Chapter 848: Chapter 650 Negotiation_2

Thinking of this, Fang Zuo even began to feel impatient.

The Nightmare Knight escorted Fang Zuo into a large elevator, which started to ascend slowly toward the ground. When the elevator doors opened, the first thing Fang Zuo encountered was the intense glare of light that forced him to squint. Then, the sounds that filled his ears were exclamations of surprise and voices calling out ’First Prince.’

That voice was so familiar!

"Teacher, is that you?" Fang Zuo’s eyes watered from the sting of the sunlight, but in the eyes of Fang En, who was the chief negotiator, these were clearly the tears of a child who had suffered immensely!

Fang En, also of royal descent but from a collateral line and thus ineligible for official positions, had taken on the responsibility of teaching the princes due to his extensive knowledge. Likewise, his eloquence had earned him the role of chief negotiator this time.

Fang Zuo’s eyes gradually adapted, and he finally saw the familiar faces before him.

Although he had seen them only a month ago, Fang Zuo felt as if it had been a year, and he found the faces before him extremely dear!

"Alright, gentlemen and officials, since you’ve seen the person, let’s resume negotiations," a voice declared.

Ruosha clapped her hands, and the Nightmare Knight seated Fang Zuo behind her.

"Alright, state your demands," she said.

The moment he heard the word "negotiation," Fang En immediately reigned in all emotion and slipped back into his role. Fang Zuo couldn’t help but nod inwardly—yes, his teacher was always meticulous, no matter the situation!

"Here is a list, you can have a look," Ruosha offered.

She passed over a sheet of paper covered with densely packed writing.

Fang En took it and gave it a careful glance.

Money?

The sum was large, but it still seemed within a reasonable range.

Food?

An odd request, even specifying the varieties of different foods. Strange as it was, it wasn’t an issue for the Azure Sky Empire.

What’s this? Weapons?

A joke? Arming the enemy with weapons? This was sheer nonsense!

And then there was more... three mineral-rich planets!

Bang!

Fang En smacked the paper down on the table.

"Miss Ruosha, are you serious? I see no intention to negotiate on this list!" Fang En exclaimed.

Ruosha shook her head and replied, "Of course, I’m serious. And sir, it seems you’ve misunderstood something—I’m not negotiating. This is extortion. The price I’ve set is what I think a living Crown Prince of the Azure Sky Empire is worth. If you disagree, feel free to make a counteroffer."

Fang En chuckled coldly, "Miss Ruosha, the value of our Azure Sky prince is indeed immeasurable, and there’s no need to provoke me with that tone. It’s just that your asking price is rather unrealistic!"

Ruosha giggled, "Okay, then what can you offer me?"

Without delay, Fang En conferred with a few colleagues: "I can fulfill your demands for money and food right now. But weapons and planets, that’s absolutely impossible!"

Ruosha pouted and glanced back at Fang Zuo, "Poor Fang Zuo. I was hoping to trade you for something valuable, but it seems you’re not so valuable after all. Since you’re not worth much, there’s no point in keeping you. Alright, Nightmare Knight, chop up Fang Zuo and package him for these negotiators to take back."

"As you command."

The Nightmare Knight, who had been standing by Fang Zuo’s side, rose immediately, one hand transforming into a sharp blade, then slashing down!

With a whoosh, Fang Zuo’s arm was severed effortlessly!

The event unfolded so rapidly that neither Fang Zuo nor Fang En could react until Fang Zuo’s agonized screams jolted Fang En awake.

"Wait!" Fang En bellowed, nearly losing his voice in the effort.

"Stop!"

The Nightmare Knight’s second blade halted just centimeters from Fang Zuo’s other arm, threatening to slice into it.

"Let me think!" In his extensive negotiation experience, Fang En had never encountered a situation like this, clearly Ruosha had set simple terms from the start—I have the prince, you give me what I want, or I kill him.

This wasn’t negotiation at all, Ruosha had no intention of negotiating. This was blatant extortion!

"Money, food, and weapons I can agree to, but planets..."

The Emperor of the Azure Sky Empire valued territory and resources immensely; he might not agree to this.

"Give us a few days’ time," Fang En pleaded, sweating profusely.

"Sure, take a few days. As long as you feel he can survive, come back anytime," Ruosha cheerfully declared.

Fang En was practically going mad; one arm was severed, blood was flowing nonstop, and although he tried his best to clamp down on his wound, without medical treatment, not only the arm but also his life would soon be in jeopardy!

"Do you need to contact your Emperor?" Ruosha inquired.

"It’s too far from here; our magic can’t reach," Fang En admitted.

"No problem, I can help amplify your magic. You can try," Ruosha said.

As she spoke, an unusual energy suddenly surrounded them. Indeed, the strength of the communication magic increased several fold!

Ruosha turned to leave, but before she did, she looked back over her shoulder.
