Chapter 361: Chapter 260: Dragon Blood Siblings
"Group Leader! We refuse to accept this!"
"Exactly! Group Leader! We refuse to accept this! Long Yi has four dragon marks and has the aid of a female demon. It was not a fair victory!"
The ten companions, once again, stood up to protest.
Hearing their companions defending them, the ten men bowed their heads even lower in shame. The reason? Long Yi had already informed them at the start that he had the strength of four dragon marks and didn’t need Little Zi’s help at all!
But now, they were unable to protest. The more they spoke, the more they embarrassed themselves. It was best to bow their heads in silence.
"Since you won’t accept, who else wants to challenge me? Come on then."
Long Yi chuckled.
The next thing they knew, twenty of them lay beaten, black and blue, unable to say a word.
"Group Leader! We demand justice for our brothers! Let us five brothers take him on! We guarantee to take him down with our seamless attack!"
Sometime after, five more members stood battered and bruised.
Looking at his soldiers, Luo Ding found the situation quite amusing. Apparently, this Long Yi fellow had an exceptionally strong single combat capability. Cain had already told him about this, and now, it was impossible for them to win with their random, individual attacks.
However, Luo Ding didn’t intend to stop the situation. He thought it might teach these arrogant Dragon Knights a valuable lesson. It would remind them that there is always someone better, a higher sky beyond the one they know. Even though Dragon Knights represent the pinnacle of battle strength in the world, they are not yet beyond being called to account.
However, if Long Yi were to continue in this way, he feared the whole First Legion might be wiped out. Observing the eager expression on the young man’s face, he clearly hadn’t had enough yet. But, if the entire First Legion was swept away, affecting their morale, that would be quite problematic.
Just then, a dragon’s roar echoed from afar and a red ball of fire approached from the distance.
"Backup has arrived, and it’s just in time," Luo Ding laughed.
Long Yi also looked up, watching as the Red Dragon landed from the sky. A man and a woman then jumped down from the dragon’s back.
"Guardian Dragon Knight, Frei has arrived," said the man removing his fiery red helmet to reveal his flaming red hair.
"Guardian Dragon Knight, Freya has arrived," echoed the woman simultaneously, removing her helmet to unveil similar spiraling red hair.
From their features, they appeared to be fraternal twins.
But why did the names, Frei and Freya, sound so familiar?
Long Yi glanced at Ai Lin.
"The Twin Dragon Knights!" Ai Lin quickly reminded.
Long Yi finally understood.
If there were Dual Dragon Knights in this world, naturally there could also be twin knights with dragons.
It’s often said the souls of twins are split from a single entity. Forming a contract with a Mount Dragon naturally involves the soul, hence, theoretically, twin knights can exist.
However, every year, from millions of citizens in an empire, perhaps only a few hundred qualify for the Dragon Knight Academy – one in a million is not an overestimate. And among these hundreds, how many are twins?
So, these siblings were somewhat famous.
It should be noted, for a knight, the dragon’s power for the Dragon Knight is nearly unlimited. Even maintaining two individuals is easy. Furthermore, two individuals training together obviously progresses much faster than one.
Owing to their partnership as Twin Knights, they had both been accepted into the Guardian Dragon Tower when they were merely sixteen. Now they were both twenty and possessed six dragon marks each. They had already become the main force among the Guardian Dragon Knights.
"Backup, you’re finally here. We’ve been badly bullied by this Long Yi. We need your help!"
Group Leader Luo Ding immediately started lamenting dramatically, looking like a bullied old man. He had completely lost the demeanor of a Group Leader.
Seeing Luo Ding’s silliness, Frei chuckled, "Since Group Leader Luo Ding requests it, we, as siblings, must help. In fact, we’ve been wanting to meet this legendary undefeated brother, Long Yi!"
Long Yi turned to face Frei. The siblings clearly inherited excellent family bloodlines as they both had handsome, soft features. Frei’s face was marked with a small scar which slightly reduced his boyish good looks. Freya, on the other hand, was petite and delicate; her pair of fire-red eyes sparked like a dancing flame.
"So, Brother Long Yi, we’re looking forward to learning from you," Frei said to Long Yi.
"The pleasure is all mine. Please make sure to give it your all," Long Yi replied with a hearty laugh.
"As expected, you’re full of confidence. Let’s start with the basic combat techniques then," Frei said.
"Sure," Long Yi was indifferent; whether they began with basics or not.
"I was wondering if we could ask Miss Ai Lin to join the battle as well?" Freya suddenly asked.
"Why?" Long Yi responded.
"Because that would make it fair," Freya replied.
"Don’t worry." Long Yi laughed, "I’m always the one bullying others."
"Brother Long... I want to try it out too," Ai Lin seemed eager to try it.
"Sure, if you want to join, then we’ll do it. It’s not a big deal. After all, whether it’s just me or both of us, we’ll still be the bullies. It’s all the same." Long Yi seemed very relaxed, even though his words were rather arrogant.
"Hehe, just to let you know in advance, Brother Long Yi. My sister and I share a complete spiritual connection, we can share sight, hearing, touch, even intuition. When we both attack as a team, even a Guardian Dragon Rider with eight Dragon Marks couldn’t defeat us." Frei said, quite open-minded, telling Long Yi in advance.
"Actually, I also want to inform you, not only did I chop a Black Dragon Empire’s Guardian Dragon Rider, also known as the eight Dragon Marks, Yake Black, into small pieces, I also killed an old fellow called Dasaide solely through luck. Therefore, you better be a little careful." Long Yi said.
"Yes, we are fully aware of that, so this time, we are fully prepared!"
They both burst forth at the same time,
One on the left and one on the right, striking at their targets simultaneously!
The same movements, the same techniques! Though they didn’t have the reinforcement of the Fighting Aura, they still had speed and strength!
Okay! When a professional makes a move, you’d know if they’ve got it! Just by one move, Long Yi determined that they were definitely not those kids who bully others with the help of Fighting Aura!
Bang Bang!
Four fists collided, Long Yi and Ai Lin both opted for the hard clash style, with their posture completely identical!
Although Ai Lin’s fists were small, as a half-dragon, her physique was naturally much stronger than a human’s. As for Long Yi, his massive fists had been hardened through unforgiving bouts with others. Who would he need to fear in a fistfight?
After a simple test, both Frei and Freya made judgments about their respective opponents.
They were difficult to deal with.
Because the siblings’ attack style was very nimble, their attack power was inherently not high, but they won by being able to avoid giving their opponent any opening. But their initial test of strength clash was countered directly by their opponents, leaving both their fists tingling with pain, which made them even more cautious.
"Once more!"
The siblings attacked simultaneously, their fists and legs flowing like water. As they have mentioned, even though they were attacking as two individuals, they moved as if they were one, with no openings or flaws in their attacks.
Compared to them, Long Yi and Ai Lin’s partnership wasn’t as flawless. After all, they didn’t have the spiritual connection ability, but they managed with the tacit understanding built upon constant training together. They still had their rhythm. Furthermore, by leveraging on Long Yi’s innate brute strength, they occasionally managed to create more openings!
The surrounding dragon riders from the first legion of the Red Dragon Empire were left dumbfounded. They had never seen such an astonishing fight. Usually, some people aiming to become dragon riders would undergo hand-to-hand combat training. But once they mount a dragon, almost everyone abandons hand-to-hand combat training because the weapon of greatest importance to a dragon rider is the Dragon-slaying Sword. For most dragon riders, being proficient in using the Dragon-slaying Sword was already commendable.
After all, if they lost their Dragon-slaying Sword during a battle, they would immediately retreat. Without a dragon, a dragon rider is as good as dead, what’s the point of hand-to-hand combat training?
However, these four were different.
Hand-to-hand combat had become an art in their hands!
Even though they weren’t using any Fighting Aura, the fierceness of their attacks still left no doubt about their destructive power. Everyone was wondering, if they were faced with these attacks, would they be able to withstand them?
Perhaps they could resist them with the protective Fighting Aura, but they definitely couldn’t block them. And if the opponents added Fighting Aura into their attacks, could they still withstand them?
No way!
Upon realizing this, everyone understood that they hadn’t lost to Long Yi at all. Some might have felt that they had a slight chance against Long Yi before, but now, they knew it was impossible.
They were not even on the same league as Long Yi and his allies!
It was Long Yi’s first time encountering opponents who were so proficient in hand-to-hand combat! He was even somewhat excited! All along, Long Yi had been virtually invincible in this world due to his brute strength and combat skills, because everyone didn’t take hand-to-hand combat that seriously. But the siblings didn’t take this lightly. While their combat skills might not be perfect, they put their spiritual connection to full use, compensating for their lack of skills with their uncanny teamwork! It was simply awesome!
Long Yi finally met opponents who were worthy of his full attention!
On the other hand, the siblings Frei and Freya were also very excited. Because over the years, no one had managed to last this long under their beautifully coordinated attacks. Even the Guardian Dragon Rider of the Eight Dragon Marks could only hold off their attacks for a minute without the assistance of Fighting Aura before surrendering. However, the pair in front of them, despite their lackluster coordination, always managed to use the most appropriate techniques to resolve crises at critical moments.
What does that show?
It shows that they are true hand-to-hand combat masters! They are true powerhouses!
As powerhouses, they deserved the respect of powerhouses!
Without needing to communicate, the siblings, who shared a similar mindset, shouted simultaneously as their moves suddenly changed!
"Rapid Fists!"
Completely abandoning leg attacks and using their fists at maximum speed to inflict damage, their punches came from all directions, like a wall, directly pressing down on Long Yi and his team. At the forefront was Ai Lin!
"Retreat!"
Long Yi yelled out, pulling Ai Lin back while moving forward to face the flurry of punches. Faced with such a rapid attack, Long Yi himself was not used to combat styles that relied on speed, so it was already too late to block all the attacks.
But.
