Chapter 1714: Chapter 1263: The Imposter Envoy of the Gods?

"Although I knew you were no mere mortal, hearing you speak like this now fills me with a sense of unreality," Bajie said, extending his hand to pat Long Yi on the shoulder—a gesture he had grown very accustomed to back when he was still a chubby little dragon.

"Don’t touch me!" Long Yi shouted suddenly, but it was too late—Bajie had vanished in an instant!

"Bajie! Come back!" Long Yi bellowed, and Bajie reappeared just as suddenly as he’d disappeared, his hand still poised to pat Long Yi.

"Uh, I just experienced a moment of blankness in my thoughts, what happened?" Bajie asked, puzzled.

"You disappeared, just like the Gods of War did earlier," Darkness murmured.

"Hey hey, this isn’t good," Bajie said, staring at Long Yi.

"Now I understand why the past me insisted that I alone should enter the Divine Realm. Indeed, the most dangerous being in the Divine Realm to you folks isn’t the other gods, but me," Long Yi said with a look of apology to Bajie.

"Explain?" Bajie retracted his hand.

"Put simply, the Divine Realm is my creation, as is the Divine Power. Everything here belongs to me, so it’s always enveloped in a strange set of rules that I still can’t control. Any hostile action towards me can lead to disastrous consequences. And as for defining hostility, not even I know," Long Yi said helplessly.

"So that’s how it is," Bajie nodded, thought for a few seconds, then suddenly looked up at Darkness and said, "That means our journey in the Divine Realm comes to an end here, right?"

Darkness nodded as well, evidently confirming this was the case—their trip to the Divine Realm was meant to help Long Yi, but now, he had become the biggest threat. In other words, there was no longer any reason for them to stay.

"I never expected our journey in the Divine Realm to end this way. I thought we would fight all the way to the central part of the Divine Realm and kill that Worm," Bajie said with a tinge of regret.

"Actually, you should feel fortunate that you haven’t made it to the central part of the Divine Realm to meet the Worm," Long Yi said with a smile.

"What, is it so ridiculously powerful?" Bajie asked, confused.

"I don’t know, but as a Worm with the ambition to invade the Heavenly Kingdom, I always feel it must have left something behind for me," Long Yi said, "and I bet that even my status as the only god might not pose any threat to it."

"Are you serious?" Bajie looked into Long Yi’s eyes. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"Very serious," Long Yi replied.

"Understood, let’s go then," Bajie said decisively.

"So, if everything goes well, Brother Long..." Darkness began, then hesitated.

"I’ll come back for you," Long Yi said.

"Then I’ll leave these Divine Statuses with you," Darkness said.

"No need, don’t forget, all these things were invented by me," Long Yi laughed.

"Let’s go, Mars, we’re leaving," Darkness said.

But Mars didn’t respond at all.

"Just take him, the dumbball fainted the moment he saw Long Yi,"

Bajie said.

To leave the Divine Realm, they had to exit through each ring of the passage; the usually talkative Bajie was quiet the entire way.

"What are you thinking about?" Darkness asked.

"I want to curse someone out, but I don’t dare now. I’m afraid I might die unexpectedly here, so I’m trying to think of what to curse about. Then, after leaving the Divine Realm, I’ll curse to my heart’s content," Bajie replied.

Darkness, wordless, could only give a thumbs up in silence.

As the fourth ring’s information flowed in with the Divine Text, Long Yi’s Divine Status soared, and he also received his own journal.

"This is the first time I’ve succeeded in suicide! Being reborn into a family of life that I created myself is truly a marvelous experience! I think I’m going to be very happy!"

"God, I can’t take it! I’ve wanted to solve problems with my omnipotent power several times, but doing so would certainly expose me, yet living like this is just too hard!"

"I secretly used my power to heal my sister and, acting on a whim, I also made her even more beautiful. I think she will soon fulfill her wish and marry into a wealthy family,"

"That bastard! How dare he abuse my sister! I will annihilate you!"

"Their retaliation came. They actually killed my sister and everyone in my family! But it’s okay, I’ll resurrect all of you! I will give you power! I will wipe out everyone who bullied you!"

"’God, is playing pretend-human fun? Omniscient and omnipotent as you are, if you knew everything from the start, why did you watch everything happen?’ This was the first time my sister spoke to me in this tone. She had never spoken like this to me before; she always used to look after me, but this time, I think I let her down, I let myself down."

"It’s time to end it."

"I’m such a failure."

"No, I’m a coward."

Another experiment ended in failure, and living on as a member of this world, I couldn’t help but use my powers eventually, revealing myself and in turn eliciting doubts from my family. This time ’I’ took a step further than the aloof position I held before.
