Chapter 383: Chapter 281: Blind Date?

Summer vacation was gradually coming to an end, with only three more days till school starts. Despite all, Long Yi managed to make his vacation worthwhile by revealing his plans to go to the Plane of Crazy Demons to Kirei. Kirei’s first reaction was that Long Yi had gone mad. Still, trusting Long Yi, he thoroughly investigated the related matters, finally concluding that Long Yi indeed had gone mad.

However, if they could solve the issue with the Crystal Poison vaccine, the battle against the monsters would merely be a test of pure strength.

Perhaps the Dragon Knight would not necessarily be outmatched.

Of course, this was something for the Emperor to ponder over. As for Long Yi, he suddenly found some downtime. Moreover, Long Yi and Ai Lin found an excellent sparring partner.

Isrile’s formidable strength naturally made her Long Yi’s opponent. This time, Isrile, who was well-fed and thoroughly rested, finally displayed her inherent power. Facing against Long Yi and Ai Lin, she achieved an utterly crushing victory single-handedly.

Although Long Yi came up with several strategies, they all needed to be backed by substantial power. Unfortunately, the significant gap in their strengths gave Long Yi not one single victory against Isrile. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

However, that did not dishearten Long Yi, for he needed such an opponent to strengthen himself. He kept summarizing the lessons learned, seeking his opponent’s weaknesses. Even though he still wasn’t victorious, there were a few shining moments that Long Yi was quite satisfied with.

Isrile possessed tremendous combat talent. Through continuous bouts with Long Yi, she even mastered all of Long Yi’s fighting techniques. Long Yi did not withhold anything, teaching as she learned, almost defenseless, which touched Isrile greatly.

Unlike what Long Yi imagined, Isrile, who suddenly emerged from underground, did not seem nostalgic about the surface. On the contrary, besides satisfying her appetites, she seemed indifferent to anything else. Occasionally, Long Yi would see a look of loneliness on Isrile’s face. After all, she was essentially the last Dragon Hunting Spider in the world, and even though she’d taken a humanoid form, she isn’t human and thus felt a distance from the human world.

After training, Long Yi would occasionally take Isrile for a stroll in the city. As Long Yi anticipated, Isrile displayed the same fondness as all other girls.

She loved shopping, new clothes, shiny jewelry.

But, Isrile never bought clothes. Instead, she made her own.

The title Death Weaver didn’t only signify her ability to create death but also indicated her skill in weaving.

She crafted numerous elegant outfits for herself and some uniforms for Long Yi. Of course, they were all made from spider silk. To Long Yi, the spider silk was always a material, Earthlings were keen on developing back on Earth with minimal progress. Hence, when Long Yi held the jacket made of spider silk, he couldn’t help but feel like he was standing at the peak of technology.

It was when Ai Lin whispered something to Isrile, causing her first to blush, then to give a bitter laugh: "That’s impossible, I can’t create a baby Dragon Hunting Spider for him."

Of course, Long Yi didn’t hear this.

With only three more days till school, Long Yi hadn’t appeared at the Dragon Rider’s camp outside the city. Today, he came specifically to pick up Wesley and the other two. It was also the day for the Fifth Legion to withdraw from their station and for the Fourth Legion to take over.

Having not seen them for almost a month and a half, the three men visibly got tanner. Wesley and Mosquito had lost weight, whereas the Chief Cook was even chubbier. That was the trait of the Giant Swallow Dragon- tremendous expenditure would bring about a considerably larger appetite. The Chief Cook’s weight gain indicated that he indeed trained very hard.

"Congratulations on completing your training!" said Long Yi with a grin.

However, the three of them didn’t look at Long Yi but instead focused their attention on Isrile. Despite Isrile’s tall and mighty stature, she wasn’t of the muscular type. Moreover, some parts were unsurprisingly amplified, due to her tall figure, which made the visual impact even more astonishing.

Right now, Isrile wore a robe she made herself. The pure white spider silk reflected subtle rainbow glimmers under the sunlight.

The trio exchanged glances, despair evident in their eyes.

"Brother Long, you keep tormenting us like this. Can we even continue to stay friends?" The Chief Cook wailed, clutching his face.

"Sigh, as expected, ordinary girls already pose no challenge to Brother Long," Mosquito stated mournfully.

"Do you two want to die? She’s my friend!" Long Yi chided, chuckling.

"Exactly, she’s a friend. We didn’t say anything wrong." Wesley sighed and shook his head.

"Tsk, seems like you guys have started to miss Brother Long’s secret special training again." Little Zi teased.

"Hmph, if it were a month ago, we might have been scared. But we’re not the same as before!" Wesley hollered. "Brothers, charge!"

With that, he rushed forward, aiming a punch at Long Yi.

Smack!

His fist was caught firmly in Long Yi’s hand.

At this moment, the Chief Cook and Mosquito were both staring up into the sky.

"Hey, big bro, look, a crow just flew by," said Mosquito.

"Yeah, pure white, really gorgeous," the chef said.

"Damn! You two betrayed me again?" Wesley almost wanted to cry in despair.

"Alright, enough messing around, let’s focus on the task at hand," Long Yi released Wesley’s hand.

Upon hearing the word ’task,’ everyone suddenly stopped teasing each other, their faces gradually becoming serious.

The so-called task.

It was the chef’s matter.

Apparently, the chef and Mosquito’s families had arranged a marriage meeting for the chef today. The girl is the daughter of a vice-captain of the Fourth Legion, four years older than the chef and also serves as the team leader of a five-person team in the Fourth Legion, who is also a Dragon Mage.

It was said that this girl was quite arrogant, not very well-liked among the troops. But her father was a vice-captain, so no one dared to criticize her. Besides, her own strength was also impressive; ordinary people were not her match, thus forming her disdainful character.

The Chef’s family was a typical military family, though they held high positions in the army, they were part of the ground troops. Given the long-established contempt of the Dragon Knight regiments for ordinary ground forces, both parties were naturally not on the same level.

The promotion of this marriage meeting was naturally due to the Chef and Mosquito’s performance since they entered the Dragon Knight Academy.

The brothers couldn’t exactly be described as extremely talented, but they were certainly gifted in some aspects. Particularly in combat, where they stood out. Since their admission into the Dragon Knight Academy, they had jumped up grades consecutively within a short period of a year. That kind of progress was enough to draw attention. Then, in the subsequent Seven Nation Grand Competition, the Chef and Mosquito held off the opponent’s powerful mutant Dragon Knight, and successfully took him down (Wesley’s credit was automatically overlooked). Later, the Chef and Mosquito stood firmly on Prince Kirei’s side during the Empire’s internal strife, successfully exonerated Prince Kirei, and decisively suppressed the insurgents with their own strength.

All these series of performances were enough for everyone to make a judgment on the Chef and Mosquito brothers.

Excellent!

There were many ways for nobles to maintain their status, and marriage alliance was naturally one of them. If both parties were inclined towards each other, it could even become a wonderful story. If they didn’t see eye to eye, at least they could foster feelings over time.

However, the chef felt quite repulsed by this arrangement. He was rather resistant to this marriage meeting, but he didn’t dare to defy his family’s arrangement, so he had to go through with this marriage meeting.

"I just hope the girl can see me as a fat guy and sincerely give me a few disdainful looks," the chef said haplessly.

"Maybe she has a particular fondness for fat guys," Wesley laughed.

"Gross, you’d better not scare me," the chef shivered and said, pouting his lips.

The place for the meeting was one of the top restaurants in Imperial City, named Holy Light Glory. It was an imperial property, the owner naturally being the Emperor himself. With such a prestigious title, the grandeur of the facilities and the exquisite level of the food were naturally extraordinary, the cost for a meal was astonishing, sometimes even exceeding that of the Elf Restaurant.

The Chef, Mosquito, and Wesley arrived first, ordered some drinks, and sat down to chat while waiting. Long Yi initially wanted to join the fun, but later thought that having himself, Ai Lin, and Isrile there would be too overwhelming, therefore, he simply waited in a Red Dragon Empire barbecue restaurant next to Holy Light Glory.

Before long, the protagonist of the legend made her entrance.

The girl’s name was Zhu Na, she was petite, round-faced, not bad-looking, but the way she always held her chin high made Long Yi a bit uncomfortable. Accompanying her were a man and a woman. They seemed to be Dragon Knights too. The three of them seemed to be discussing something while walking, the man and woman trying their best to entertain Zhu Na, but Zhu Na was all serious, without the slightest hint of laughter, presumably in a bad mood.

"I guess, this is not looking good," Long Yi began.

"I think so too," Ai Lin nodded in agreement.

Zhu Na and the others quickly found their seats on the second floor. Seeing them arrive, Wesley quickly signaled, and the chef and Mosquito immediately stood up and helped the ladies pull out their chairs.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," Zhu Na said, no smile on her face.

"No, we just got here," the Chef replied.

With everyone seated, the Chef asked, "What would you like to order?"

"Not necessary, I came to tell you that I’m not interested in you, I don’t like fat guys," Zhu Na said, staring at the Chef.

"That’s great," the chef finally smiled, sighing in relief, "I was worried about whether you would have a particular taste, but since you don’t like fat guys, that’s absolutely perfect. Let’s stay here amicably for a while and then go back."

Wesley and Mosquito rushed to congratulate the Chef for his lucky escape. The Chef’s excitement was palpable, but the expressions of the three on the other side didn’t look so good.

"What’s the meaning of this?" Zhu Na frowned and asked. (To be continued. If you like this work, please go to qidian.com to vote for recommendation or month ticket, your support is my biggest motivation. Mobile users please go to m.qidian.com to read.)
