Chapter 1346: Chapter 1091: Strange Life
"Master Elsa!" The surrounding Ghost Spirits reverted to the image of little girls, each one filled with immense joy. As the one who had granted them new life, Elsa’s level of respect in Ghost Spirits Town was unparalleled, akin to the dependence children have on their mother.
"Has anything untoward happened while I was away?" Elsa immediately started moving towards the highest building in the center of Ghost Spirits Town, which was the City Lord Mansion and also where she resided.
"Everything has been normal in Ghost Spirits Town during this period, and our income has increased. Our catering business has been rapidly expanding, and the Okaman have not interrupted their supply to us. However, some have apparently heard that our secret ingredients come from the Okaman, so they have been making private contacts with them. But the elders of the Okaman have remained firm and rejected them. In other matters, the Celestial Clan’s Emperor has once again disappeared recently, and the First Prince Sajia is nowhere to be seen either, leaving Princess Selena in charge of the Celestial Clan’s affairs again."
Elsa didn’t pay much mind to the first parts, as they were mostly within her expectations, but the simultaneous disappearance of the Emperor and First Prince Sajia did raise her alarm, as there must be an unusual reason for their disappearance at such a time.
"Where is Nim!" Elsa shouted, and from afar, she saw a red light rapidly approaching, then suddenly disappear, followed by Nim, with Light Wings, who suddenly appeared in front of her, his breath still heavy.
"Princess, I am here! I have arrived!" said Nim, panting while speaking.
"Speak." Elsa asked abruptly, but Nim already knew what she was inquiring about.
"The Emperor and First Prince Sajia’s sudden disappearance, regarding this matter, I’ve conducted a thorough investigation... You know our intelligence capability is quite strong, and then I found out they went to this place."
As he spoke, Nim presented Elsa with a star map, where a particular location was twinkling.
"Here? What’s special about this place?" Elsa didn’t recall anything noteworthy concerning this location.
"That’s the strange thing about it, there isn’t anything special here. In fact, until a short while ago, there wasn’t even a planet here. Moreover, if you look at the planet a bit more closely—"
Nim cast a magic spell and displayed some images that were not very clear, yet they showed structures on the planet covered in metallic buildings and embedded with huge crystal structures.
Crystals?
Is this the work of Crystal Demons?
No, that can’t be. Crystal Demons would prefer to turn all structures into crystals; clearly, these metallic buildings were not their style. And in Elsa’s memory, no species had such architectural styles.
"I need to see for myself," Elsa said.
"Isn’t that... dangerous?" Nim said.
"I didn’t ask you to go."
"As the guard of Your Highness, I must always accompany and protect you—"
"Stop! Your little bit of strength would be better kept here; I don’t want you slowing me down," Elsa said without mercy.
Nim wanted to cry but had no tears; his current strength was definitely high-ranking in the entire Plane, yet in Elsa’s eyes, he was viewed as a hindrance.
Just then, another Ghost Spirit girl sprinted from afar and abruptly stopped in front of Elsa: "Master! We have just received news that your father and elder brother have just appeared at the Imperial Palace, and not just them, they’ve brought a troop with them."
The Ghost Spirit girl displayed a new image; hovering above the Celestial Clan’s Imperial Palace was a large military ship made of metal and crystal, with energy runes circling around it. Although no troops were visible, no one would doubt the military ship’s power, and even Elsa could not comprehend the origin of those energy runes.
"Interesting, it seems my father is indeed very determined to kill me," Elsa said.
"So what do we do now?" Nim said.
"Since he hasn’t come yet, I’m still going to check out that planet. At least before the real battle starts, I need to understand what exactly my enemy is up to."
Although she had just returned from the Eternal Battlefield, because it was not through deploying her full power to open the Teleportation Gate, Elsa’s energy was still abundant. She immediately transformed herself into a state of pure energy, tearing through space and disappearing.
Nim pursed his lips, powerless to prevent it, he could only obediently watch her leave. At the same time, he spoke to the surrounding Ghost Spirit girls: "Keep a close watch on the movements at the Celestial Clan’s Imperial City, and also elevate the defense level of Ghost Spirits Town by one, to prevent the enemy from taking advantage of any weakness."
Although Nim was merely a guard, he served many functions by Elsa’s side, and Elsa always had a variety of tasks for him to perform at any time, forcing him to become a jack-of-all-trades. Of course, Nim was a person with a flexible mind to begin with, and he quickly adapted to his role, handling everything in an orderly manner. Thus, the newly born Ghost Spirit girls were also willing to follow his commands.
In the form of pure energy, Elsa found using energy as simple as breathing, for she herself was energy, granting her unbelievable speed in long-distance travel across the universe. Before long, she arrived at the designated star sector. However, no planet from the star charts was found at that location.
Elsa arrived in the vicinity and could sense energy remnants in the universe, the aftermath of a teleportation spell!
It was a teleportation spell, not a plane teleportation spell, which meant that the planet had teleported rather than plane-teleported; it should still be here.
Elsa did not revert from her energy state but carefully sensed the universe’s residual waves in this form. With the universe so tranquil and with so few disturbances, even long after a spell was cast, Elsa could still track the trajectory of the spell with relative accuracy.
’You’re here!’
Elsa once again tore through space and disappeared from the spot.
When Elsa reappeared, she almost immediately felt a massive energy entity nearby, but it had concealed itself. The entity was hidden from observation by the naked eye and from magical detection. However, as a pure energy being, Elsa could see the shining luster of the hiding spell itself.
Elsa cautiously approached the planet, adjusting the fluctuations of her magic so as not to alert anyone, and entered into the planet unseen. Indeed, just as the previous images showed, this was a planet built of machinery and crystal, and undoubtedly, these crystals were made of Crystal Poison. The gigantic crystals embedded in the machinery were not for decoration, nor were they consumables, but served a certain function; obviously, this was a species capable of utilizing Crystal Poison.
Elsa immediately thought of Long Yi, who had once dealt with such a life form. At that time, that life form was named Observer by the Giants; it was a life form that even the Giants found difficult to contend with. Their species had also been threatened by Crystal Poison, but in the end, they found a way to control it. Thus, they spread the Crystal Poison and patiently waited for it to spread before reaping the benefits. At that time, Long Yi and a Giant transformed into a Crystal Demon experienced a fierce battle before defeating the enemy, who was merely an unarmed scout. And now, such a vast planet had appeared here!
Could it be, that species was preparing for a full-scale assault?
Elsa carefully flew through the city made of machinery and crystal. Then she realized the city could not actually be considered a city; the structures resembling buildings were merely mechanical devices. Below, there were no roads, only thick pipes.
However, the Emperor had managed to assemble an army.
This army couldn’t have appeared out of thin air, which meant something was definitely hidden below!
As a pure energy being, Elsa saw many energy-rich areas within the city. She carefully avoided these places and found a spot devoid of any energy response. She then cut through the metallic defenses and entered directly into the planet’s interior.
This planet was almost entirely made of metal. Some of the metal was extremely sturdy, and Elsa found it difficult to cut through it while controlling her energy. Other metals were of moderate strength, which Elsa could pass through directly without cutting.
Finally, Elsa passed through the last layer of machinery and arrived inside the planet.
The first thing she saw was a red sun, which was likely the core of the planet, surrounded by densely packed buildings.
Then, a white life form about half the size of an ordinary human was curiously looking at her. With a gigantic head and a single eye occupying most of its face, the white being wore gray clothes made of soft fabric, and its limbs were frail as it stood there, hunchbacked.
"Hello, I have a few questions for you. If you promise not to scream, I assure you I won’t harm you, okay?" Elsa tried to appear as harmless as possible.
But in the next moment, the white being suddenly raised its hand, which had been tucked in its sleeve. A device was attached to its wrist, small and studded with dense crystals. As the being raised its wrist, the crystals lit up and a beam of light passed through Elsa’s pure energy form and hit the metallic wall behind her.
Nothing happened.
But Elsa was enraged.
Being made of energy, she could easily sense what would happen to a materialized body if hit by that energy beam—it would crystallize in an instant!
"It seems communication is not going too well! Or should I say, not friendly enough?" Elsa thought carefully.
"Oh, although my form might be more in line with the aesthetic taste of most intelligent life in this plane, it’s clear that this being’s taste is completely different."
As she spoke, a gray Light Wing had already wrapped up the being, and the device on its wrist fell off.
