Highness wanted me to meet Jiu Ge?"

"Of course not," Yun Wang answered quickly.

Qin Sisi nodded and continued to ask, "Then why do you think he allowed me to go?"

That stumped Yun Wang. Indeed, if Ye You didn’t want her to go, why would he agree? That wasn’t like him at all.

Seeing Yun Wang’s slightly awkward expression, Qin Sisi answered her own question, "Because he trusts me."

Surprised, Yun Wang looked at Qin Sisi, and a faint understanding began to form in his heart.

Qin Sisi continued, "Let me ask you—if I knew he didn’t want me to go, why would I still go?"

This question left Yun Wang even more at a loss. A woman’s heart is a mystery; how could he possibly guess Qin Sisi’s thoughts?

Qin Sisi continued her introspection aloud, "Because I trust him, and I also trust Jiu Ge."

She trusted that Ye You wouldn’t grow distant from her because of this situation, and she trusted that Jiu Ge wouldn’t disrespect her.

Yun Wang took a deep breath, placed a hand over his chest, and respectfully bowed to Qin Sisi. "I understand now. Thank you for your guidance, Princess."

Qin Sisi nodded and turned to leave Yun Wang and Yun Cheng’s room.

Quietly standing by, Yun Cheng couldn’t help but feel a tinge of envy. He thought to himself that in the future, he and Xiao Meng should also strive to trust one another like Ye You and Qin Sisi.

When Qin Sisi pushed her room’s door open, she saw Ye You gazing out the window. She knew he must have seen her go to Yun Wang’s room, but it didn’t matter—she hadn’t intended to hide anything from him.

Ye You turned around, a faint smile on his lips, and opened his arms to her.

Qin Sisi bit her lip shyly and slowly walked toward him, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head against his chest.

Ye You held Qin Sisi tightly in his arms, letting out a contented sigh. He didn’t ask her why she went to Yun Wang’s room because he could guess some of the reasons. If he wanted to confirm, he could ask Yun Wang, who would surely tell him everything. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

The two embraced for a while. Ye You then lowered his head and placed a gentle kiss on Qin Sisi’s forehead. In a tender voice, he asked, "What did you want to tell me?"

With her face buried in Ye You’s chest, Qin Sisi softly murmured, "I’m sleepy. I want to sleep."

Ye You froze for a moment, both amused and exasperated. He tilted up Qin Sisi’s chin with one hand, gazed into her eyes, and asked, "That’s what you wanted to tell me?"

Qin Sisi’s cheeks flushed even more, and her voice grew smaller than a whisper, "Sleep with me."

Ye You chuckled softly. This wasn’t exactly a big request—they had often slept together before. However, Qin Sisi’s shy demeanor stirred something in him that was hard to control.

Holding Qin Sisi a little tighter, Ye You slowly lowered his head, his lips almost brushing hers. With a teasing and provocative tone, he said, "Aren’t you afraid I’ll devour you?"

Burying her head in Ye You’s chest, Qin Sisi whispered, "If you want to... then do it..."

Such a faint sentence made Ye You’s heart skip a beat, and his body involuntarily reacted. In a slightly hoarse voice, he asked, "Are you serious?"

"You know," Qin Sisi replied quietly, avoiding Ye You’s gaze and nuzzling into his chest.

Ye You felt his heart surge with waves of emotion. His breathing grew heavier as he asked softly, "But weren’t you unwilling before?"

Qin Sisi whispered back, "I was never unwilling. I was just... a little scared."

"Scared of what?" Ye You’s warm breath brushed against her ear, making her heart flutter uncontrollably.

Truthfully, Qin Sisi didn’t quite know what she feared. It wasn’t just physical discomfort but, more so, the uncertainty of human nature, the cruelty of fate, and the unknown future.

Ye You didn’t press for an answer. The reason didn’t matter anymore; what mattered was the outcome.

At this moment, the anxiety and sadness he had felt when Qin Sisi went to meet Jiu Ge had completely melted away. Like Cloud Fog Vanish clearing a cloudy sky, his heart now held a bright and serene moon, making every emotion clean and clear.

He understood perfectly—Qin Sisi was using her actions to show him that her heart belonged to him entirely, that she was willing to entrust everything to him.

After all they had been through—the dangers, the struggles—these small tests and temptations were nothing but trivial hurdles. Instead of being obstacles, they only made their trust and bond stronger.
