Chapter 1319: Chapter 1066: Lingering Ghost

At this moment, the leader of the Exoskeleton Clan swordsmen was less than three meters in front of Little Ai. With the leader’s strength, a single turn and slash would spell the end for her! What to do now? Little Ai was so scared her whole body was shaking like a sieve. Little did she know that the commander of the Exoskeleton Clan swordsmen was trying to kill her. But he dared not, for from the previous clashing strike, he could clearly feel that Elsa’s swordsmanship was not inferior to his own! Especially at the moment when their blades collided, the astonishing control and precision she demonstrated were indeed at a master’s level! Facing such an enemy, any slight distraction could lead to disastrous consequences!

This was the first time he had felt such immense pressure in swordsmanship!

Yes, he had seen many powerhouses in his life, but there were really not many who could match him so closely in the way of the sword!

But was it just a fluke or are you truly that strong? It’s time to test what you’re made of!

Almost simultaneously, a red and a white streak of light collided once again. This time, they did not stop but kept clashing against one another, their lights not only soaring into the sky but also plummeting back to the ground!

This time, Elsa returned to Little Ai’s side, while the commander of the Exoskeleton Clan swordsmen stood at a further distance, gasping for breath.

Full-force high-speed dueling used to be his forte. Even the strongest of powerhouses would reveal a flaw under his barrage of fierce attacks and be eventually defeated and killed by him. But this young girl in front of him showed almost no openings! And even on the rare occasions she did, her quick reflexes and precision made up for them!

This way, there was simply no chance of winning!

What to do!?

The commander of the Exoskeleton Clan swordsmen asked himself. As he watched Elsa, whose breathing had slightly deepened, he made up his mind with a firmness in his heart.

"Evil Thousand Soul Slash!"

The commander of the Exoskeleton Clan swordsmen bellowed, his entire Fighting Aura suddenly vanished, but the crimson longsword in his hand emitted a terrifying roar. Screams rose from the blade, causing some nearby warriors to feel dizziness upon hearing them!

This was his most powerful strike, and also his last, concentrating all his Fighting Aura to the extreme and channeling it into the blade, unleashing a devastatingly powerful blow. If even such an attack couldn’t kill the enemy, it meant that he truly had no regrets if he died.

Elsa watched from a distance the change overtaking her opponent, aware that he was preparing a desperate move.

But the problem was, I don’t seem to have any skill with a fancy name.

If the Exoskeleton Clan swordsman knew Elsa was still thinking about this, he would undoubtedly be angered enough to cough up three liters of blood. But he had no mood to think so much at that moment; initially, he was the one injecting the Fighting Aura, but later the Blood Blade began absorbing it on its own, and there was no stopping!

In his life, the swordsman commander had used this skill twice, and this was the third time. The previous two times, he turned defeat into victory with this move at the very last moment, and this time, he believed it would be no exception.

At that moment, Elsa’s eyes suddenly lit up.

I’ve thought of a name!

"Thousand Wings Slash!"

Whoom!

Thousands of Light Wings unfurled from Elsa’s back and then shattered into a swarm of sparkling stars, which then converged upon the Light Blade in Elsa’s hand. The light of the blade grew increasingly bright, with continuous rumbling of energy emanating from it—and the roar actually began to overpower the screams from the Blood Blade!

The leader of the Exoskeleton Clan swordsman felt a chill in his heart; did his opponent also have a skill similar to his own? Little did he know that Elsa had created it on the spot after seeing his skill!

No matter what, the rise of two such potent energies in the middle of the battlefield sent shivers down the spines of the warriors from both the red and blue sides.

"Fall back immediately! Don’t get caught in it!" The commanders of both the red and blue armies issued orders almost at the same time. Being caught in such a high-level fight would surely lead to certain death!

In the blink of an eye, the swordsman commander’s energy reached its peak!

"Slash!"

A crimson light, accompanied by the wails of countless ghost spirits and a pervasive scent of blood rushed towards Elsa.

On Elsa’s side, the dazzling light shone like a star, repelling the blood-red light high into the air!

The energies from both sides collided, sending shockwaves rippling outwards, instantly shredding any Exoskeleton Clan swordsmen who were not able to evade in time. Warriors from the red and blue sides who couldn’t withdraw fast enough also met the same fate.

After a long while, the colliding energies finally dissipated.

Little Ai was shocked to find herself still alive! Almost as if her body had been an outline, the ground at her feet remained intact. But all around her, the earth had been horrifically churned up by the terrible energy!

The Exoskeleton Clan swordsmen and their long swords had disappeared without a trace. Far in the distance, a blood-colored long sword was plunged into the ground, a severed hand gripping the hilt, but the owner of the hand was nowhere to be seen.

At this moment, Elsa was slowly walking toward the blood blade. There were almost no marks on her body, which made it clear that she had the absolute upper hand in this clash!

Elsa glanced down at the Blood Blade, then looked back at Little Ai and said, "This is yours now."

Struggling to his feet, Little Ai found his legs numb. Still, he limped desperately toward the Blood Blade. On this eternal battlefield, where dead bodies were commonplace, it was rare to see any divine weapons left behind. But this Blood Blade was certainly a fine weapon!

Throwing the severed hand aside, Little Ai joyfully gripped the hilt of the sword. But in an instant, his eyes turned blood-red!

"Buzz!"

Little Ai transformed into a red light and stabbed straight at Elsa’s back! Because everything happened so fast, none of the onlookers had time to react!

Crack!

Accompanied by a teeth-grinding metallic friction, the Blood Blade, wrapped in Fighting Aura, was seized in Elsa’s hand with a single grab—the part she held was the blunt side of the blade!

"I was wondering why that strike felt too powerful and too smooth—it seems there’s something fishy going on here after all," Elsa said with a sudden laugh.

"Since you so wish to avenge your master, then follow it to the end," she said, and with a forceful twist of her hands, there was a clang, and the Blood Blade snapped in two in Elsa’s bare hands!

Countless evil spirits poured out from the broken Blood Blade. These spirits devoured each other in the air, until ultimately, one vastly more powerful spirit swallowed all the others.

And that evil spirit took the shape of the Exoskeleton Clan swordsman leader!

"Unwilling to leave even after death; this phrase fits you all too well," Elsa said, shaking her head.

"Hahaha, I thought it was only a legend; I didn’t expect it to be true! I indeed can attain immortality this way! Now, I am a being of pure energy! You can do nothing to me now!" The Exoskeleton Clan swordsman radiated with abundant energy, laughing uncontrollably.

"Since I’ve already verified my sword technique on you, I think it’s unnecessary to waste any more time on you," Elsa said. As she lifted her hand, a terrifying gravitational force emerged. The leader of the Exoskeleton Clan swordsman immediately sensed an overwhelming suction force. He tried to flee, but as a being of pure energy, he could only be drawn by this fearsome gravitational force into the palm of Elsa’s hand.

Then, Elsa clenched her fist, and a dazzling light emanated through the gaps of her knuckles. By the time she opened her hand again, all trace was gone.

"It’s unfortunate for you that I am particularly adept at dealing with pure energy beings," Elsa said.

Those Ghost Spirits were pure energy beings, devouring all the power and souls of the Celestial Clan. Back then, Elsa had absorbed the power of countless Ghost Spirits and even received their core energy from the spirits themselves. There were few professionals like Elsa when it came to dealing with pure energy beings.

Little Ai, holding half of the broken sword in his hand, woke up without any knowledge of what had transpired. After he had grabbed the hilt, he felt darkness envelop him, and then came this moment.

"Princess Elsa, may I ask, what just..." Little Ai asked quietly, fearful that he might have done something wrong.

"It’s nothing," Elsa replied, not bothering to explain.

On the battlefield, every member of the red and blue forces was dumbfounded.

The absolute dominance displayed by Elsa made everyone realize they were at a loss for how to proceed.

To overwhelm her with numbers? It seemed futile. But if it came to single combat, who could possibly be her match?

"Retreat. We concede this Heavenly Kingdom," the red army Commander decisively concluded, and this decision relieved the frontline soldiers. Nothing was more unbearable than being sent to certain death. Facing Elsa gave them exactly such a premonition.

Seeing the red army retreat, the blue army leader also issued an order to retreat without delay, deciding to give up the battle for the Heavenly Kingdom. It would be foolish not to see the situation clearly at this point.

Consequently, in a rare occurrence on the eternal battlefield, even as the gates of the Heavenly Kingdom were preparing to open, the battle ceased in advance.

Meanwhile, the Dark Saintess watched from her mecha, thinking that Elsa was, unquestionably, Long Yi’s girlfriend—her personality almost completely mirrored his. That air of self-assured arrogance was absolutely awe-inspiring! After this battle, she decided it was time to find Elsa and exchange information, and to figure out how to leave this wretched place. After all, they were Golems, meant to fight for the Giants; bullying around here was rather dull.

With the combat at a standstill, Elsa could now wait for the Heavenly Kingdom’s gates to open in peace. But then, something strange happened. The gates of the Heavenly Kingdom flickered in place and then vanished!

This change left everyone present somewhat bewildered; it was an unprecedented event! Ever since people had known about ascending to the Heavenly Kingdom, there had never been an instance where its gates failed to open; sometimes, they even opened multiple times. Yet this time, they disappeared without a trace—was it because the battle had been halted prematurely?

Elsa’s brow furrowed slightly as she slowly said, "Heavenly Kingdom that I seek to ascend to, are you challenging me?" (To be continued.
