Chapter 923: Chapter 697 I Will Tell You
The orb above suddenly emitted an extremely thin, yet blindingly bright beam of light! The light swept vertically across the orb and the young man behind it. The orb that was originally hurtling towards Long Yi was silently severed into two halves! The immense energy dissipated into the air, and the young man behind the orb was sliced through the middle by the beam!
"You—" Landers was about to say something, but Long Yi raised his hand to stop him.
"If I were you, I’d quickly use magic to stabilize his body because in a few seconds, he’s going to be split into two halves through the middle," Long Yi said, pointing at the young man.
Landers hurried over only to discover that even though the young man was swept by the beam from the front, a wound also appeared on the back of his body, and his clothes were split down the middle!
Such immense power from that extremely thin beam of light!
The young man’s body became rigid, his complexion gradually turning dark. He could no longer move an inch. Landers quickly used magic to stabilize his body, while mana surged throughout his body, converging into an exceptionally powerful healing spell. Under the influence of that spell, the young man’s complexion finally gained a hint of color.
"Feeling good?"
Long Yi asked with a smile.
Just then, the young man was only beginning to regain consciousness. A moment ago, his vision had blurred and then turned pitch black. And then, there was now.
"Your teacher is really something, protecting you with an Ethereal Light Shield and saving your life at the critical moment. Tsk, tsk, fortunate for me, my own teacher isn’t bad either, haha!" Long Yi thought of Yavenny; not only did she often provide benefits, but she also came through with all sorts of timely help when needed.
Just as the young man was about to speak, he felt an indescribable discomfort throughout his body, a burning pain from head to toe.
"You should step back and rest; you’ve already lost," Landers said.
Although the young man was still unconvinced, he was startled to notice something off about himself. His previously intact clothes were now slashed open front and back, and he had a tuft of hair missing down the middle of his head.
Could it be that he had just been sliced by that very fine beam of light?
"Who is your teacher?" Landers had just heard Long Yi mention his own teacher. To have instructed Long Yi to this extent, his teacher must be extremely powerful.
"None of your damn business!" Long Yi scoffed with a laugh. As if I would tell you if you ask. How would that look?
"Who knows, I might know your teacher. It would be a shame if I accidentally injured you, wouldn’t want to cause any bad blood!" Landers said.
"No worries, the bad blood is already there. And my teacher definitely doesn’t know you, so just come on over to meet your demise," Long Yi said to Landers, waving him off. He then sent another extremely fine beam of light sweeping across.
Clang!
Like metal colliding, Landers was surrounded by a mysterious shield that reflected the beam away.
"Oh? I’ve encountered a clever one!" Long Yi laughed, realizing that if the beam could be reflected, it was pointless to continue using it. Clapping his hands, the orb disappeared. Then, with a flick of his wrist, a crystal greatsword appeared in his hand.
"I don’t think I’ve told you, but actually, I’m a swordsman," Long Yi said, a smile on his face. With a swing of his sword, a Destruction Ripple swept out. Landers’ shield in front of him transformed again, shimmering metallically. The Destruction Ripple collided with the shield with a screeching noise before tearing the shield apart and exhausting itself.
"Oh? Not bad!" Long Yi exclaimed, as he slashed out waves of Destruction Ripples one after another. Landers’ gaze turned stern, not daring to underestimate his opponent. He was unclear about what exactly the Destruction Ripples were; he felt that they seemed to contain both Fighting Aura and Mana. Therefore, he used his most reliable shield to defend. This shield had an excellent resistance to both physical and magic damage, yet he hadn’t anticipated a single ripple would be able to shred one of his shields!
"Bastard!"
Knowing that he couldn’t continue defending like this, Landers knew he had to counterattack! Mai Zhuo was a Mage who summoned Giant Beasts, and Landers was too! The difference was that Landers didn’t summon the Giant Beasts themselves, but instead used the Giant Beast’s magic to attack! Especially after entering the middle Plane, he encountered many Giant Beasts and learned many spells from them; he thought himself invincible in the Lower Plane.
"Giant Beast’s Roar!"
The magic condensed at Landers’ lips. Taking a deep breath, he unleashed a ferocious roar. The sound was instantly amplified, turning into a massive wave of air. Long Yi was actually blown away head-on!
After tumbling through the sky, Long Yi quickly adjusted his position. But Landers did not intend to let go of this opportunity!
"Aren’t you the one with limitless strength as long as your feet are on the ground? Then now, I’ll make sure you can never touch the ground again!"
Landers bellowed, creating a levitation field that enveloped Long Yi. All at once, Long Yi’s descent was halted, and he could only hover mid-air.
"Alright, now you have a chance to tell me who your teacher is, and maybe that will save your life," Landers said.
"Is that so? Then who will save you?" Long Yi retorted as if he were not the one being held in mid-air.
"You’re courting death!" Landers cursed.
"You’re the idiot who’s asking for death!" Long Yi’s Fighting Aura surged powerfully as he actually charged directly at Landers, "You don’t know, I’m the best at aerial combat!"
Wrapped in Fighting Aura, Long Yi, like a massive meteor, smashed toward Landers, who hurriedly dodged. What he had applied to Long Yi was merely a buoyancy field, not an imprisonment. Although it could keep Long Yi from falling, it couldn’t prevent him from moving erratically in the air. In his view, someone with an affinity for the ground like Long Yi should have never fought in the sky before, and his first time soaring should have been extremely tense. Yet Long Yi wasn’t nervous at all but instead charged over himself!
"Courting death! Ravens Assault!"
An Array opened, and thousands of huge black ravens surged out, their eyes blood-red as they charged at Long Yi.
"This level counts as ravens?" Long Yi laughed. Around his body, more than a dozen light orbs suddenly appeared, and beams that were fine but extremely powerful swept through the air, causing the sky-full of ravens to scream pitifully as they plummeted to the ground!
At this, the young man watching the battle from the side immediately stood up. Long Yi had just learned his Magic, yet he was already able to use it so smoothly, and it even seemed very proficient!
Landers hadn’t expected Long Yi to block his Ravens Assault with such a tactic. These ravens actually had no attack power of their own, but there were many of them, and they could self-destruct, which would bestow a curse on everyone within the blast radius after the explosion. These curses included aging, weakness, Mana disruption, and inability to concentrate, among others.
But such a move had been completely blocked by a Magic invented by Long Yi himself!
"Giant Beast Devour!"
Immediately, Landers cast a new Magic, and a vague giant maw formed in the sky, biting directly at Long Yi. Meanwhile, Long Yi clasped his hands tightly around his Crystal Greatsword, his Fighting Aura pouring wildly into it, with a beam of light tens of meters long erupting from the sword!
"Dragon Wing Slash!"
Boom!
The vast sword beam swept across the giant maw in the sky, forcefully splitting it in two!
"Giant Beast Vajra Fist!"
Boom, two enormous fists came slamming from both sides in the air!
"Playing fists with me?" Long Yi looked up and grinned, "Are you underestimating me?"
Boom, the two huge fists collided with each other. In the middle, Long Yi stood, his body covered in Crystal Armor.
When the fists withdrew, the Crystal Armor crumbled into powder and fell from the sky, while Long Yi was still suspended in mid-air, now displaying a series of fine wounds on his body.
"Cough, cough, cough, how embarrassing, I thought I could take the hit." Long Yi coughed a few times, blood also streaming from his mouth.
"You have one last chance, tell me who your teacher is, and I’ll spare your life!" At this point, Landers was somewhat apprehensive as well. In fact, the Magic he had just used were his trump cards, but Long Yi had endured them all. Seeing Long Yi so young and yet so powerful, he was very concerned that Long Yi might be the disciple of one of the few old mages he knew. Those old mages were extremely terrifying, and even now, Landers didn’t dare to provoke them rashly—it was said they had received the inheritance of the Giants. In this multiverse, anything related to Giants generally meant only one thing—strength!
Landers was no exception; he too had received the inheritance of the Giants, which was why he had achieved what he had today. He suspected Long Yi also had the Giant’s inheritance, otherwise, it would be impossible for someone of his young age to be so powerful. And such a young person could not casually possess the Giant’s inheritance unless it was given to him by some old fellow!
"Wait a minute, you don’t really think you’ve won, do you? Don’t get me wrong, actually, I could have dodged that fist just now. I just wanted to test its power," Long Yi truthfully said, but his current disheveled appearance lacked persuasive power.
"Tell me, who is your teacher!" Landers roared.
"Forget it, it seems you don’t have any interesting Magic left, I think it’s time to end this!" Long Yi shook his head.
Seeing Long Yi’s nonchalant attitude, Landers suddenly felt an anger born from being despised rising in his heart.
"War Stomp!"
Boom! A tremendously large Giant Beast’s hind leg stomped down from the sky. Within the range of the hind leg, the gravity changed bizarrely, and Long Yi fell directly to the ground, watching helplessly as the leg descended.
"Before you die! Tell me his name!"
Landers shouted loudly.
"Die before? Okay, if I’m about to die, I’ll tell you."
With that, Long Yi stood up from the ground and quickly moved out of the range of the hind leg. Then, the leg heavily descended to the ground, the massive shockwave immediately destroying the surrounding buildings—and this was still under the condition that Dean Saint Andrews had already reinforced architectural protection.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, I don’t know what Dean Saint Andrews is thinking, but if this were my academy being torn down by such a lunatic, I certainly wouldn’t be able to swallow my pride over it. It’s a complete disregard for the dean. Too arrogant, too disdainful."
Long Yi, before anyone knew it, was standing beside the Emperor, speaking to Dean Saint Andrews.
