Chapter 588: Chapter 467 A Big Gift
Fortunately, Yavenny didn’t continue to press the issue.
"Alright, alright, stop daydreaming now. Time is precious, let’s talk about the important stuff!"
Yavenny said while clapping her hands.
You’ve got some nerve to flirt with me when time is so precious.
"You must know about the Dragon Clan’s rebalancing by now. Have you thought about how to handle it?" Yavenny inquired.
"Play it by ear. I don’t know exactly what the Dragon Clan intends to do. Regardless, I suspect there’s something fishy about that grand prize. I’ll just steer clear of any traps." Long Yi remarked.
"You’re going to avoid traps? You’re already on Dragon Island. Where else can you go? Just take a look at the crowd around you that’s out to kill you. The idiot Gulelie from Dragon Clan, the two idiotic warriors from the Celestial Clan, the useless Yake from the Black Dragon Empire. They all seem to outclass you. Can you handle it, with your small physique?" Yavenny mocked.
"Sure, except for the Dragon Clan, everyone else is garbage." Long Yi retorted.
"So, how will you deal with the Dragon Clan?" Yavenny asked.
"We’ll figure something out." Long Yi conceded.
" Figure something out? You can’t possibly be thinking about using your ace in the hole, annihilating them along with yourself, and starting over, can you?" Yavenny queried.
"Hmm? How did you know!" Long Yi was astonished. Yavenny’s understanding of him was truly impressive.
"Hmph, I even know how many hairs you have! Drop that crap idea. But I can indeed offer you a potential solution. This approach might have a chance to pull you out of this crisis, but it also depends on your abilities. Are you interested?" Yavenny offered.
"Do I have any other options?" At this point, Long Yi didn’t have much in the way of alternatives, being forced into a corner, any retreat would spell death.
"Haha, I will grant you some special powers. These powers are so unique, so special that currently in the multiverse, only I possess them. You need to master these new powers within one day. If you can achieve that, you’ll be a few steps further away from death." Yavenny told him.
Long Yi nodded, then, he looked at Yavenny very seriously: "Yavenny, can you answer one question honestly for me"
This was the first time Long Yi didn’t address her as teacher, which greatly surprised Yavenny: "Tell me, I’ll answer anything I can."
"I just want to know, if the Dragon Clan fails to achieve their goal, will they become frantic enough to declare war on me."
Upon hearing this question, Yavenny seriously pondered for a while. Eventually, she sighed and said: "I don’t know, this time, I really don’t know. Since the Giant War back in the day, the Dragon Clan has split into many branches, with the Human Realm’s Dragon Clan being the most unpopular one among them. The effects of the Giant’s curse on Dragon Clan are overwhelming, as they’ve lost both their blessing of freely utilizing Dragon Power and their ability to reproduce. They can’t fight, and they can’t propagate their species. The Dragon Clan of the Human Realm managed to find a temporary solution using the technology of the Giants. On Dragon Star, after billions of dragons died, the remaining several billion dragons have all entered a dormant pseudo-death state. On different planets, either the dragons adapted to the local environment and regained their reproductive ability, forming another branch of the Dragon Clan like your friend from the Demon Abyss, or they went extinct due to scarcity of numbers. There are also creatures that inherited the Dragon Power, gradually forming indigenous dragon species like your friend’s Hive Dragon, but those have nothing to do with the Dragon Clan."
"Among these dragons, the ones hoping the most to lift the curse are surely the ones remaining in the Human Realm. They’re willing to resort to any means to achieve this. If they truly believe your existence is a major hindrance towards the Dragon Clan’s recovery, I think they would really do it."
"Alright, that makes sense." Long Yi nodded, he just wanted to assess the severity of the situation. The outcome proved that the situation was extremely severe. Or more accurately, the Dragon Clan was incredibly stubborn. Couldn’t they just try something else? Thousands of years have passed, and they’ve made no progress. Do they still believe their approach is effective? Even if it were to eventually prove effective, the efficiency is abysmal!
"Relax now, as your most trusted teacher, haven’t I brought you a solution? Come on, lend me your hand!"
Long Yi stretched out his hand as instructed and Teacher Yavenny immediately took it, intertwining their fingers.
"These powers are no ordinary powers. Once you obtain this part of power, better be discreet and careful not to let anyone discover. Because once it’s known that you have these powers, even your Giant identity may not be able to protect you." Yavenny whispered.
"What kind of power could be so mysterious?"
"Divine Power!" Yavenny said cheerfully.
Mysterious power flowed gently from Yavenny’s palm to Long Yi’s. He felt the power to be quite minuscule but intricate.
It emitted no sense of majesty or dominance. After entering Long Yi’s palm, it didn’t even provoke any reaction from the Giant’s power!
This, is Divine Power?
Yavenny opened her palm, and Long Yi looked at his own, perplexed. There were no miracles, no shadows or light.
