Chapter 843: Chapter 518: Sage Is Also a Super Rookie (Part 2)

"This kind of thinking is unacceptable, Smoker. If you can’t even recognize your own heart, you will become lost. Once you’re lost, you’ll become weak. It’s been a while since we’ve last met, and you haven’t made any progress. I heard last time, Renedia gave you a beating because you ruined her chance to save my face."

Sage smirked, "But I’m in a good mood today, so I won’t punish you. Do whatever you want, or stay here and watch as I achieve my greatest feat yet!"

"I’ll keep an eye on you, but not now. There’s something important I haven’t done yet. If you’re here to recruit subordinates, then you’re not in cahoots with that Festa guy."

Smoker’s lower half turned into a cloud of smoke and drifted away.

"Festa..."

Sage let out a cold snort, "You really need a beating. What kind of people want to collaborate with me?"

"Sage."

Just as he spoke, Lily’s voice came from behind. Three people approached with packed dishes.

Lily first glanced at the pair of feet on the ground that were kicking around, then looked around the still lingering smoke and frowned, "Smoke... this island shouldn’t have smoke. Is it Smoker?"

Marika sorted out the food and laid it beside Sage. Without needing Sage to lift a finger, she eagerly started feeding him.

"Sage, Sage, it’s lively over there. Many people are going up to hunt treasures. It’s a pity our ship isn’t around; otherwise, I’d love to sail up there and have some fun," Renedia said excitedly.

"Let them show off. That island is just right for use. Anyone who can get up through the ascending sea currents is pretty lucky. I like lucky people. Speaking of luck... today my luck is super good!"

Sage grinned widely, "Today, even if it means leaving Buggy to drown in the sea, I’m going to catch some fish!"

Whoosh!

Just as he finished speaking, bubbles suddenly emerged from the surface of the sea below. The bubbles grew larger and formed a shadow beneath the sea’s surface. With this shadow, the sea rose, and a smooth, shimmering creature emerged.

It had scales, no peculiar limbs, was somewhat large, and had Buggy’s lower half caught in its mouth. But Sage would never mistake it...

"Help!!"

Buggy spat out a mouthful of seawater and cried out with tears and snot streaming down his face.

"A fish!!"

Sage’s eyes widened and his grin stretched wider than anyone’s, "A fish! A big fish! I finally caught a fish! Lily! Marika! Renedia! Look, I finally caught a fish!"

Crash!!

No sooner had he spoken than the island atop the ascending sea current, along with the current itself, shattered. A ship thrown into the air crashed through the current, smashing the island from below, shattering the bubble that enveloped it, and causing the entire island to rapidly sink.

The falling island quickly collided in the Central Sea Region, splitting the island apart and generating a massive impact, shaking the entire island inexplicably.

Amidst this tremor, within Sage’s wide eyes and frozen smile, the multicolored giant fish that hadn’t even fully emerged from the water, still half submerged, suddenly opened its mouth and released Buggy before retreating into the sea, disappearing without a trace.

"No!!!"

Sage’s eyes nearly popped out, his nostrils flared widely, and one hand instinctively reached out, trying to stop it but too late. As the fish slipped back into the water, the shadow vanished from the surface, its whereabouts unknown.

"Oh wow..."

Renedia was filled with anticipation and disbelief—this was a fish after all...

Sage actually managed to catch one.

Buggy’s presence could truly neutralize Sage’s luck. Incredible.

She knew how Buggy became famous, and in her eyes, this guy was pure luck. It’s not just becoming one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea; his luck is so good that it just so happens to lie within Sage’s chain of operations, which is why, even though he’s clearly in the New World with such a large force, he never becomes Sage’s target.

A guy like this can still influence Sage...

Though he didn’t succeed, it’s already impressive enough!

Sage picked up the fishing rod, took a deep breath, "No worries, if there’s a first, there will be a second. Since there are fish here now, I can catch another... Damn it! I’m calm, but I’m also angry! Who the hell did this?!!"

He threw the fishing rod aside, not caring about Buggy who had just risen into the air, and turned to look.

From his angle, he could see that the island’s center had already been shattered and covered with rocks, and within, a rather impressive presence emerged.

"Sage..."

Lily became serious, gripping the hilt of her sword facing that direction.

Not just her, but Marika and Renedia also wore serious expressions.

They could sense it.

The guy who just appeared is quite strong...

"The fleet has arrived."

Lily glanced at the island’s center before focusing her gaze to the side, where a group of silhouettes was slowly approaching the island.

"Time to act!"

Sage’s eyes turned a shade of crimson, "I’m going to beat that guy to death!!"

He had a carefree nature but wasn’t someone who would disregard everything for pleasure. Fishing was merely a leisurely activity, but it could never disrupt his plans.

Since the fleet had arrived, the plan needed to be executed. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

In this regard, Sage was clear-headed.

But it also meant his fishing plan was ruined!

He could have caught it!
