Chapter 905: Chapter 680: Rongka’s Indulgence
"I really haven’t said anything. Events that happened thousands of years ago, even the ones I did myself, I can no longer remember, let alone matters of the gods. How could I explain them clearly?" Tyl said.
"If that’s really the case, then this is getting interesting. Giants created humans, but were driven away by the Dragon Clan. Then gods created humans once more, yet those humans vanished in a planetary explosion... I don’t believe it’s a coincidence," Tilian said, frowning.
"I don’t believe it either, so, in fact, I’m also searching for more information. You know, exploring the past events of the gods and Giants is truly fascinating, even more so than revenge," Tyl said with a smile.
"Yes, that’s also why I’ve been staying here lately, and it seems you’ve gone much further than I have," Tilian replied with a laugh.
"Since it’s been quite peaceful lately, and ever since I came to Hell, I suddenly realized there’s no need to worry about dying out of the blue, so I had to find something to keep myself busy with after all. Hence, researching this seems just the thing as it looks capable of consuming a considerable amount of time while being very elusive with its answers," Tyl spoke, continuing to tidy up the bookshelf.
"I wonder what His Majesty Rongka would think of this, considering that although he isn’t exactly contemporary with the Giants, his profound longevity must have accumulated plenty of historical knowledge. I think, I should consult him," Tilian said.
"Then I’ll wait here for your good news," Tyl remarked.
"Wait for me? Ha, His Majesty Rongka has disappeared somewhere, and I have no idea when he’ll be back, nor do I know when he left," Tilian said with a laugh.
At that moment, a deep and raspy voice came through.
"I haven’t gone anywhere; I’ve always been here."
As he spoke, a robed elder slowly descended from the sky, and it was none other than the Eternal Emperor Rongka himself.
"Your Majesty!"
Tilian and Tyl bowed simultaneously in greeting.
"I heard everything you just said, and actually, I’m quite curious about this matter too," Rongka said and tossed the book he was holding to Tilian beside him.
Tilian caught the book and noticed a line of small characters on the cover: ’Path to Becoming a God.’
"What is this?" Tilian asked, puzzled.
"This is a book written by a zealous devotee of the Giants. It details the assistance the Giants have offered to various races since descending from the Heavenly Kingdom, pioneering new Planes, all the way to the creation of life. Every story here has been meticulously verified, yet the only part missing is about humans. Because the Giants opened up a new Plane below the bottom layer exclusively for humans, a realm where only humans exist. At the same time, guarded by the most formidable force of the Giants, no other living creature could easily approach it. Although later, due to some flaws, some powerful entities found ways to the Human Realm, they were suppressed by the rules, severely limiting their strength. For such a heavily protected race, the entire multiverse is quite curious. The Giants gave humans no power but afforded them the greatest freedom. Now, it seems, humans may truly be a grand masterpiece. At least this has been exemplified in you," Rongka said.
Hearing Rongka mention himself, Tilian smiled awkwardly. It had been a long time since those events; reflecting upon them now, they seemed quite intriguing. He had transformed from a disgraced Crown Prince into a scientist at the side of Emperor Yake Black of the Black Dragon Empire and had gradually grasped almost all the power of the Empire. It could be said that although Long Yi annihilated the Black Dragon Empire, it was he who truly brought it to its knees.
And for this very reason, he was valued by Rongka.
"Material is finite, but thought is infinite," a Giant once said. Whenever I remember this saying, I am struck by how profound the Giants’ understanding of things is. When I had just been born in Hell and was still a small lord, I instinctively sought the same things as the rest of the lords of Hell—war, devouring, territory. Yet, it was this saying that led to my epiphany. I broke free from that tedious cycle, I began to pursue endless knowledge. As it turned out, my decision was the right one. Knowledge made me more powerful but also made me realize my own insignificance compared to the greatness of the Giants. This is also why I find Long Yi so interesting," Rongka said, his speech filled with wistfulness and nostalgia, as if remembering a distant past.
"So, regarding the descent of the Heavenly Kingdom, do you have any insight, Your Majesty?" Tilian inquired.
"The descent of the Heavenly Kingdom was a turning point for the Giants becoming Giants. Even now, the kingdom that descended is still on the Giants’ Star. Located within a peculiar Plane above the higher layers, the Heavenly Kingdom that descends each year opens for a brief period, so brief that it only allows about a dozen people to enter. Those who leave there gain knowledge from the descended Heavenly Kingdom," Rongka explained.
"The descended Heavenly Kingdom! What is it like?" Tilian’s thirst for knowledge was never quenched!
"That’s just it, anyone who enters the descended Heavenly Kingdom can only give a rough description, and everyone’s vision differs completely. Some have seen caves overflowing with books, others have seen trees brimming with fruit, and there are those who have seen Belle laden with inscriptions. However, they all agree on one point: to enter the descended Heavenly Kingdom, one needs a considerable amount of strength. The deeper and more unreachable areas contain increasingly advanced and astonishing knowledge!" Rongka proclaimed.
