Chapter 236: Chapter 165: Coward!

At this moment, among the crowd, a panting Wesley sprinted urgently, finally plopping down next to Bajie and sighing heavily.

"The fight has already started? Damn, Brother Long might be at a disadvantage," he anxiously said.

"What’s the matter?" Upon hearing Wesley’s words, Ai Lin became instantly worried. Wesley was adept at gathering intelligence as well as finding others’ weaknesses. If he said Long Yi was at a disadvantage, then it was possible that Long Yi really was.

"The Four Heavenly Kings have a strange talent rumored to have developed from the abuse they suffered at the hands of a stepmother in their childhood. When they’re attacked, their Fighting Aura increases rapidly for a short time. At the same time, they’re able to siphon a little bit of the enemy’s Fighting Aura they come into contact with," Wesley explained.

"What’s so impressive about this skill? What if they can’t control it and get killed?" Mina didn’t find it exceptional.

"That’s why I said, they’re at their strongest when all four brothers fight together!" Wesley took a moment to catch his breath, and then continued, "These brothers are identical down to appearance, personality, voice, and even hobbies. When they fight, they always take turns bearing the damage. They have a special talent that connects the four of them. Unless it’s a lethal injury, any damage one of them receives will be evenly distributed among all four. No matter how severe the damage is, it’s divided into four parts, so the damage each individual takes is not that high. If Brother Long can’t quickly figure this out, he’ll likely soon be worn down by them. There’s no limit to the increase in their Fighting Aura!"

"Isn’t this skill just exploiting the loophole in the academy rules? As long as the sparring match isn’t life-threatening, they can infinitely stack their Fighting Aura, right? If they were on a real battlefield and someone were to strike them with a lethal blow, then what good would this talent do?" Mina complained.

"You can’t exactly say that. After all, they’re still young, and their talent isn’t fully developed yet. It could possibly become stronger in the future. Just like my Observation Technique evolved under Brother Long’s help," Wesley remarked objectively.

"So now, it all depends if Brother Long can identify this problem," said Ai Lin worriedly.

"That’s why I said, smashing their skulls with a punch could save a lot of trouble," chimed in the Golem.

Of course, Long Yi had noticed the problem. Although he hadn’t heard Wesley’s analysis, his combat instincts made him aware of the enemy’s unusual behavior. The Four Heavenly Kings didn’t seem to be particularly sturdy, but Long Yi’s attacks never inflicted as much damage as he expected. It unsettled him.

Moreover, as the fight went back and forth, Long Yi discovered that the strength of his opponents was gradually increasing while the damage inflicted by his attacks was becoming more limited.

Now, Long Yi faced two choices.

The first was to unleash all his power and kill the enemy instantly.

The second was to patiently look for an opportunity to discover his opponents’ weakness.

The former was the most straightforward and brutal. Given Long Yi’s current power, he believed that few in the entire academy could match him hand-to-hand.

However, this ultimately wasn’t the best solution as one could potentially encounter millions of enemies in battle. It was impossible to rely solely on overpowering strength as a winning strategy.

"You, are you not afraid of fights?" Long Yi suddenly asked.

"You, are you using my Fighting Aura to strengthen yourselves?" Long Yi questioned again.

"At this moment, if I don’t attack anymore, what would you do?" Long Yi asked once more.

"If you don’t attack, you’re done for!" The Four Heavenly Kings lunged at him simultaneously.

Long Yi stared at them, then suddenly struck out with all his might, landing a punch straight on one’s nose.

The punch, combining Long Yi’s greatest brute strength and the power of the nineteenth level of Fighting Aura, was formidable.

The recipient clutched his nose in pain and almost simultaneously, the other three clutched their noses too. Blood gushed from all eight nostrils.

"So that’s how it is."

Long Yi understood then, they had been distributing the damage among four of them all this time.

"But you have your limits!" Looking at the bloodied faces of the four, Long Yi sneered.

The punch defacing all four noses was proof enough that even the damage divided among four people wasn’t without harm.

Now, Long Yi had a solution to this current predicament.

That was, as long as each of his attacks could inflict the damage equivalent to four people, it would be enough!

Unless he utilized all his Fighting Aura, simple punches would be unlikely to achieve this effect. However, Long Yi did not intend to boost his Fighting Aura again. These four were troublesome but weren’t sophisticated opponents. Using a stronger Fighting Aura on them seemed like overkill!

If they had some other tricks up their sleeve, Long Yi may have had to think of other ways to deal with them. But if their only strategy was to divide the damage between them, victory would come too easy!

While the four continued to attack fiercely, Long Yi switched to defensive mode. To outsiders, it seemed like he was stuck in a predicament and couldn’t handle an enemy that grew stronger with every attack.

But still, there were two people who had confidence in Long Yi.

The first was Ai Lin, who had unconditional faith in Long Yi. The second was Wesley. His Observation Technique made him exceptionally perceptive. Despite Long Yi seeming to be on the defensive, in reality, he wasn’t at a disadvantage as his footwork remained steadfast!
