Chapter 430: Chapter 326: Removing the Rivets

Long Yi took a deep breath and glanced inside the room. He could faintly see an old man lying on the bed, with chains emerging from his chest.

"Old man, when did your spouse start feeling unwell?" Long Yi suddenly asked.

"Huh? How do you know?" the elderly woman asked, bewildered.

"Let me in, please. In gratitude for answering my question, I would like to try and heal him."

The elderly woman was skeptical, but Long Yi’s regal appearance made it hard to believe he had any reason to deceive a poor old woman like her. So, she skeptically let him in.

Long Yi came to the bedside, the old man on the bed looked withered, with just a little life left in him.

"Oh, half a year ago, he was working in the field. He fell down suddenly and has hardly eaten anything since. Every day, he babbles incoherently, saying he fell into water and was caught by a giant octopus. He must be going crazy!"

Long Yi chuckled.

Yes, it’s you!

With that, Long Yi reached out and grabbed one end of the chain. He yanked hard and the old man on the bed groaned. Simultaneously, a gigantic rivet slowly pulled out from his abdomen!

Only Long Yi could see this. Even Little Zi was not aware of what Long Yi was doing. But she felt the Giant power within him running wild. Removing the rivet was not as simple as it seemed!

Bang!

Long Yi stumbled backward as the chain in his hand flew into the sky and disappeared. Clearly, the first rivet had been extracted.

"Six more to go."

With those words, he and Little Zi vanished.

The old woman was still bewildered, but the old man on the bed started to wake up.

"Wife, where am I...?"

When Long Yi appeared again, he was in the middle of a vast battlefield, with bizarre creatures fighting on both sides. Evidently, they hailed from a tech civilization, donning armor equipped with energy shields and holding thermal weapons. The sky was filled with flying machinery and beams of light swept across the ground, etching large crevices.

They were easy to distinguish, one side wore blue power armors and looked human, whereas the other consisted of massive green-skinned monsters in coarse armor, who yelled "waaaaaaagh!" as they fought. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

The appearance of Long Yi instantly drew attention from everyone. The green-skinned side saw him and immediately fired a salvo. Quickly, Long Yi put on his Ethereal Light Shield while firing magic missiles. There was a loud explosion and the green skin warrior attacking Long Yi was instantly shattered.

There was a moment of stunned silence, followed by a cheer from the Power Armor clad side: "For the Emperor!"

"For the Emperor!"

The power-armored warriors began providing Long Yi with covering fire. Meanwhile, Long Yi, fearlessly leading the charge, caused remarkable damage with his magic missiles.

Long Yi didn’t particularly care which side he was on; he was focused on approaching the direction where the chain was hanging in the air.

"Sir! Are you the reinforcements sent by Aerda?"

A warrior rushed to Long Yi and asked.

"I’m on a special mission!" Long Yi shouted.

Just then, with a cloud of smoke, several green-skins wearing jetpacks flew over. Two female demon avatars flew out from Little Zi, shooting ice shards. The jetpacks were frozen in mid-air, and the green-skins screamed as they fell to the ground.

The chain was just ahead.

Long Yi rushed forward only to find that the chain ended at a massive, crudely made vehicle! At that moment, the vehicle was spewing fire, attempting to burn any approaching enemies.

Damn it! It looked as if the vehicle would break down on its own even without being touched. If the rivet’s location broke down, it would find a new place to anchor, which would mean that Long Yi would have to start all over again.

"This is a secret mission, absolutely no attacks on that vehicle!" Long Yi roared.

"Yes! For the Emperor! We will carry out your command! Everyone - do not attack that vehicle!" the warrior shouted.

Bullets and shells rained all around as seemingly endless hordes of green-skins appeared. Drawing his crystal greatsword, Long Yi laid low any enemy that dared to get close to him!

The vehicle was now in sight! But at that moment, the ground erupted, and a gigantic green-skin warrior emerged from underground. He tossed the vehicle aside and roared. Long Yi didn’t understand his gibberish and was puzzled by his aesthetic preference, based on his large iron jaw.

However, the vehicle, that seemed fragile, remained intact, and the green-skins inside swore and ran off with their rifles.

The massive green-skin stood in Long Yi’s path, making it impossible for Long Yi to approach the vehicle without defeating him first.

No matter what, Long Yi’s primary objective remained to keep this green-skin far away from his vehicle!

Just as Long Yi was thinking about this, the green skin rushed at him, brandishing his gigantic axe.

Great! Let’s deal with him!

Clang!

The axe hit the crystal greatsword, and although Long Yi was smaller in size, his strength closely matched that of the green-skin!

The green-skin warrior was surprised to see his strike blocked by Long Yi. In his rage, he roared and began to hack more fiercely.

"You stupid brute, I don’t have time to play with you!"

"Dragon Wing Slash!"

Boom!

The crystal greatsword, imbued with fighting aura, cleaved the giant green-skin warrior in two with a single strike!

The surrounding green-skin warriors scattered in all directions, clearly not interested in fighting anymore.

Long Yi didn’t dare waste time, he rushed to the chariot, grabbed the chains, activated his Giant’s strength and slowly pulled out the rivet.

Almost simultaneously, Long Yi and Little Zi vanished into thin air.

The surrounding warriors looked at each other in confusion.

"This is the gift of the Emperor!"

"It is the Emperor’s blessing!"

"Long live the Emperor!"

"Long live the Emperor!"

The warriors started cheering loudly.

There were still four more!

Bang!

Long Yi landed directly onto a thick carpet, and immediately, four men dressed in black suits rushed at him, pinning him to the ground.

"Who’s there!"

"Cuff him! Slowly interrogate him later!"

Long Yi looked up to see a familiar scene. A massive conference room with a group of military personnel around a table, the screen behind them displayed information that absolutely could not be seen by outsiders.

"My God, this is the Operation Room no.1!" Long Yi exclaimed excitedly.

Indeed, he was on Earth, in the most secret operation room of his home nation. As an ace operative, Long Yi had been here before on a top-secret mission.

"Wow, this big screen, it was never this clear back then. And this unified command system, it can monitor so much data at once, and is this an analysis chart? If I had this back then, it would’ve made things so much easier!" Long Yi could almost cry.

The surrounding military bigwigs were bewildered, they did not see how Long Yi had gotten in, as planning for the operation consumed all their attention. But from his words, it was apparent that it wasn’t Long Yi’s first time here. But how could they forget such a big, noticeable, strong man?

What was odd was that Long Yi was dressed in strange fashion and the little girl was wearing a maid’s outfit, and she was floating!

What?! Floating?!

How was that possible!

"Shut up! Take him away already!" ordered one black-suited man. Obviously, they hadn’t noticed Little Zi hovering behind them.

"Little Zi! Freeze their consciousness!" As soon as Long Yi spoke, all four men stood frozen in their tracks.

Long Yi escaped their grip, quickly ran up to the no.1 commanding officer, and presented a salute.

"Hello, sir!"

The commanding officer looked blankly at Long Yi, completely baffled. The room was located sixty meters underground, built entirely of reinforced concrete and cast steel, with just one entrance. Inside, a bio-signal sensing system monitored every living being’s heart rate to prevent unauthorized entry.

"Who are you?" the commanding officer asked.

"I’m sorry sir, I can’t disclose that at the moment. However, rest assured, I’m one of us," said Long Yi.

"How can I believe you’re one of us?" the commanding officer retorted.

Long Yi thought for a moment, then smirked and turned around.

"If I remember correctly, the weapon is here."

With one punch, the vault cracked open. Long Yi took a handgun from inside.

"I’ll prove it like this."

Saying that, Long Yi handed the handgun to the commanding officer.

Seeing the dust and debris on the gun, the commanding officer was puzzled. The man standing before him was capable of breaking a vault with one punch. What use could the gun be to him?

"So, what’s your objective for suddenly appearing here?" the commanding officer put the gun aside and looked relaxed. Long Yi nodded secretly to himself. The commanding officer was as cool as ever. Even when faced with a gun, he wouldn’t clutch it for comfort, unlike most people.

"I’m on a top-secret mission, sir. But don’t worry, it won’t affect our world in any way," said Long Yi.

Everyone in the room was a military bigwig and had seen it all. However, Long Yi’s attitude certainly confused them. Their understanding of the world did not account for a man who could destroy a vault with one punch or a maid who could float in the air. Both were completely beyond their comprehension. And now, Long Yi was saying it wouldn’t affect their world. Could he be an alien? But why would an alien take a human form and refer to their leader as ’the commanding officer’? (to be continued.
