Chapter 1640: Chapter 1231: Eve of the Final Battle_2
Only three days left, not only to give them a rest, but also to let them spend these days with their families.
At this time, the Celestial Clan Emperor surprisingly announced that the next three days would be a time of revelry in Heaven Realm. All shops will be open to Dragon Knights for free, and all entertainment venues will also welcome Dragon Knights without charge. All expenses incurred by Dragon Knights will be covered by the Emperor, and friends accompanying Dragon Knights will also enjoy free entry.
The repressed Dragon Knights began reveling, having been tense for a long time, they really needed to relax. The entire Heaven Realm unexpectedly fell into a strange frenzy, even though the threat from the Worm was imminent, and everyone knew it, no one spoke about it at the moment. Everyone had only one goal, and that was to revel!
On the first day, Dragon Knights had a wild day and night.
On the second day, Dragon Knights had a crazy day.
By the third day, Dragon Knights were nowhere to be seen. Originally crowded entertainment venues no longer showed any signs of Dragon Knights, as most had chosen to stay home on this last day before the war, saving the final moments for their loved ones.
Long Yi and Elsa walked on the comparatively calm streets, where every household had already stocked adequate supplies to ensure that even if the war lasted long, there would not be too much impact on daily life.
Some people hurried along the roads, hastily saluting upon seeing Long Yi and Elsa, then hurried away. The original war between the Dragon Clan and Giants had swept through the entire universe, bringing inadvertent disasters to ordinary races. And though this war appeared to be an internal conflict within the Dragon Clan, it was essentially a war between two gods.
No one knew what impact this war would bring.
A tense and suppressed atmosphere would change the moment the war began — it could either become relaxed or more severe.
Long Yi and Elsa strolled the streets until evening, the usually bustling Imperial City of the Celestial Clan had its lights turned off early, and although the streets were not too dark to see, they were completely different from the usual nights bright as day.
Neither Long Yi nor Elsa spoke, maybe influenced by the surroundings, or perhaps worried about the war that would start the next day, they just held hands and quietly walked on the street.
Suddenly, a commotion broke out from a pub nearby, followed by two men being thrown out simultaneously. From their attire, one was in plain clothes, while the other was a Dragon Knight. The two grappled with each other, but without any Fighting Aura or Mana, purely fighting with fists. With no defenses, their faces were soon bloodied. Elsa frowned wanting to stop them, but Long Yi held her hand, preventing her from moving.
Elsa did not understand why, but she knew that if Long Yi stopped her from doing something, there must be a reason.
Soon, the fight ended. The civilian stood up first and reached out to help the Dragon Knight, who angrily shrugged him off.
"You bastard, just wait. This isn’t over; if I don’t beat you until you spew shit, I won’t share your surname!" the Dragon Knight cursed.
"I’m waiting for you; you better pray you die on the battlefield, otherwise, when you return, I’ll smash that handsome face of yours!" the other snapped back.
Both men turned their backs on each other and left without looking back. The civilian casually saluted when he passed by Long Yi and Elsa, glanced at them, and quickly continued on.
"He’s crying," Elsa said.
"Yeah, must have been hit in the nose, a natural reaction," Long Yi replied.
Elsa looked up at Long Yi, gave a slight smile, and refrained from commenting.
It was destined to be a sleepless night.
Currently, above the Genesis Artifact, Simu nestled in Wesley’s embrace, enjoying the warmth as the Creator God. The space intermittently resonated with vibrations, caused by the Worm deity’s internal assaults on the Plane. Every few seconds such an assault occurred.
"So, The Forgotten Ones just gave up all their arms?" Wesley asked.
"Yes, I was actually prepared to be scolded. But when those little ones saw me, they cried, and I cried too. In the end, I couldn’t clarify what exactly happened, yet they volunteered that they no longer need war because their god has started watching over them again, and they want to return to their former lives," Simu said, her eyes welling up again.
Wesley carefully wiped away Simu’s tears.
"Don’t cry, you are a Creator God after all."
Simu buried her head deeper into Wesley’s embrace.
"Actually, I can help you regain your youth," Simu said in a low voice.
"I know," Wesley said, "And I was intending to do so myself."
"Oh? When I planned to help you achieve immortality before, weren’t you always opposed to it?" Simu lifted her head and asked in surprise.
"Because back then I was young, foolish, and naively thought that growing old would make me more stable. But now, I’ve realized that the first thing that comes with age is a less agile mind. War is about to start, and I need a nimble and energetic mind to participate. So, I wish to become young again," Wesley explained.
Simu smiled, held Wesley’s hand, and with a slight motion of her Divine Power, Wesley was immediately rejuvenated. For a Creator God, there was nothing simpler than this.
"Is it about time?" Wesley looked into the distance.
"Yes, it’s about time," Simu replied.
"Then, I’ll go get ready."
"Yes, take care."
"See you later, my goddess."
"See you later, my knight."
Early in the morning, all the Dragon Knights gathered. After a brief reorganization, the main force headed to the pre-determined battlefield.
The resurrected Giant Dragons, the Giant Dragons of the Human Realm, the total number of all these dragons did not exceed seventy million.
Long Yi was filled with worry, as he had no idea what would emerge after the opening of the Plane this time. Those conservatively estimated 1.5 billion dragons...
In the future capsule, Long Yi shook his head vigorously; it was just a number, what’s the big deal?
At this moment, Long Yi was sitting in the future capsule transformed into a dragon shape, followed by two thousand Silver Dragons. This fast response team would be the vanguard and clash with the enemy first. Long Yi had to first assess how significant a threat these dragons posed.
Meanwhile, Elsa was leading a team of Dragon Riders, all formed by the New Spectral Ghosts. From the start of their training, these Spectral Ghost girls had their own Giant Dragons, and had begun training. With their strong learning abilities and perfect synergy, their progress could be described as exceptional, even the Dragon Rider instructors from the Human Realm highly praised these girls.
Of course, if it were just that, it would indeed be only plain and unremarkable. In fact, the reason why Elsa trusted these Spectral Ghost girls so much was mainly because their Ghost Power could enhance the combat capabilities of the dragons to a certain extent!
This was nearly impossible for other life forms, but for the Spectral Ghosts, it was possible. Ghost Power could merge with Dragon Power, and like a catalyst, it significantly enhanced the effect of the Dragon Power! Thus, in this upcoming battle, the Spectral Ghosts wouldn’t be idle; they would also serve as vanguards at another anticipated battlefield alongside Elsa.
As the main character of this great battle, the Creator God Simu was placed by Long Yi inside the Genesis Artifact for protection.
Having just completed the Plane’s sealing, the Genesis Artifact needed some time to recharge, but if it was just some simple capabilities, they wouldn’t need too long to recharge before it could be used directly, like the Beam of Life Splitting.
Everything was ready, large counters rose in corners of the universe. This was the Genesis Artifact’s final countdown to the Plane’s sealing.
That number kept decreasing, and as the number reduced, everyone’s heartbeat increased continuously.
Finally, that number faced everyone, returning to zero.
