Chapter 1614: Chapter 1220: The Huge Numerical Disparity

Then Black Dragon Elder Slite and White Dragon Elder Ashton also walked in.

"You’re all alright?" Long Yi asked.

"We’re fine; even if there are injuries, they’re just minor ones. Thanks to the timely arrival of the great Creator God, we were all saved!" At this moment, both Slite and Ashton were both excited and nervous. With the legendary Creator God right before their eyes, how could they not be tense!

"This time, there’s no loss at all, truly a stroke of luck, thanks to you!" Long Yi stood up and said to Simu.

"Ah, the root cause of this matter is my own problem, yet it has implicated the world I created. It’s not a stroke of luck because of me; the issue was originally my responsibility." Simu sighed, his face filled with regret.

"As a Creator God, I must say, that’s quite a humble stance you’re taking." Long Yi said with a smile.

"Think about it, I created all of you without your consent. And as your Creator God, not only did I fail to fulfill my responsibility to take care of you, but I also dumped a tremendous trouble that belonged to me onto you. If it weren’t for me, there wouldn’t be the Worm Nest, there wouldn’t be the Worm ascending to godhood, there wouldn’t be the worm invasion of this universe, there wouldn’t be the estrangement between the Dragon Clan and the Giants, there wouldn’t be my own division, and there wouldn’t be this whole series of troubles now. So ultimately, it is all my problem," Simu said.

"Listening to you, it seems I find no reason to refute, but it reminds me of something someone once advised me with, ’If a created life is dissatisfied, it can simply commit suicide immediately, to give up the life it finds displeasing, instead of complaining to its creator. You can’t both want to keep this life and complain about your creator, can you?’" Long Yi said with a laugh.

Simu was stunned for a moment, then a strange smile appeared on his face: "That’s twisted logic."

Long Yi replied with an unconcerned expression: "Whether it’s twisted logic or not doesn’t matter, the key is that it makes sense. And if this reasoning doesn’t convince you, I have another more practical reason—the lives of this entire universe all need you to pull yourself together now, they need you to momentarily forget all troubles, because an unprecedented threat is here, and we don’t know when it will break out from here and what will happen when it does."

"One hundred days, the Closed Loop Space will only bind it for a mere one hundred days. In these hundred days, we must find a way to defeat it," Simu said.

"You’ve said you’re no match for it," Long Yi stated.

"Not at all, if I were in the Divine Realm now, perhaps I could fight it. But now, I’ve lost the Divine Authority; even if I return to the Divine Realm, I would be an outsider there, and I don’t even know what would happen. Besides, without the Divine Authority, I have no clue how to return to the Divine Realm," Simu said.

"Actually, I know how," Elsa said.

"If you’re talking about that gate to the Divine Realm near the fake Heavenly Kingdom’s descent, I can’t use that thing. Once through that door, I’d enter the outer layer of the Divine Realm, a savage Divine Plane, and my Divine Power wouldn’t even match a common Wild God there. Unless I could directly return to the center of the Divine Realm, it’d be tough for me to recover my former power," Simu said.

"Alright then." Elsa hadn’t spoken to Simu about this matter, but obviously, Simu was already aware of that place’s existence.

"If the seal is broken, will the Worm directly rush out from that plane to attack the higher planes?" Long Yi’s greatest concern was this.

"Most likely not unless there’s an accident. The Worm projection will try its best to stay away from the place of its descent, known as the Descent Point. Only near the Descent Point can its power be replenished, and the farther it is from the Descent Point, the more its Divine Power will involuntarily deplete. Once it leaves that plane, due to the distance from the Descent Point, we could fight it together. But it will try to avoid this situation because once too far from the Descent Point, it might be eaten by the Giant Serpent first," Simu said.

"Is this perhaps a blessing in disguise?" Long Yi reluctantly said; if possible, he really didn’t want the Giant Serpent to stay there.

"That’s why I told you then, not to worry about the Giant Serpent, its presence there isn’t necessarily a bad thing. After all, the Giant Serpent was born before my very eyes, and the Worms witnessed its birth," Simu said.

"The Giant Serpent, is it really a God Eater? Was it prepared by the Giants to devour gods?" Long Yi suddenly remembered this matter.

"No, the Giant Serpent should actually be called the Exterminator. The Giants discovered the secret of the Worms; they created the Giant Serpent in an attempt to erase the Worms parasitizing my consciousness, but I found out, and the Worms were terrified, they influenced me and hid themselves. Then, there was the most severe mistake I’ve made since my birth."

"Brotherly civil war." Without Simu needing to say it, Long Yi knew what had happened.

The civil war between the Giants and the Dragon Clan could be called the most tragic war in Simu’s universe. Although most living beings today don’t know what actually happened at the time, with the two strongest races of the Plane — one having left and one having their power sealed and cursed — everyone knows there was no winner in this battle.
