Chapter 1459: Chapter 1155 Anti-War Faction_3
"Oh? Improved energy alloy? I must take a close look at this," the Emperor said with a smile. Not just the Emperor himself, but among the entire race of The Forgotten Ones, who wouldn’t be interested in improved energy alloy?
Twenty warriors from both the seventh and eighth military camps came onto the field, and for the first time, the whole Arena fell silent. Everyone knew that two undefeated warriors had emerged from the eighth military camp and had been held in very high esteem by their peers. If they could be defeated here, in front of the Emperor, it would be a tremendous achievement!
That’s why nearly every warrior from the seventh camp was fully energized. As the star warriors of the seventh camp, the brothers Gu Fei and Gu Bo were especially eager to get started.
As blood brothers, their cooperation was seamless, and their personal strength was impeccable. In their view, they had the power to dominate this internal military competition. Given their current strength, they felt they long deserved a higher status. The only reason they were still low-ranking was simply due to the prolonged absence of war. Now that the Emperor was present, they were determined to perform at their best, hoping to possibly join the Imperial Guard, which would truly bring honor to their ancestors.
The opponents stood on either side, and the referee announced the start of the match, but neither side made the first move.
"So, last time it was you, and now it’s your turn again, isn’t it?" Long Yi suddenly said.
"Yeah, you go this time," Elsa said.
"Okay, you all wait here, I’ll win quickly and be right back," Long Yi said and then actually walked forward alone!
Several warriors hurried to follow, but were stopped by Elsa.
"Didn’t you hear? He’s going on his own," Elsa said.
"But there are ten of them," one warrior said nervously.
"Just ten people," Elsa said dismissively, "Although I think he might find winning a bit harder, it’s not as sure as if I went myself. But since he insists, let’s give him the chance to show off."
Show off?
The warriors of the seventh camp were furious, especially the brothers Gu Fei and Gu Bo. A team battle with ten against ten, and they’re sending just one person for the sake of showing off? What do they take us for!?
"Brothers! I’m going up alone! You all watch!" Gu Fei shouted.
"Okay, big brother!" Gu Bo responded.
"This is a team battle! What are you doing!" the Group Leader suddenly burst out.
"I know, but my opponents are too weak. It’s just a waste of time for all of us to go. I alone am enough," Long Yi earnestly replied with Henki’s voice.
"Seventh camp, since he thinks you are too weak, then you all go together! Ten of you against one, consider it a privilege!" the Group Leader roared.
Hearing the Group Leader say this, Gu Fei burst into laughter. Since they had the Group Leader’s endorsement, who could refuse such a privilege?
Not just Gu Fei, all the warriors of the seventh camp laughed out loud, eager to prove themselves and also for the privilege granted by the Group Leader’s acknowledgment.
And so, with the consent of the Group Leader, a one versus ten scenario ensued.
The Emperor, noticing the huge disparity in numbers, turned back to Anzong with a smile and said, "My Anzong Group Leader, although I understand you want to showcase Henki’s spirit, I really don’t fancy his chances in this lopsided match. If he loses, it will be embarrassing for you."
Anzong, however, just smiled and shook his head, "Whether I lose face is not important, the key thing is that Henki is a truly unique talent. If he loses, it might be good for him to be a bit more restrained, wouldn’t it?"
"Good point."
The Alloy Greatsword was drawn from his personal space, and some warriors from the eighth camp noticed that the Alloy Greatsword in Henki’s hands seemed longer and wider than before. At first, some warriors thought it was an illusion, but after a careful comparison, they realized that the Greatsword had indeed grown larger.
"Come on then, all of you together," Long Yi said.
"Did you hear that? He’s telling us to all go at once!" Gu Fei shouted.
"If that’s the case, brothers, don’t hold back! Charge!" Gu Bo shouted at the same time.
This time, Gu Fei and Gu Bo didn’t move, but the other eight charged forward instead. Their intent was clear; the person named Henki was tricky, especially since the Alloy Greatsword he wielded had some tricks to it. If they weren’t careful and got injured here, it would be embarrassing. So, they let the other eight warriors attack, though Henki was tricky, he surely couldn’t handle eight opponents. This way, once Long Yi failed, the rest of the seventh camp would surely not accept it and join the fray, at which point Gu Fei and Gu Bo could join forces to deal with a warrior named Aisa.
Yes, everything was going according to plan.
Except...
"Ah!"
A scream rang out as one warrior’s energy sword instantly shattered, and his body was bisected at the waist. Fortunately, he curled up his legs in his cockpit at the critical moment, otherwise the strike would have cost him his legs!
It happened so fast!
Gu Fei couldn’t believe it.
Then another scream followed, this warrior’s energy sword also shattered instantly, but the huge Alloy Greatsword slashed diagonally from one shoulder to the underarm on the other side. It was also the result of him ducking at the critical moment! His upper body was flung into the air, revealing half of a panicked white head inside.
Two down!
Two had fallen in the blink of an eye!
But it wasn’t over yet! Long Yi, wielding the Alloy Greatsword, didn’t choose his opponents. He charged at whoever was closest, completely forsaking defense and using the length of his Greatsword to slash in almost a suicidal manner. Yet, the warriors knew their energy swords were limited in power and unlikely to inflict fatal injuries in a single strike, whereas Long Yi’s Alloy Greatsword could strike through an opponent in one stroke! The previous two warriors were indeed lucky, and Henki’s wide-open fighting style wasn’t precise enough, allowing them to evade the vital points. But on the battlefield, you couldn’t rely on luck every time. If they couldn’t dodge Long Yi’s Greatsword, and were struck from the chest by this massive metal sword, wouldn’t they become the first accidental fatality in this internal military competition?
Almost everyone thought so, and then no one wanted to continue challenging death. (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
