Chapter 719: Chapter 574: Is This Even Possible? _2
A millennia-long curse and repression filled every dragon with resentment.
Some dragons transferred this resentment onto the Giants, considering that the curse came from them. However, to Asus’s perspective, would the peace-loving Giants have cursed the Dragon Clan if it weren’t for their betrayal?
But, any thoughts were too late by this point, the war had already begun. Facing the intense momentum of Gulelie, only victory could bring him to his senses.
At this moment, Wesley was closed his eyes, preserving his energy, the impending war didn’t affect him too much. From a naive youngster to a formidable Dragon Knight in a mere few years, he had evolved from a lad who enjoyed peeping at girls bathing to a force to be reckoned with. Although his battleground wasn’t at the frontline, he was making his own valuable contributions. Wesley knew his role was significant, and the Dragon Clan wouldn’t neglect him in this decisive battle. Perhaps, he would face a fierce battle this time.
But it’s alright, he trusted his friends who would always stand by his side.
"Don’t worry! If the enemy comes, we’ll be the first to run." The cook came over and patted Wesley on the shoulder.
"Have you finished writing your love letter?" Wesley asked with a smile.
"No. I spent half a day and couldn’t bring myself to write a single word. I feel like I have a lot to write, but when the pen touches the paper, everything disappears." The cook sighed as he sat next to Wesley.
"That means something." Wesley said.
"I’m a little nervous," the cook replied.
"Where’s Mosquito?" Wesley looked around but he couldn’t find Mosquito.
"Having a last blast with his two girlfriends," the cook replied.
"I’m envious," Wesley responded.
"Don’t be. Wait until you’ve got a Blood Raven girlfriend and you’ll see how scary it can be." The cook shook his head. Then he laughed, saying, "But you don’t seem to be in a rush, do you have someone you like?"
"Yep." Wesley replied nonchalantly.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Yes," Wesley confirmed.
"Who?"
"The Divine Envoy."
Bang!
The cook immediately fell over, then quickly struggled to his feet.
"Kid, are you serious?"
"Yeah. I once thought I liked girls with long legs and big chests. But after meeting the Divine Envoy, I realized I’m powerless against such a pure type of girl."
"Does she know you like her?"
"Probably not? I heard the Divine Envoy can’t read human thoughts," Wesley said.
"What are you waiting for?"
"Should I say it?"
"Yes!"
"Now?"
"Right!"
"Alright!"
For some unknown reason, Wesley got fired up, stood up and stormed out.
The cook burst out laughing.
Mosquito arrived just then, seeing the cook laughing uproariously, he quickly asked what was going on. Upon hearing that Wesley had gone to confess to the Divine Envoy, the two of them fell into fits of laughter on the floor.
A few minutes later, Wesley walked back in, a stupefied look on his face and his legs seeming filled with lead. Seeing Wesley like this, the cook and Mosquito each patted him on a shoulder.
"Young man, be realistic. Lean on your Little Left and Little Right every day, don’t always daydream. She is a Divine Envoy, after all," the cook said solemnly, with Mosquito nodding frequently on the side.
But Wesley looked up, his face filled with disbelief as he stared at the cook and Mosquito. He muttered four words that struck fear into their hearts.
"She agreed!"
Divine Envoy has become Wesley’s girlfriend!
The news shocked everyone, leaving the Dragon Legion dumbfounded. In the Dragon Legion, Wesley was a source of joy. This good-natured lad with big eyes and large ears, always laughed and joked with the cook and Mosquito, lifting everyone’s spirits. There were rumors that he used to peep at girls bathing when he was younger.
Many girls hadn’t thought of seeing Wesley as a man because of his behavior. Now, Wesley had made a leap and his girlfriend was at the Divine Envoy level!
A Divine Envoy, a messenger of God! Although humans weren’t too interested in gods and ghosts in this world, especially in the military, the title of the Creator still carried some weight. The fact that a joker like Wesley had won the favor of a Divine Envoy was nothing short of a miracle.
At first, people doubted it, but when the two of them started going out in public regularly, everyone realized that this was not a rumor.
Worried, Dragon Yi found the Divine Envoy, as he was unsure about what this out-ofplace entity wanted out of this.
"Just for the record, if you"re pretending to observe humans, I’m going to get really mad." Dragon Yi got straight to the point as they were alone.
"If I said that I really liked him, would you believe me?" The Divine Envoy asked.
"Not likely," Dragon Yi replied, "You guys haven"t known each other long. Before I found you, you couldn"t even be called a humanoid life form. Given your theories and slight disregard for life, I have every reason to distrust that you even understand what love is. I"m worried that Wesley might be at a disadvantage with you."
Dragon Yi was very direct, but the Divine Envoy just smiled as he watched Dragon Yi.
"What you said makes sense, and your suspicion seems to be correct. But here’s my problem – I do like Wesley. Do you know, when Wesley confessed to me, he mentioned all of your concerns, and told me he didn"t care. Tears welled up in her eyes.
"Love is blind," Dragon Yi shook his head.
"I know what you’re worried about, Giant. But the least of your worries should be me," the Divine Envoy said.
"Why?"
"Because, as you said, I disregard life – I disincline to lie. If I didn’t like him, I would have told him directly. But now, I really like him. Maybe, you should let us try this out. Wesley is not a fool, he knows exactly what he’s doing," the Divine Envoy answered.
The way the Divine Envoy put it was very straightforward; even if it sounded rude, it made much sense.
Looking at the Divine Envoy, Dragon Yi sighed. There were too many things on his plate now. All he could do was trust that Wesley and the Divine Envoy truly loved each other. Despite the discrepancy of their species, who knew, it might be a good thing!
