Chapter 439: Chapter 335 Victory!
"Yeah, something’s off!" Isrile reverted back to her human form, panting, yet her face held a look of confusion.
"What’s wrong?" Ai Lin hastily asked.
"We all felt the severance of our contract with Long Yi, but we haven’t sensed his death." Isrile said.
"In other words, because of some sort of mishap, Brother Long disappeared, but he didn’t die." Little Zi spoke.
That moment, Wesley, who had been keeping a close eye on the battle all along, finally spoke up: "I think I know why."
Ahead, the first giant Crazy Demon had not reverted back into its originally grotesque and ugly form, instead, it transformed into a gigantic human figure. The face of that man was unmistakably Long Yi’s!
"It’s Brother Long!"
Ai Lin was so overjoyed she wept.
Boom!
A hefty punch landed squarely on the head of the second giant Crazy Demon. The fist, glinting with a golden glow, shattered the demon’s head instantly. Simultaneously, the giant Long Yi clasped his hands together, fiercely smashing down. Another loud bang followed, the giant Crazy Demon was full of cracks. Then, the giant Long Yi tripped the demon to the ground, his fists pounding continuously. The deafening sound of impacts echoed non-stop.
However, just then, Wesley suspiciously voiced out: "Huh? Why is there a sound of a bell?"
Upon hearing this, everyone indeed noticed that in between Long Yi’s continuous punches, a tinkling bell-like sound was heard.
What was happening?
However, following that, every girl’s face turned beet red.
With Long Yi’s rhythmic attacks, a crystal swung back and forth, producing regular bell-like sounds.
Boom!
The giant Crazy Demon was finally utterly shattered. The gigantic Long Yi pulled out the Crystal Core in one swoop. He let out a triumphant roar in front of Ai Lin and the others, indicating his victory. However, everyone’s gaze lingered on another particular spot.
This was really...
Too harmonious.
Right now, in the eyes of Long Yi, this was just too awesome.
He had never expected that something like this could happen! At the moment he turned into a crystal and entered the Crystal Core, he immediately understood what had happened. His blood flowed into the Crystal Core, and the power of the Giant contained within immediately merged with the original power inside the Core. After Lingling was absorbed, her consciousness continued standing against the original consciousness in the Crystal Core. When Long Yi was absorbed, the Giant’s mighty consciousness completely gained the upper hand, eliminating the Crystal Core’s original consciousness entirely. Therefore, it was safe to say that the gigantic body now, was a hybrid of Long Yi and Lingling’s.
The Giant’s power was no longer bound by the body, allowing Long Yi to release all his power. Lingling’s Demon Power could cause Long Yi’s attacks to inflict lethal damage on the Crazy Demons.
But, there was one minor issue.
How was he to recover?
Now that he thought about it, this was surely not a minor problem!
"Lingling, do you have a way?"
Long Yi asked in his mind.
"No, I don’t."
Lingling answered.
Thus, Long Yi could only desperately scour through his memories, attempting to find a solution to this situation among his inherited knowledge. However, it was disappointing that the inherited knowledge was not all-powerful. At least within Long Yi’s database of knowledge, there was no solution to the problem.
It appeared that even for Giants, knowledge about Crystal Cores must have been frontier technology.
Wait a minute!
I have a solution!
"Cough cough, can you guys hear me?"
The giant Long Yi spoke up, his voice resounding like thunder.
"We can! Brother Long, are you okay?"
Ai Lin immediately rushed over, her face laden with worry.
"I’m fine for now but I’ve encountered a small problem, it seems that I can’t revert back to my original form. I need you all to take the Crystal Cores and leave immediately, I have a solution but it’s a bit risky. You guys should go first." Long Yi said.
"No, let them go first, I’ll stay with you!" Ai Lin shook her head.
"The danger I’m referring to, is danger for all of you, be good and leave, you know I won’t mess up." Long Yi spoke.
Ai Lin really didn’t want to leave, but since Long Yi had spoken like that, there must be compelling reasons for his words.
"Then, I’ll stay with you." Little Zi asserted.
"No need, you should go, too. It’s dangerous here." Long Yi said.
"No way, I am the only successful semi-energy being here who has undergone Crystal Core fusion. If you encounter any trouble, you’ll surely need my help. Moreover, I’m not sure why our contract disappeared, but I won’t just easily leave you, rest assured!"
Little Zi smiled, she seemed joyous, but it was clear she was not happy about the contract disappearing, who knows what this quirky little girl was happy about.
Once the battlefield was cleared, Ai Lin was the last to leave. It was clear that she didn’t want to leave, but she didn’t want to be a burden either.
Seeing everyone had left, Long Yi immediately turned to attend his own restoration affairs.
Long Yi had a plan.
The Giant’s Scepter.
Having studied it endlessly, Long Yi had begun to understand its baffling working mechanism. It could precisely transform one substance into another, and for organisms, it had an even more peculiar approach.
Long Yi planned to utilize the principle of the Giant’s scepter to transform himself from a Crystal Demon back into his Giant form.
Usually, this would be difficult.
However, Long Yi had an assistant.
It was none other than his so-called Giant’s tablet.
The Giant’s tablet would monitor all the ongoing Giant experiments in its vicinity, including any event involving the Giant’s power. Naturally, this included Long Yi’s current state. The Giant’s tablet could communicate with the Giant’s scepter in real-time, exchanging data.
Despite his newfound colossal form, Long Yi could still manipulate the data on the tablet using his Giant’s power. At this moment, he was grateful that he hailed from a modern society and was an engineering major, as the program logic on the simple tablet would’ve bewildered the people of this world.
After several hours, Long Yi had adjusted all the settings to his preference. He held the Crystal Core and took a deep breath subconsciously.
Everything hinged on this!
The Giant’s scepter appeared and began to grow to suit Long Yi’s giant size. Intricate runes began to glow at the top of the scepter, emitting a radiant light that shot straight towards Long Yi’s chest. Meanwhile, another beam of light was shot into the large Crystal Core.
Little Zi could almost see a complex energy being drawn from the Crystal Core in Long Yi’s chest and injected into another Crystal Core.
Nearly instantaneously, the consciousness within the original Crystal Core began resisting.
Being proficient in mental magic, Little Zi was well aware that it was Long Yi’s consciousness in contention with the original consciousness for the ownership of the Crystal Core!
Joking aside, with me, a master of mental magic here, did you really think you stand a chance?
The thirteen Female Demons quickly surrounded the Crystal Core. Within moments, they had vanquished the original consciousness with precise mental impact.
Elsewhere, the giant form that no longer housed Long Yi’s consciousness began to alter. It became shorter and thinner, finally taking on the appearance of LingLing in her Giant form, still holding the Crystal Core but now exuding a soft golden glow.
At this moment, the Giant’s scepter began the next step.
The Crystal Core in LingLing’s hand started emitting light and rapidly split and combined, like cells. Before long, the Crystal Core was too heavy for LingLing, forcing her to put it on the ground.
On the ground, a large human shape slowly formed. As it was taking shape, the Giant’s scepter swiftly shrunk as did the giant, causing dust to fly all over the place.
"Huff!"
Long Yi drew a deep breath, only to begin coughing fiercely due to the dust in the air.
Long Yi, while coughing, walked out of the cavity in the shape of a human that was just pressed out.
"I’m back!"
A drenched-in-sweat Long Yi roared.
Indeed, soaked in sweat.
Long Yi initially thought that the Giant’s scepter would use a more brutal method to forcefully convert the Crystal Core into a physical body. But, evidently, he had underestimated the extent of the Giant’s scepter’s perversion.
The Giant’s scepter accepted the command to restore Long Yi to his original state, but its approach was downright unusual.
It took one Crystal Core as a cell, used the blueprint of this cell, absorbed all the available resources in the environment, and kept splitting and compressing the cell.
Ultimately, the Giant’s scepter reconstituted Long Yi’s complete Giant body!
But!
At the last moment, it shrank Long Yi’s body down to human size!
Long Yi had a thorough check of every nook and cranny of his body, especially being extra cautious about issues concerning his descendants, to ascertain that there were no issues. Only then was he at ease.
Upon opening his private space, he got a set of clothes. Then, Long Yi realized that his Fighting Aura had increased once more – by two levels!
Six Dragon Marks!
Excellent!
However, Long Yi was currently unsure whether his body should be considered human or a Crystal Demon. He could feel his pulse, and simultaneously, the Giant’s power. However, he was certain that his body was originally composed of a Crystal Core. He could even feel the Crystal Poison flowing in his blood. But it did not resemble the typical Crystal Poison that was hell-bent on assimilating organisms; instead, it seemed more like powerful energy stored in his blood.
For this reason, Long Yi no longer feared the Crystal Poison.
In the distance, even more Crazy Demons had been provoked. It was time to leave.
"Let’s go, Lingling," Long Yi said.
Lingling nodded, her gigantic body vanishing instantly, replaced by a crystal-clear little girl by Long Yi’s side.
The spatial channel was becoming increasingly unstable, it was reaching its limit.
"Goodbye, Crazy Demons! I’ll be back for you!"
Long Yi roared merrily and stepped into the channel. As Long Yi was stepping out, the spatial channel flickered suddenly and disappeared. Long Yi only felt a chill at his heel. His shoe had been cut off by the space!
My goodness, if I had been a bit slower, wouldn’t I have become a half-bodied person?
No way! I need to go gambling! People say that someone who survived a catastrophe is bound to have good fortune, right? I survived two catastrophes, where’s my good fortune?
Upon seeing Long Yi, everyone let out a thunderous cheer. Ai Lin was the first to rush at him, her emotions bare as she hugged Long Yi’s waist tightly, afraid that he would vanish again. Long Yi too laughed heartily, lifting Ai Lin in his arms.
Such life-and-death combat was truly exhilarating!
However, the cheer only lasted a few seconds before it was stopped by the military officers. All the Dragon Knights, sticking to the plan, swiftly cleaned up their equipment, preparing to return to the White Dragon Empire.
The entire operation, from beginning to end, did not last more than twenty hours.
