Chapter 163: Chapter 136: You Can’t Win Anymore
Elsa raised her greatsword, pointing it at Anfa.
In Elsa’s mind, there has never been such a thing as a bullying thought; there are but two kinds of people: friend or for.
"Hehe, I dare not fight with the Guardian Knight. I am not a match. I admit defeat," Anfa said, looking provocatively at Long Yi. The meaning was clear: If you’re a man, don’t hide behind a woman - even if this woman is already incredibly powerful and a match for the rare few in this world.
"Here." Long Yi extended his hand, directly taking the crystal sword from Elsa and pointing at Anfa with the same action.
"We will be the judges!" Alec, who had been silent all this time, found the opportunity to assert himself. He knew too well that Anfa, a sixth-year student, had more than one Dragon Mark’s worth of strength. His dragon has long become a mature dragon. If it weren’t for the fact that he needed to continue studying at the Command College, he would probably have already been promoted to the seventh year. If a real fight were to break out, Long Yi would not stand a chance against him.
The crowd immediately created a circle around them.
"Heh, children have such a strong desire to fight." The Emperor was chatting with several Generals and Group Leaders, seeing that the situation over there was already tense.
"This is a good thing," said Fan Sen, the Commander of the Third Legion.
"Yes, this is a good thing," Kai Long, the Iron Blood General, echoed.
Fan Sen and Kai Long were commanders of the Dragon Knight Legion and the Infantry respectively. Their words basically represented the military’s opinion.
The Emperor nodded in agreement with a smile. Yes, the strength of a nation ultimately depends on whether the nation’s army is strong, and the main measure of an army’s strength is its soldiers. Soldiers filled with a desire to fight would continue to bring victories.
The premise was, they had to obey commands.
"Who do you think will win?" he asked.
"Does that need asking? My grandson will surely win," huffed Iron Hand General Kari, who had been quiet until now, bursting into laughter.
"I think Long Yi will win," said Kai Long.
"Bullshit! What do you old bag of bones know! Are you blind! Can’t you see the strength of my grandson? How can Long Yi win? By bashing my grandson with his mass of tendons and muscles? Hahahaha!" Iron Hand General with his notorious foul temper, he wouldn’t allow anyone to bad-mouth his grandson.
"I am well aware of your grandson’s strength, but are you aware of Long Yi’s strength?" asked Kai Long, undaunted by Kari’s insults.
"He’s all brawn and no brain! Just by looking at his stupid muscles, you can tell he’s got no strength! He enters the room with your granddaughter on his arm, and even has a little maid trailing behind him. He was even hoodwinking the Guardian Dragon Knight! Who the hell does this pretty-boy belong to?" Kari barraged Long Yi without holding back. Every present knew of Kari’s temperament, so they all just laughed it off.
The five Dragon Knight Legion Commanders didn’t say a word. What had happened was a clear internal conflict within the Infantry, and it wouldn’t be appropriate for the Dragon Knight Legion to intervene.
"Iron Claw, Guardian Dragon Knight Elsa and Long Yi have been childhood friends, they grew up together," Kai Long mentioned.
"So what? Can’t my grandson compete?" Kari complained with a tone of petulance.
"He can, but it’s not appropriate," replied Kai Long.
"Not appropriate? I’m going to slaughter that rotten Long Yi now, let’s see if it’s appropriate or not!" Kari had completely lost his reason by now.
"Iron Claw, on the opening day of school, you should have been on the scene. Do you think that if you slaughtered Long Yi, how many of us here, including you, me, and His Majesty the Emperor, would be able to survive?" Kai Long looked apologetically at the Emperor. This matter could be considered as a disgrace to the Imperial family. However, the Emperor just smiled and nodded, signaling him to continue.
"..."
Kari fell silent. He was a general, and it wasn’t by being a hooligan that he had been able to secure his position. In truth, being a hooligan was just his façade. He wouldn’t actually slaughter Long Yi, he just liked to reveal the essence of things in this manner.
And the essence now was, if Long Yi was killed by Kari, the only ones who might survive, excluding those who manage to escape, would be just a few.
The reason was simple.
Elsa.
Elsa could indeed be considered a once in hundreds, possibly thousands of years’ genius. Normal children wouldn’t understand. But how could these old hands not be aware of Elsa’s fighting abilities? The girl who even while daydreaming, never ceased to improve. Even the leader of the Guardian Dragon Rider squadron might not dare claim he can beat her!
On the opening day of school, when Long Yi had a dispute with the third prince, Elsa’s fleeting murderous intent enveloped the entire viewing stand. The people present were seasoned veterans, yet even they were alarmed by the intensity of that bloodlust.
It was a stark, unabashed threat!
Given Elsa’s current strength, if she truly went berserk, who among them could stand against her, except the Guardian Dragon Knight?
The White Dragon, being a dragon of the empire, wouldn’t harm the people of the empire. But Elsa was a human!
"There’s another thing I want to mention, my granddaughter is already wholeheartedly devoted to Long Yi. She is a genius, a Magic Fighter, a mage killer. Before the mission to exterminate the female demon began, she was only at the eleventh level of mana, but after the mission, she had reached the fifteenth level. And then there’s my grandson, Ais. He’s very fond of his little sister, and I don’t know what he might do for her." Kai Long paused, then continued. "Next, about the little maid you referred to. Her name is Little Zi, she is a female demon, and from my observations, she is a fully evolved female demon."
