Chapter 775: Chapter 609: Stellar Realm Arena
"What?"
The Red-skinned brother’s eyes widened.
"Didn’t catch that? Let me repeat it—I’ll solve them for you, but all the money from this job is mine." Long Yi repeated.
The Red-skinned brother was clearly stunned, but he didn’t think Long Yi was insane. Could it be his luck was really turning?
"Deal!"
The Red-skinned brother was quite decisive. Since he couldn’t keep everything anyway, he might as well gamble a bit more!
"Alright, then dear ladies, could I ask for your help?"
Long Yi chuckled, and immediately, amid peals of merry giggles, Little Zi and thirteen Female Demon Avatars detached from Long Yi’s body and darted out, weaving swiftly through the starship cabins toward the neighboring vessels. The sounds of anguished cries soon echoed from the direction of the Array.
"What’s going on? What’s happening?"
The arrogant old man who had looked so smug only moments before now sounded panicked. Suddenly, the figure of Little Zi appeared before the Array. With a casual touch to the old man’s forehead, he dropped dead to the floor mere seconds later.
A few minutes later, Little Zi and all the avatars returned.
"It’s done. The starships are yours. But let me emphasize— the money is mine."
The Red-skinned brother and his men were dumbfounded.
What on earth just happened? Since when could Mountain Giants split into avatars? Some of the red-skinned gang, more timid than the rest, began to shudder. This swift killing ability sure wasn’t something a Mountain Giant should possess!
"Get a grip, everyone!"
The Red-skinned brother roared.
"Go! All of you, bring those starships over here now! Connect them together! As of today, these starships are ours, brothers!"
Their boss was brave enough to take up the mission indeed.
Once his men left, the Red-skinned brother hurriedly approached.
"Boss, where should we go next?"
"How would I know where you want to go? I’m a total stranger in these parts."
"I was originally planning to head to the Stellar Realm Arena. Mountain Giants could fetch a good price there. But now... wherever you want to go, I’ll follow."
By now, the Red-skinned brother was quite clear—this Long Yi was certainly no Mountain Giant. He was likely a master trapped on that planet, seeking a lift back!
"Me? I want to go to the Heaven Realm." Long Yi declared.
"Ah? Heaven Realm?" The Red-skinned brother looked troubled.
"What, the Heaven Realm is a no-go?" Long Yi smiled.
"It’s not that we can’t go there. It’s just that we’re in the Lower Plane here. We need to find a Plane Teleportation Gate first... but those are Giant technologies, monopolized by those huge empires stretching across galaxies. They’re not usually accessible to the common folk," the Red-skinned brother explained while scratching his head.
"So where do you suggest we go first?" asked Long Yi. It was clear that the Red-skinned brother knew his stuff.
"Well, if you really are from a high plane, you can reveal your identity to anyone associated with a major empire. They’d be more than happy to serve you," said the Red-skinned brother.
"I’m just a Nameless nobody," Long Yi laughed.
"Well, I have a solution for that." Sweat trickled down the Red-skinned brother’s face. If someone like you is a Nameless nobody, then what does that make us? Insects?
"I know of a Plane Teleportation Gate in The Divine Auffa Empire. In this Lower Plane, The Divine Auffa Empire ranks among the top three. But if you want to get close to the Teleportation Gate, I think we should still head to the Stellar Realm Arena. All the major empires and families constantly monitor it, looking out for good fighters. With your strength, you’re bound to stand out. Also, if you can win three championships in a row, your name will become known to these big empires and families. They will send someone to talk to you."
The Red-skinned brother was very thorough, and the sincerity was palpable on his face.
"He speaks the truth."
Little Zi unexpectedly spoke up from behind the Red-skinned brother, startling him to jump away with a yelp.
"Fine! I’ll take your advice. Let’s head to the Stellar Realm Arena."
The five starships were tied together, and the Red-skinned brother’s men quickly recovered from their fear, beginning to plan their future lives. These five starships were worth much more than a group of Mountain Giants. Especially given that these starships came from that notorious gang and even hid treasures inside!
But Long Yi didn’t care about that. He was true to his word—all the stuff on the starships now belonged to this group of red-skinned creatures.
The Stellar Realm Arena is a moon orbiting a large planet. Both its climate and gravity are ideal for life. At some point, the first Arena was built here, attracting many people’s attention, and soon enough, more and more were built.
Now, there are twelve large Arenas on it. There are over a hundred medium-sized ones, and countless small ones. Battles are happening here every moment. Death is an everyday reality here.
Red Skin escorted Long Yi and his team here, where an arena master gave him a card. Red Skin took the card and handed it over to Long Yi.
Long Yi burst into laughter as he saw the card.
’Fine Gold artifact, made by Giants.’
The item was mass-produced in the world of Giants to store personal information. However, here it was used as a device for recording personal finances.
It was said that this thing was universally recognized across all three planes: upper, middle, and lower.
Then, Big Brother Red Skin took Long Yi to another arena and told him that not all arenas were created equal, and that this one was the best.
It was a smaller arena, but the crowd was much larger. The arena master was not tall and had a bluish skin and big eyes, appearing innocently adorable. But Red Skin warned Long Yi that this creature was incredibly crafty, and the four biggest arenas on the planet were all run by their species.
Long Yi would never underestimate such a seemingly harmless creature.
Back when he was still on Earth, there was a line in a martial arts novel that struck him deeply: ’Beware of children, old people, and women when traveling the world, because anyone who can stand their ground in this turbulent world must be extraordinary.’
Long Yi was well aware of the truth in this statement, and he had no doubts that these seemingly harmless creatures were no exception.
The owner of this arena was named Bigby. His attitude towards Long Yi was quite friendly. However, rules were rules. When fighting here, fighters had to abide by the arrangements. You could request more fights, but refusal was not allowed.
Long Yi was quite pleased with this arrangement.
The first day he arrived here, Long Yi was eager to participate in his first fight.
Newcomers didn’t have the privilege of single fights. Instead, everyone started with a hundred-person melee. Professional observers in the arena would evaluate your performance and match you with appropriate opponents accordingly.
Fighting was a form of entertainment, and keeping the audience happy was the most important thing.
In a hundred-man vs. hundred-man melee, Long Yi, disguised as a Mountain Giant and armored with a Crystal Core armor, charged ahead, single-handedly defeating sixty opponents.
Such an impressive performance had Bigby grinning from ear to ear.
Then, Long Yi participated in the next fifty-man vs. fifty-man battle.
Long Yi defeated twenty-four of the opponents.
And in a twenty-man vs. twenty-man melee, Long Yi took down ten opponents.
Next, Long Yi was scheduled to participate in a five-man vs. five-man match.
Before the match even started, Long Yi said to his team, "Guys, why don’t you rest in the back? I’ll handle this on my own."
The other four team members didn’t mind, and so, Long Yi went into the fight alone. A few minutes later, he emerged with a victorious smile.
"That was easier than I thought."
What a promising contender!
Bigby was jubilant. In the arena, he loved seeing a confident contender like Long Yi who could attract all the attention and glory to himself.
Yes, this contestant named as Long Yi had just that potential! Maybe, he could soon ascend to the middle-sized arena!
Long Yi used his real name, and he contemplated slightly modifying his name for a more intriguing ring. Such a tweak would easily help those who knew him personally identify him. However, upon further thought, he wondered if calling himself ’One Dragon’ would infringe on someone’s copyright. In the end, he decided to stick with his real name.
On his first day, Long Yi proved his strength. The next day, he naturally earned his place in his long-awaited ladder match.
A ladder match meant ascending up the ranks by successively challenging stronger opponents. Every win allowed you to replace your defeated contender. Ladder matches were the most exciting, as nothing was more captivating for the audience than seeing a contender constantly challenging and defeating stronger opponents. Especially if this newcomer was powerful with a potential of clinching the championship, he would undoubtedly attract everyone’s attention.
Long Yi was such a contender.
Before the match started, Long Yi declared confidently.
"I’m here for the championship!"
This bold statement immediately elicited jeers from the crowd, as many were loyal fans of the current King of the Arena. The appearance of an unknown fighter who suddenly announced his ambition for the championship was seen as utterly audacious!
However, Long Yi’s performance was definitely capable of backing up his audacity.
His opponent was such a weakling that Long Yi felt sorry for him. With just one punch, his opponent was down, clutching his stomach and crying.
This was, of course, a regular part of the competition. Give a fighter an easy win for the first round to make his record look better. All the arenas followed this tradition, a sort of custom.
The spectators had no idea that they were about to witness an exhilarating performance.
Starting from the second opponent, Long Yi began a crushing victory streak. Regardless of their abilities, whether Magic or Fighting Aura, his opponents were inferior to him! (To be continued.
