Chapter 1457: Chapter 1155: The Anti-War Faction

Upper Plane.

On the main star of The Forgotten Ones, the intra-group major contest was about to begin, and the atmosphere in the entire camp had changed, with the ten selected warriors all undergoing training with intense nervousness. Among them were Long Yi and Elsa, who, as Henki and Aisa, had already become notable figures in the camp. Since arriving in the army from the recruit camp, they had continuously won various victories and stood at the pinnacle of the entire camp, a feat unprecedented.

When Group Leader Anzong inspected this place, many warriors were surrounding Aisa for advice, yet no one stood beside Henki. This confused Anzong; after all, he too stood there undefeated, were these people still isolating him?

However, it was only after he asked the camp leader that he understood that it wasn’t about isolating Henki, but rather that Henki’s way of fighting was too unique, making it impossible for other warriors to seek his guidance.

Firstly, Henki did not use energy swords. Since most of the warriors here used energy swords, this made it impossible for Henki to share his combat experience with his teammates.

Furthermore, once Henki’s metal greatsword came into contact with an opponent’s energy sword or alloy armor, it would immediately cause the destruction of the energy sword or the alloy armor, a trait that could not be replicated.

Thus, everyone could only choose to ask Aisa for advice. After all, Aisa was not strong in some particular areas, but rather her staggering basic skills.

Group Leader Anzong couldn’t help but laugh silently; this was indeed interesting.

Anzong stayed here for a while, watching Aisa fight. This time, she even faced four opponents simultaneously, yet, dual-wielding energy swords, she still responded with ease, every move precise and without any panic. If it wasn’t clearly stated on her record, Anzong would not have believed she had come from the recruit camp.

On the other hand, Henki still exuded the air of the recruit camp. Although he was also earnestly training, because he was using a metal greatsword, the maneuvers written for energy swords seemed awkward when he performed them. Every action was wide-open and disconnected. Yet with the weapon’s advantage and his astonishing learning ability, Anzong was curious how far this child could go. Whether the La Sang Family’s bet on his rise was worthwhile.

After inspecting the camp, Anzong left the military encampment. This was the last camp he visited today, and due to the upcoming major intra-group contest, the training atmosphere in every camp was very intense, which pleased him.

At this time, his aide approached.

"Group Leader, the Emperor’s itinerary has been delivered," the aide said.

"What’s the plan?" Anzong inquired.

"Unlike usual, His Majesty will arrive at the Arena early to watch the contest and will leave only after it ends," the aide replied.

"It’s a bit longer, but no matter. Recently, those followers of the Prophet have not been causing too much trouble, just reinforce the defense," Anzong stated.

"Yes, I have already tripled our defenses, it should be fine," said the aide.

"Good. His Majesty taking this matter so seriously shows, I think, that he has decided on deploying troops," Anzong suddenly remarked.

The aide looked around, assured that everyone nearby was Anzong’s trusted people, then nodded and said, "News from the Imperial Palace has come. Not only has the Emperor made up his mind, but he has even persuaded several emperors from other planets. Now, just one meeting to pass the resolution and I think, the order to conquer the entire Plane will arrive soon."

Anzong sighed and said, "Our race’s creation was not glorious, and because of this, we despise those other races created by the gods. But that doesn’t mean we must enslave or even destroy other races through war. We are much more powerful than they are, they can barely offer us any useful resources, so why should we waste time conquering the Plane?"

Hearing this, the aide became tense.

"Group Leader Sir, please be careful with such statements right now. The brothers naturally will not betray you, but if someone with ill-intentions overhears it, there could be trouble," the aide said quietly, nervously.

"I know, what the Emperor dislikes most now is the anti-war faction. But initially, we supported the Emperor to overthrow the Prophet because he was part of the anti-war faction," Group Leader Anzong shook his head helplessly, not speaking further.

The aide, however, nervously looked around, not just the aide, but those followers around the Group Leader were also nervously watching their surroundings, for fear someone might overhear.

But, what they didn’t know was that all this had already reached Long Yi’s ears, since he had cast a listening magic on every key figure. Of course, this was thanks to the Crystal Poison energy armor they used. Long Yi had made some very tiny bugs using Crystal Poison, these bugs harboring listening magic inside. When these bugs came into contact with the energy armor, they immediately melted and fused with the armor. Long Yi chose to fuse them at the top of the armor because The Forgotten regarded the chest as the critical spot, while the head of the armor was merely functional and less guarded.
