Chapter 198: Chapter 151: Assassinating the Sea Emperor
"Hahaha! Alright, alright! You all have witnessed each other’s power, haven’t you?" The Emperor stepped forward with a smile. As the host, he naturally couldn’t wait for the Sea Emperor to speak.
"I lost." Long Yi and Ruoshan both said almost simultaneously.
"Hahaha, then let’s call it a draw!" said the Emperor.
"Hmm, a draw it is," the Sea Emperor looked at Long Yi, seemingly deep in thought.
"Yes! Your Majesty!"
Long Yi and Ruoshan almost simultaneously addressed their respective emperors.
The battle ceased, and the water element within Ruoshan immediately began to surge. The hand that Long Yi had shattered miraculously regenerated in front of everyone, and his originally broken knee too was restored.
Although Long Yi didn’t have such a shocking recovery, with the power of the Giant Bloodline, the damage to some of his internal organs naturally wasn’t a big issue.
The mermaid Princess Mina watched Long Yi the whole time, her large eyes shimmering with unique brilliance. Especially when she saw Ruoshan admit defeat, her heart couldn’t have been happier. And when she heard Long Yi admit defeat in return, she viewed him as a modest man. In every way, he was extremely pleasing to her eyes!
"Father, he’s amazing, isn’t he?" Mina sidled up to the Sea Emperor, asking excitedly.
"Hehe, he’s not bad." As the Sea Emperor, he naturally couldn’t genuinely consider Long Yi to be that amazing. However, being able to fight this far, he certainly wasn’t bad. What surprised the Sea Emperor was that Long Yi had fought completely on his own without any external assistance. The Sea Emperor had noticed that a cute little female demon was following Long Yi. This demon was definitely in her Complete Form, very powerful. Ice magic naturally has limitations against water magic; if Long Yi had used the demon’s assistance, the fight may have ended with an absolute victory for Long Yi.
Why didn’t you use the female demon to assist you, Long Yi?
The same question also circled in the Emperor’s mind. It would be natural for a servant to assist a Dragon Rider in battle. Even if Long Yi had brought his two dragons into the fight, no one would have minded. Yet, Long Yi had charged forward on his own. It may have been courageous, but certainly not a wise choice.
Noticing his doubts, the Emperor decided to ask.
"Long Yi, why didn’t you use the female demon to assist you in battle?"
As soon as she heard someone mention her, Little Zi immediately emerged from within Long Yi’s body. She really enjoyed hiding within Long Yi, as it was warm and full of strength, making her feel very secure.
"Because this was not a battle," Long Yi said.
"Not a battle?" the Emperor questioned.
"Not a battle!" Long Yi confirmed, "A real battle is a deathmatch with the enemy on the battlefield. My goal is to end the enemy’s life as quickly as possible. Any means are acceptable to achieve this. But just now, my skirmish with the Tiger Whale Warrior was a test of my own skills. If Little Zi were to assist me during such a situation, even though I could easily win, I would lose an accurate assessment of my true strength. When it comes the actual battlefield, the one who would end up suffering would undoubtedly be me."
Long Yi’s words resonated with the Emperor and were pleasing to his ears. He looked back at the five Legion Leaders standing behind him. They too, had eyes full of admiration. This Long Yi was not a simple troublemaker, but a true warrior! Everyone understood the logic of Long Yi’s words, but how many could indeed put it into practice?
Just like during the fight when faced with the Tiger Whale Warrior’s deadly punch, even they, the five Legion Leaders, would have called for reinforcements in order to be safe. But Long Yi had taken the hit full-on!
However, this revealed a weakness of Long Yi’s. He tends to adjust his strategies based on his assessment of his opponent, rather than going full force from the start. Although this can help conserve strength, a misjudgment could lead to serious trouble.
Of course, seeing this, none of them spoke up. After all, Long Yi was only in his third year, and he still had enough time to learn from his mistakes. With Long Yi’s innate warrior spirit, it would be impossible for him to not realize his own issue; he might even be in the process of correcting it.
The Emperor had prepared a medical team well in advance, knowing there would likely be injuries. After a thorough examination, Long Yi was obviously fine. The Tiger Whale Warrior insisted that this little injury was nothing. He had been through far worse during his fight with the Sea Dragon, but still held on. The Sea Clan, who had a strong affinity with the water element, all had powerful regenerative capabilities. As long as their lives weren’t in danger, they could recover from anything. Thus, today’s injuries could only be considered surface wounds.
Long Yi walked over to Ruoshan. The massive Tiger Whale Warrior was lying there, and a Shrimp Doctor was using his pincers to examine Ruoshan’s recovery.
"Big guy, how do you feel on land?" Long Yi asked.
"My body feels heavy, it’s not very agile, and my legs aren’t as useful. Otherwise, you would have definitely lost today." said Ruoshan, who had regrown about a third of the teeth that Long Yi had knocked out of his mouth. Although he admitted defeat verbally, he was certainly not happy about it.
"I believe that, and I admit I am no match for you right now. But well, don’t get too pleased with yourself. Just wait a few more years, I promise I’ll beat you until you beg for mercy," Long Yi retorted.
