Chapter 1540: Chapter 186 Not Here?_2

Judging from the tone of their conversation, there seemed to be other stories involved.

"It seems that you haven’t been completely parasitized? Based on my experience, once infested by worms, it’s difficult for you to retain your independent consciousness," Long Yi inquired.

"That happened shortly after you left, when Master Elma of the Ancient Mage Tower found us. He told us about a life form known as the Divine Worm that could parasitize a person’s consciousness. To protect our own thoughts from being infested, the Ancient Mage Tower specially developed a conscious separation device. Normally there would be no problems, but once the consciousness was controlled by the worms, we could still retain our original consciousness hidden deep within their control. Although we couldn’t do much, we were able to monitor every single move they made," said Saint Jialin.

"Heh, it seems my pupil hasn’t suffered in vain," Long Yi said with a chuckle.

"Just as Master Elma had said, one day, suddenly, everyone around us was parasitized by worms, but my consciousness remained clear. That’s why I know everything they have done this past year," Saint Jialin said.

"Me too! I know too!" Saint Danze stood up and spoke quickly.

"Well then, you must also know what I want. Tell me," Long Yi said.

"The Ancient Mage Tower should no longer be in the Lower Plane by now," said Saint Jialin.

"Where did it go?" Long Yi asked eagerly.

"The Middle Plane," replied Saint Danze. "Back then, Master Elma said the Ancient Mage Tower was originally a Giant spaceship, and as he was also a student of the Giants, it was only natural for him to follow in the Giants’ footsteps. Therefore, they would try everything possible to enter the Middle Plane. They had already mastered the reverse summoning magic, and the Ancient Mage Tower itself was equipped with teleportation technology. With these technologies, entering the Middle Plane shouldn’t have been a problem."

"I see," nodded Long Yi, indicating he understood.

"So, have you returned this time especially for the matter of the Worm’s Nest?" Saint Jialin asked.

"Yes, that’s exactly why I’m here. This could potentially concern the safety of the entire universe created by the gods," Long Yi said.

"Then, please go and tend to your business. You need not worry about the things here," Saint Danze said.

"Right, I will be leaving now. By the way, it seems like you two get along quite well, so why are you always fighting?" Long Yi asked with a smile.

"Get along well? Who? Me? Him? Ha! That’s a joke!" both Emperors said almost simultaneously.

"Indeed, you get along splendidly," laughed Long Yi.

Leaving the fleet, Long Yi didn’t continue the search but returned to the Great Explorer. Here, he waited until the signal transmission feedback was complete, and the results were the same as he had surmised—futile.

The Ancient Mage Tower was indeed no longer in the Lower Plane.

To confirm the truth of this matter, Long Yi activated the Great Explorer’s active radar. The active radar searched much faster than the passive radar, and soon, all the signals were returned. Sure enough, the Ancient Mage Tower was no longer in the Lower Plane.

Therefore, there was no point in staying in the Lower Plane any longer. Long Yi wasn’t sure if there were worms left in the Lower Plane, and even if there were, he didn’t have a way to deal with them. He certainly couldn’t continue to wait here for the worms to show up on their own.

Thus, Long Yi immediately activated the Teleportation Gate inscribed on his person. It was deep into the night in the Heaven Realm, with duty soldiers drowsy at their posts. The sudden magical alarm from the Teleportation Gate woke everyone; they immediately realized that Long Yi had activated the mark and quickly started the Array that had been on stand-by in a charged state.

In the quiet expanse of space, an energy burst forth, followed by a golden gate opening thunderously amidst the energy.

"I’ve seen this scene before," Long Yi said with a smile.

Elsa had returned to the Heaven Realm through such a gate before.

Long Yi accelerated towards the gate and then re-entered the Heaven Realm.

"Please prepare, I need to go to the Middle Plane," Long Yi instructed.

"This requires Princess Selena’s authorization. We don’t have the authority to open the Teleportation Gate ourselves," several warriors exchanged glances. It was late at night, and disturbing the Princess’s rest would be a very bad move.

"It’s fine; get ready, she’ll be here soon," Long Yi said.

The warriors didn’t understand, but judging by Long Yi’s attitude, it seemed that his relationship with Princess Selena was out of the ordinary, so they began preparations immediately. As expected, Princess Selena arrived in a hurry, accompanied by Nim.

"What’s the result?" Selena asked.

"Strange things have happened," Long Yi said. "Apparently, a voice awoke all the Worms in the Lower Plane to seek their nest. However, the nest is no longer in the Lower Plane, it has moved to the Middle Plane. I was lucky, I killed what was said to be all the Worms on the Lower Plane as they were gathered together discussing the search for the nest."

"So, you are preparing to go to the Middle Plane?" Selena, watching the busy warriors, asked.

"Yes, I need to make a trip to the Middle Plane," Long Yi said.

"Alright, but I must remind you that consecutive plane transportation may lead to symptoms of space-time dizziness, including dizziness and nausea, among other side effects. In severe cases, it could cause temporary loss of consciousness, so be careful," Selena said.

"Don’t worry, it’s all minor," Long Yi said with a smile.

The transportation proceeded again, and this time Long Yi did not choose a fixed location, letting the Teleportation Gate perform a random transport. It turned out Selena was right; Long Yi was dizzy and felt nauseous for several minutes before he recovered. It seemed that the symptoms of space-time dizziness were not based on the traveler’s own strength.

After recovering, Long Yi immediately summoned the great explorer spaceship and the large passive radar. First, he confirmed his position on the star map, then, turning on the radar, he searched the Plane, and then Long Yi set out for the Azure Sky Empire through Teleportation Magic.

He had a feeling that the Azure Sky Empire was likely, just like the Lower Plane’s Divine Auffa Empire, to have been infested by Worms.

Though he had long since had this premonition, he was still shocked when he actually saw it.

Can you imagine the Imperial Palace being half-infested by Worms?

Yes, now Long Yi saw it.

Throughout the Azure Sky Empire’s Imperial Palace, Worm vibrations echoed everywhere, as they busily exchanged information. Based on that information, even more Worms had already dispersed into every corner of the Plane, searching for the Ancient Mage Tower.

With things having reached this point, Long Yi couldn’t help but suspect something—why was someone always one step ahead of him? Who exactly had awakened these Worms?

Long Yi had already begun to sense that something was amiss.

Afterward, Long Yi started making visits. Not just in the Azure Sky Empire, but several of the well-known major empires across this Plane were also severely plagued by Worm infestations. These Worms were unusually non-aggressive towards one another and relentlessly searched for the nest throughout the Plane.

Long Yi thought about it carefully. An existence that could awaken all Worms across multiple Planes and command them—could it be the Worm God?

Surely, Simu had concluded that it was the Worm God who had sent an Avatar, the Divine Worm, to infest his consciousness, turning him mad, and it was only through self-splitting that the situation was resolved. Now, if there was any being that could unite all Worms in such a short time, it could only be that Worm God.

But the problem remained unsolved. Even if it really was that Worm God’s doing, how did it manage to be one step ahead of Long Yi each time?

Furthermore, Long Yi noticed something. When he entered the Lower Plane, according to the memories of most people, several years had passed in the Lower Plane. But from Long Yi’s perspective, it hadn’t even been a year. This was likely due to the asynchronous timelines between Planes.

However, Long Yi was still unclear on how exactly this asynchronicity manifested macroscopically.

Well, that’s not the point. The real question is how to solve the current troubles.

The passive radar signals had been completely received, and the final result was that the Ancient Mage Tower was still not here.

This was fishy.
