Chapter 463: Chapter 354: Chop!

Suolin meticulously cleaned herself in a secluded corner, leaving no footprints or traces of rain on her body. Her smooth dragon scales made all this easy to achieve. Then she stealthily infiltrated the palace, beginning her hunt for Kaniel throughout the imperial residence.

The study? No!

The sleeping quarters? No, again! However, the sight of his three favoured concubines entwined in the lavish bed was hard to forget, especially their malicious grins every time someone suffered.

Goodbye, wretches. No one will discover your absence until after Kaniel returns.

Leaving the sleeping quarters, everyone was absent.

In that case, the Emperor could only be in one place.

The underground laboratory.

Kaniel had built an unprecedented underground lab beneath the imperial palace, a detail unknown to Long Yi during his last visit. Here, all sorts of cruel experiments constantly occurred, with screams and cries echoing intermittently. This was the place that had driven many top scientists to madness.

Now, the one who calls the shots here, was none other than Tilian.

Kaniel was more than satisfied with Tilian. Initially, Kaniel had suspected Tilian might harbour ulterior motives. But as the Servant Contract was signed and one successful experiment after another transpired, Kaniel was absolutely certain that Tilian had become his most loyal subordinate.

Almost every night, Kaniel and Tilian would inspect every corner of the laboratory, personally supervising the outcomes of every experiment. He would personally commend anyone who contributed to the success of an experiment, and just as personally behead any scientist who repeatedly failed in their experiments.

We don’t need waste here, was the guiding motto of Kaniel.

In the contract, Kaniel forcibly extracted power from each enslaved servant. Using countless contracts that even he lost track of, Kaniel amassed power far beyond his limits. This made him incredibly strong, invigorated and tireless. But his servants were constantly drained in return — not that Kaniel cared.

However, today was different.

Because today, was the day his son, Yake Black, would be reincarnated!

Yes, the very same Yake Black who was once cut into six pieces by Long Yi!

In reality, if what they desired was a simple resurrection, the necromancy of the Black Dragon Empire was already sufficient to bring Yake back under the sunlight. However, that was not what Yake wanted. He yearned for more powerful strength, a force unparalleled in this world, even strong enough to defeat Elsa!

Reiz originally presided over Yake’s transformation project, assuring Yake he could defeat Elsa. But with Reiz’s death, Tilian took over the project. Tilian was brutally honest, saying Reiz was a fool, the idea of defeating Elsa was a pipe dream. As a member of the Celestial Clan’s royalty, Elsa possessed a superior strength. Even a casual flick of her hair could crush you, so you should forget about it.

In the end, Yake found a more practical target.

He would kill Long Yi with his own hands!

Tilian liked this goal and promised Yake that he would indeed help him kill Long Yi.

Yake had been cut into six pieces by Long Yi in their first encounter, and his mount dragon severely wounded by Long Yi’s Dragon Spear. Although he survived by a fluke, he was unable to fight again and agreed to Tilian’s plan, steered by his hatred for Long Yi.

Yake and his dragon would become one entity by using the Dragon Blood Reincarnation.

The Dragon Blood Reincarnation represents the highest magic that merges humans and the Dragon Clan. Even though the Black Dragon Empire had developed this magic, it had never successfully been executed. The reincarnation requires a dragon to willingly give up its own existence. And the bigger challenge was finding the corresponding power to trigger Dragon Blood Reincarnation.

The Dragon Blood Reincarnation was only theoretically possible.

However, Tilian found an alternative.

He had help from the gates of Hell. The Eternal Emperor gave Tilian a drop of foul sludge from Hell. Utilizing the power of this sludge, Tilian could merge with his Black Dragon. The result would be an imperfect fusion, but Yake didn’t care because he sought infinite strength!

Finally, Tilian succeeded.

And at that moment, as Kaniel stood before that monstrous giant beaming with pride, his eyes blazed with ecstatic fervour!

"You are the strongest! My son!"

He took in the sight of a monstrous creature close to three meters tall, a terrifying pair of dragon horns on its head. Half of his face was still human, but the other half was devoid of skin, revealing sharp, dragon-like fangs. A giant dragon tail lay behind him, lacking dragon wings. Black dragon bone armor covered most of his body. If you looked closely at his chest, you would see the head of a Black Dragon and a pair of blood-red eyes staring at everyone present.

"Almost ten Dragon Markings." muttered Tilian softly.

Kaniel nodded excitedly, feeling almost dizzy. His exhilaration was palpable since he had not anticipated his son to transform so perfectly!

"Are you alright, Your Majesty? Do you need to rest?" Tilian supporting Kaniel asked.

"How long until my son awakens?" the Emperor asked.

"Around three hours." replied Tilian.

"Take me to the resting room. I don’t want him to see a feeble Emperor!" Kaniel said.

In this vast underground lab, there were innumerable resting rooms built to cater to the Emperor himself. These rooms were installed with large glass panels that allowed the Emperor to watch the outside proceedings, while also making him visible from outside.

Kaniel loved this place. He relished watching experiments succeed before his eyes with the belief that his presence could boost the morale of the scientists.

Yes, if you can’t do well, you die.

Tilian escorted Emperor Kaniel to his resting room and then departed. Kaniel watched his son Yake, bound on the structure, feeling content.

Meanwhile, Suolin was already inside the laboratory, but with no opportunity in sight. The entrance to a sleeping chamber was guarded by two Dragon Knights.

Attack openly? She could handle the two Dragon Knights without much difficulty. But opening the door to the sleeping chamber would be a challenge. The sleeping chamber dedicated to the Emperor could only be unlocked from inside, while the surrounding walls, mixed of rocks and steel, were simply too robust to penetrate quickly. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

The only entry point left was by breaking the massive glass pane.

Suolin silently lay in wait for a strenuous half-hour, scrutinizing the Emperor’s actions through the glass. The Emperor was evidently tired, like someone who hadn’t slept enough. He maintained his body using the energy forcibly seized from his servants, but breaking the natural law of biology was not infallible after all.

Just as Kaniel reclined on his plush couch, dozing off, Suolin began feeling a sense of urgency.

Suddenly, Kaniel stirred. He slowly stood up and walked towards the corner of the room.

A restroom?

This was her moment!

Invisible Suolin harnessed her entire Dragon Power and sprinted full speed towards the front of the resting room. The sound of her feet hitting the steel floor halted everyone around. Nearly everyone heard the footsteps, but no one could see anyone.

Suddenly! The dragon guarding the front of the resting room let out a shrill shriek. Its infrared vision had detected invisible Suolin!

So what if you’ve discovered me! It’s too late for you now!

Boom! A heavy footstep hammered on the floor, creating a dent where the steel plate had been. And there, in mid-air, Suolin appeared!

Boost the defense!

A dense black coating seeped out from beneath the scales, encapsulating Suolin in an instant.

Kaboom!

Just one punch was enough to shatter the massive glass, and Suolin barged into the resting room at the same time.

At this moment, in a corner of the room, the Black Dragon Emperor Kaniel Black was sitting on the toilet, completely oblivious of what’s going on.

Crack!

The bathroom door was kicked down, and someone barged in.

"Who are you?"

Kaniel roared wrathfully. Only then did he get a clear look at the intruder.

She appeared to be a woman, entirely clad in a shimmering metallic black. Her face was hidden, but her figure was impeccable.

Racking his brain, Kaniel tried to figure out the intruder’s identity, but he failed to find a match.

"You’ve obviously forgotten me, your majesty. But I can’t forget you at all," Suolin spoke.

"Who are you really?" Not recognizing the voice, Kaniel tried to buy some time. He had already heard his Dragon Knights breaking down the door to get to him.

"I am Suolin," she quietly said as she approached Kaniel.

"You!"

Kaniel’s eyes widened, but right at that moment, he lost the feeling of his body. His vision went blurry, and he vaguely saw his body slowly falling onto the toilet, blood gushing out like a fountain.

Suolin!

Wasn’t she supposed to be dead?

In Kaniel’s memory, she was the thin and tiny creature, branded as a successful failure!

Didn’t she self-destruct?

Why?

Why is she here?

Why does she look like this now?

Why?

Why?

Why?

Kaniel’s mind flooded with questions. He tried to cry out, but his lungs were long gone, incapable of making any sound. The servants who had a contract with him shared more life power with him, preventing his immediate death; but it only amplified his agony!

The main door smashed into pieces in an instant, but Suolin had once again turned invisible and leaped out of the window.

Thud!

Suolin, her body shielded by Fighting Aura, crash-landed on the testing table. Beside her, the three-meter-tall Giant slowly started to open its eyes.

To an outsider, they could only see the air wavering and a head floating mid-air. But through the Dragon’s eyes, they could see the heat of Suolin’s body.

There was no time for Suolin to pause and observe these changes; she immediately sprang forward. Behind her, Fighting Aura attacks started to pour in.

Maximum defense mode!

The ventilation gaps behind Suolin’s scales exuded coating, condensing into an extremely solid armor.

The impact of the Fighting Aura attacks on Suolin’s back was intense, yet she remained indifferent!

Secretly, Suolin thanked Long Yi for his perfect preparation.

From beginning to end, no one could see what Suolin truly looked like.

"Seal all the exits!" shouted Tilian, who was next to Yake. Immediately, all exits were blocked. However, Suolin did not head towards the exits; she charged straight into the depths of the laboratory.

Seeing Suolin disappearing, Tilian thought for a moment and then called an assistant.

"The Emperor is still alive thanks to the help of his contract! Release all of the emperor’s servants! Let them find the emperor!"

"Yes!" The assistant immediately moved, and soon, inhuman roars echoed from the laboratory’s depths. Soon after, a group of monstrous creatures was chasing in the direction where Suolin had disappeared.

Finally, silence ensued. Tilian looked up at Yake and asked softly, "What do you think of my arrangements, emperor?"

Yake Black, who was hooked on a rack with his eyes closed, showed a terrifying smile on his face. (To be continued. If you like this story, please visit qidian.com and vote. Your support fuels my motivation. Mobile users please go to m.qidian.com to read.)
