Chapter 1071: Chapter 1071: Blood Covenant Sensing

Qin Sisi couldn’t figure out the answer. She let out a silent sigh and closed her eyes.

After dancing so many times on the edge of death today, she was utterly drained, both physically and emotionally. She definitely needed a good rest. The troubling matters could wait until she met Ye You again.

In the dead of night, when everything was silent, the sleeping Qin Sisi abruptly woke up. She sat upright quickly, her hammock rocking wildly along with her movements, waking up Grandma Mad as well.

Grandma Mad thought there might be some danger nearby. She hurriedly looked around, yet she found nothing unusual. Turning to Qin Sisi, she asked curiously, "Ms. Qin, what’s wrong?"

"I heard Ye You’s voice. He’s calling me." Qin Sisi’s expression carried a hint of excitement.

"The prince has come looking for you?" Grandma Mad’s face lit up with joy. She tilted her head, listening carefully, but after a moment, her face fell in disappointment. "I don’t hear anything. Are you sure you didn’t mishear?"

Qin Sisi shook her head firmly and replied in a resolute tone, "No, I didn’t mishear. I truly heard it, not with my ears, but with my heart."

She closed her eyes once more, pressing her palm against her chest, earnestly trying to perceive the call coming from afar.

"Sisi, where are you? Come back, come back to me." Ye You’s deep voice reverberated constantly in her heart. Qin Sisi could even faintly sense the direction the voice was coming from.

Could this be the power of the Blood Covenant?

Qin Sisi bit her lip and turned to Grandma Mad, saying, "Grandma, follow me."

Without another word, she summoned the Wings of Rainbow and soared into the night sky, flying toward the direction where the voice in her heart was leading her.

However, whenever she opened her eyes and controlled the Wings of Rainbow in flight, or when her emotions became too agitated, the internal voice would disappear. She had no choice but to fly for a while, then stop to feel it again, doing her best to calm down and ensure she was heading in the right direction.

The night was misty, and even with twinkling starlight, visibility was still very poor. Qin Sisi dared not fly too fast. Moving in stops and starts with Grandma Mad, time passed bit by bit, but they neither encountered Ye You nor anyone else.

Grandma Mad was somewhat skeptical about Qin Sisi’s claimed telepathic connection, but Qin Sisi remained convinced. The increasingly intense feeling in her heart proved that she was getting closer and closer to Ye You.

As the sky brightened faintly, the sun peeked over the eastern horizon, and a few diligent birds began cheerfully singing on the treetops. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Finally, a group of figures appeared in Qin Sisi’s line of sight. The moment she saw the group, Qin Sisi immediately stopped. She couldn’t make out their faces and didn’t know if Ye You was among them. After what Aunt Mei had done, she had become much more cautious.

At this moment, the group on the other side also spotted Qin Sisi and Grandma Mad.

Ye You’s extraordinary and sharp eyesight allowed him to recognize Qin Sisi from a great distance. His body froze for a moment before he flapped the magic wings on his back and flew toward her at top speed.

When Qin Sisi also recognized Ye You, the giant weight in her heart finally dropped. She knew she was truly safe this time. Just as she was about to fly forward to meet him, Ye You had already rushed over and tightly embraced her.

Although Qin Sisi’s magic power had recovered, the injuries she’d sustained during her battle with the Devouring Sky Golden Python hadn’t yet healed—there were both internal and external wounds. The pressure from Ye You’s strong embrace caused him to accidentally press against one of her wounds, making her let out an involuntary groan.

Startled, Ye You immediately loosened his grip. Holding her shoulders, he urgently asked, "Are you hurt? Where are you injured? Is it serious?"

Qin Sisi glanced behind Ye You. The group of people who had come with him had also gathered around. Xiao Meng and Wen Xuan both wore expressions of concern, Yun Wang looked relieved after his earlier tension, while the others merely cast her a few significant glances.

In the corner of the group, Qin Sisi spotted the culprit who had caused her suffering—Aunt Mei.

Her gaze turned cold as she stared at Aunt Mei for a moment. Aunt Mei’s face alternated between red and pale as she shrank back, hiding behind the others.

Noticing that Qin Sisi hadn’t responded, Ye You followed her gaze. A suspicion flickered in his heart, and his expression became even darker.

Qin Sisi withdrew her gaze and spoke gently to Ye You, "I’m fine. Let’s talk about it after we return."

"Alright." Ye You nodded, instructing Qin Sisi to retract her Wings of Rainbow. He carefully held her and headed back toward the Taiyi Mountain Base.

As they departed, Qin Sisi glanced back and gave Grandma Mad a look. Grandma Mad understood and merged with the group that had come with Ye You.

Meanwhile, Aunt Mei was anxiously calculating. Qin Sisi hadn’t died—she actually returned alive and well. What should she do now? Ye You was clearly infatuated with her at the moment. If he learned everything she had done, even if he didn’t kill her, he would surely punish her harshly.

It might be better to lay low for a while. After Ye You’s anger subsided or once his passion for Qin Sisi cooled, she could return. Perhaps the consequences would be lighter by then.

Having resolved her plan, Aunt Mei gradually slowed her flying pace, distancing herself from the group. She intended to take advantage of their lack of attention to slip away discreetly.

As they neared the Taiyi Mountain Base, the group, eager to return home, quickened their pace. No one seemed to notice Aunt Mei intentionally lagging behind. As she slowed further and prepared to change direction, flying toward an alternate destination, a bony hand clamped tightly onto her arm.

"Xiao Mei, where do you think you’re going?" A coarse voice rasped sinisterly beside her.

Aunt Mei was startled out of her wits. Xiao Mei? Everyone by Ye You’s side now respectfully called her "Aunt Mei." No one dared call her by her given name. This name was so old, it felt distant—so distant she’d almost forgotten it herself.

Turning her head, Aunt Mei came face-to-face with an incredibly aged figure, a face full of wrinkles, weathered and haggard. Her first impression was that this person seemed unfamiliar, but someone who could call her by that name must surely be someone from the past.

She scrutinized the person carefully again and finally detected some familiar features in the face’s shape and gaze.

"You... you’re Grandma Feng?" Aunt Mei exclaimed, voicing her guess in shock.

When Aunt Mei followed Patroness Gewan into the Royal Palace, Grandma Mad had still been there, and the two worked together for a few years. After Ye You’s birth, Grandma Mad had even helped care for him. She left the Royal Palace after Ye You’s first birthday, so Aunt Mei’s memories of her were relatively clear.

Grandma Mad let out a cold, mocking laugh and said with sarcasm, "Good, your memory’s still sharp. Since you can recognize me, come back with me and confess to the prince and the princess."

"Princess? What princess? She’s not the princess!" Aunt Mei, realizing Grandma Mad was allied with Qin Sisi, was both furious and terrified. Her tone grew frantic and irate.

"The prince says she is, so she is," Grandma Mad spat each word firmly, dismissing Aunt Mei’s cries and pleas for mercy. She tightened her grip on Aunt Mei’s arm and dragged her back toward the Taiyi Mountain Base.
