Chapter 1405: Chapter 1137: Catch One!
In this multiverse, all the avatars of the Divine Worm are similar. Long Yi’s gluttonous snake had devoured tens of thousands of Divine Worms, and Long Yi couldn’t possibly understand the structure of these worm avatars any better. Moreover, with Long Er, who was the divine decree itself, present, Long Yi decided to create a new master for these avatars of the Divine Worms!
Once there was a plan, the real power of descending to the Heavenly Kingdom manifested. It would enumerate the conditions needed to fulfill this idea, and all Long Yi had to do was to meet each one of them.
Firstly, Long Yi needed to understand why these worm avatars were so loyally devoted to their original forms. Although these worms were avatars, each avatar was an independent entity; without any constraints, it was naturally impossible for them to be loyal to a person or an object.
Thus, after Long Yi returned to the Azure Sky Empire, the first thing he did was to enter the laboratory and find those dragons that had been captured during the war.
These dragons were left with only their heads, controlled by magic in a nutrient solution.
"Did you find a way?" Through a contract, sensing Long Yi’s return, Ai Lin and Little Zi almost immediately appeared in the laboratory.
"Where is Suolin?" Long Yi asked, having many questions for Suolin after seeing his past self.
"I don’t know," Ai Lin shook her head.
"She left, suddenly said her time was up, and then just left," said Little Zi.
"Always the same style, come as she pleases and leaves as she wishes," Ruosha, who was walking over, said.
"Are you envious?" Isrile said from behind Ruosha.
Ruosha pursed her lips and said nothing, but her eyes definitely didn’t show any interest.
"So, what exactly is the method?" Simu was the last to appear.
"I am going to establish a new faith for these worms, or rather, I want them to shift their allegiance," Long Yi smiled as he spoke.
"Is that possible?" The group of girls expressed their confusion.
"It should be," Long Yi said.
"Why do you sound so uncertain?" Little Zi asked, puzzled.
"After all, this knowledge comes from the Heavenly Kingdom of the Descended, and I myself have never tried it," Long Yi said.
"Huh?" The group of girls looked at Long Yi in surprise.
Long Yi made preparations while narrating to them the events of the past few days. However, Long Yi omitted quite a bit of content, especially those that might discomfort Simu. Sensing the gaps in Long Yi’s narrative, Simu’s eyes filled with gratitude. She remembered clearly the madness she underwent, which was why she didn’t want Long Yi to go there. Now that Long Yi kept the secret, it at least made her feel slightly better.
"But don’t worry, this experiment is at least logically sound. Now all we need is to have them believe in a new god, right, Goddess Simu?" Long Yi smiled and asked Simu.
What Long Yi meant was to have these dragons believe in the gods they originally worshipped, and the result would certainly be very good. However, Simu shook her head and said, "No, I think this universe already has too many gods. I am inexplicably filled with revulsion at becoming a god again; perhaps I will understand why once I retrieve all my memories, but for now, I don’t want anyone else to continue worshipping me."
Long Yi just smiled, not delving deeper, no matter if Simu truly did not want to become a god again or whether it was for some other reason.
"Alright then, Goddess Little Zi, let’s prepare," Long Yi said.
"Alright! I’ll do it!" Little Zi was always unbridled.
Long Yi needed to first understand why these worm avatars were so compliant to Simu. The relationship between Little Zi and her Female Demon avatars was exceptional. Although the souls of the Female Demon avatars came from different Female Demons, the consciousness was all Little Zi’s own. It was just that Little Zi allowed these consciousnesses autonomy, so essentially, these Female Demon avatars were Little Zi herself. But these worm avatars were different; they were more like copies.
The Divine Worm was a pure consciousness entity, and their existence required a host. They could attach to a Divine Soul or parasitize any creature’s consciousness. Without a host, they would immediately dissipate. Thus, the false god in the higher Plane necessarily had to also replicate part of a Divine Soul when creating these avatars.
But could Divine Souls be created?
Simu personally confirmed—it was possible. After all, these were only shards of Divine Souls, and fundamentally, there was no difference from any form of energy. So, when the consciousness of the worm integrated with that of the Dragon Clan, where did those Divine Souls go? Were they discarded?
No, that couldn’t be, even if they were just fragments, they were still Divine Souls. The only place Divine Souls could go was to merge with the Dragon Souls.
Not long before, using Little Zi’s ability, Long Yi found it easy to locate those Divine Soul shards within the Dragon Souls. Divine Worms could completely merge with the dragon’s consciousness owing to their racial traits. However, the Divine Soul shards could not fully merge with the Dragon Souls. Little Zi easily detached these shards.
Never underestimate these Divine Soul shards, for they might present a viable way to reach that false god. That false god replicated Divine Soul shards and worms only by using itself as a reference, so these shards surely carried some traits of that false god. Moreover, since they were copies, it could almost be determined that all infiltrating members of the Dragon Clan shared these traits.
