Chapter 1268: Chapter 1016: First-generation Apostle

But in fact, Isrile and Ruosha had no time to respond to him at the moment. Currently, their status among the Apostles was clearly at two extremes. Some Apostles liked them very much, seeing them as the key to awakening the Star Devourers, and were utterly obedient to them, showering them with affection. On the other hand, another group disliked them intensely, viewing them as a thorn in their eye. Each day they engaged with these two groups, honing their acting skills to an astonishing level of proficiency.

And now, the two of them were patiently waiting for the summons of the First-generation Apostle.

The so-called First-generation Apostles were the first seven people who had awakened the Star Devourers. They had come here, awakened the Star Devourers, and in return, received immense power and immortality from them. They gathered together solely for the purpose of fully awakening the Star Devourers. To the people of this planet, these seven individuals were the true rulers. Normally they wouldn’t bother with mundane affairs, leaving everything to the regular Apostles. But once they issued an order, everyone would execute it unconditionally.

Isrile and Ruosha realized that this time they might truly come into contact with the real face of this planet. However, they also worried that if the seven First-generation Apostles indeed had some sinister abilities that could see through their disguise, what then?

To ensure that didn’t happen, both Isrile and Ruosha had been training their mental strength all this time. In terms of pure strength, whether physical condition or energy intensity, Isrile and Ruosha were confident in facing anyone. But when it came to mental strength, that was a different story.

Therefore, it was good to undergo certain training in preparation for facing an unknown enemy.

During this time, Ruosha and the two cores of the Star Devourers had actually developed a good friendship. Ruosha, who had mastered the use of Kela Particles, seemed like an even more intelligent member of their kind to the Star Devourers. Those two cores were almost always hovering around Ruosha, and besides not being able to stick out their tongues, they were hardly different from puppies.

It was just a pity that these two small cores couldn’t provide much knowledge. They weren’t as helpful to Ruosha as the two damaged cores she had repaired in the Balance Church. Inside those damaged cores were magic formulas, all for controlling Kela Particles. But when it came to these two small cores, they knew very little about the magic of Kela Particles.

It felt like dealing with two infants who hadn’t been born for long.

"Do Star Devourers reproduce offspring?" Ruosha suddenly asked Isrile while training her mind.

"Don’t talk, focus," Isrile said.

"Training while talking is a bigger test for you," Ruosha said.

"Alright, I think maybe they can, after all, we don’t know what kind of lifeforms the Star Devourers are. Perhaps they can reproduce offspring in some way that is completely beyond our understanding," Isrile said.

"Makes sense," Ruosha nodded and then fell silent.

"Is that the only question you wanted to ask?" Isrile asked with puzzlement.

"Yeah," Ruosha said.

"My little sister, can we not be so weirdly cryptic? Normally when you ask something like this, it’s bound to be followed by some advanced questions," Isrile spoke faster.

"Nothing at all. Those advanced questions you definitely wouldn’t know either, I’ll figure them out myself," Ruosha said.

"Wahhh! You’re driving me crazy!" Isrile was burning with anger, yet she took no further action because she was still in the midst of training.

"Tch, I thought I could interrupt you!" Ruosha said, pouting.

"I knew you were up to no good, little girl. Lucky for me, I remained vigilant!" Isrile said with a proud smile.

"Anyway, we’ve delayed too much this time. Brother Long’s battle in the Lower Plane should be coming to an end soon. We need to hurry up and complete our mission," Ruosha said.

"Don’t worry, no matter how mysterious those seven guys are, I’ll make sure they spit out all their secrets to me!" Isrile declared, clenching her fist.

As a Dragon Hunting Spider, slaughter was her hobby; playing at secret infiltration like now was not her preferred pace. Fortunately, they did not need to wait any longer.

The summons of the First-generation Apostle finally arrived, and the old Apostle returned to the two girls’ residence with orders. Then, with the envious gazes of other Apostles upon them, the two ladies who were prepared for everything followed the old Apostle to the depths underground. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

They first arrived at the area of the baptism ceremony, where the giant Star Devourer core that used to float in the air had now disappeared, and a small floating platform was present ahead. The old Apostle led the two women onto the platform, which immediately moved forward at high speed. The movement was so abrupt, with no gradual acceleration effect, yet none of the three on the platform felt any inertia.

But Ruosha experienced the function of the Kela Particles.

The old Apostle kept watching the two girls out of the corner of his eye, baffled as to why the girls didn’t show any surprise at the unusual circumstances. Normally, if there is no surprise, it either means the girls are too foolish, or they are accustomed to it.

Are they foolish?

Clearly not.

Could it mean they are accustomed to it? But these are Kela Particles that only First-generation Apostles could use! They are a gift from the Star Devourers!

The old Apostle was intrigued but dared not voice his questions. After all, they were gradually approaching the First-generation Apostle, and this was a most sacred place.

The floating platform moved exceedingly fast, and it was also extremely smooth and silent; there was not even the sound of wind or vibration around. However, Ruosha could also feel that the Kela Particles were solidifying the air around them, making it impossible for vibration to enter, hence the absence of sound.

Before long, the scenery ahead suddenly changed, transforming into pitch black. Far away in this dark world, there was a glimmer of light. The platform flew towards the light, and as they approached, the light grew larger, eventually revealing itself to be a piece of floating land!

The land featured mountains and rivers, forests and meadows, various birds and beasts. Atop one mountain, there was a smooth, mirror-like platform. Sitting in a circle on this platform were seven people. They were very young, wearing simple and modest clothes, their eyes closed, with Kela Particles swirling around them.

The platform moved closer, landing silently. The old Apostle led Isrile and Ruosha to the seven individuals. Despite the ground being smooth as a mirror, one didn’t slip while walking on it. Ruosha quietly tugged at Isrile’s sleeve.

"Sister, sister," Ruosha said.

"What’s the matter?" the diligent sister asked, turning around.

"Luckily we wore floor-length robes today, otherwise we would have definitely flashed someone," Ruosha remarked.

The old Apostle nearly tripped over, this little girl, coming to such a solemn and sacred place, and is that really the first thing she says?

The old Apostle cleared his throat with a light cough to signal the two of them to be quiet. Then he stepped forward, bowed deeply, and said, "In accordance with the will of the Seven Great First-Generation Apostles, I have brought Lily and Sasa here."

Isrile and Ruosha were quietly watching those so-called First-Generation Apostles, who looked incredibly young, excessively so. But this did align somewhat with the rumors of their immortality. All seven were sitting with their eyes closed, breathing steady. The arrival of the old Apostle did not disturb any of them.

"You may leave now."

A voice carried over.

The old Apostle immediately turned around with genuine trepidation and left quickly, ascending the platform and disappearing in the blink of an eye.

Only Isrile and Ruosha remained, along with the Seven Great First-Generation Apostles.

Silence ensued, no one spoke, but psychic energy swept around them restlessly.

"Hey, hey, even if you are the so-called Seven Apostles, it’s quite rude to scan people with psychic energy like that," Isrile said.

"Hehehe, interesting little one," that voice came again, but the seven figures remained still.

"Hey, do you all really enjoy talking to people with your eyes closed? Show a bit of basic courtesy, please? Being older doesn’t give you a free pass to be rude," Isrile argued with justification.

"Alright, alright, we surrender. You little one, just as he said, truly not at a disadvantage," as soon as the words were out, all seven of them opened their eyes and stood up.

"We haven’t moved for decades, but we suppose we can make an exception for you today," the Seven Great First-Generation Apostles said in unison.

"Do all of you always speak to others together?" Isrile was still unsatisfied.

"To ensure the perfect application of our knowledge, our spirits have completely fused into one, without distinction. So, it’s an unavoidable situation," the Seven Great First-Generation Apostles explained.

"That’s really awkward, can’t you select just one of you to speak?"

Immediately, six of them sat back down, leaving only one to walk over.

"Then, it shall be me," the one who approached looked remarkably young, not even past his twenties, and still had a touch of youthful naivety. It seemed that before becoming an Apostle, he must have been a young master from a wealthy family. Deep within the shadows of his collar, a tattoo was visible, resembling a flower.

"What should I call you?" Isrile inquired.

"We have all forsaken our own names, but out of all the Apostles, I rank as the sixth, so you may call me the Sixth Apostle..."

"Okay, I’ll just call you Little Six," Isrile unilaterally decided on a name for him.

The Sixth Apostle’s face showed a hint of displeasure, but it was fleeting. He quickly regained his smile and said, "Indeed, a name is but an external thing, you may call me Little Six."

"So, Little Six, what is it you’ve called us sisters here to chat about?" Isrile asked.

"Can you sisters communicate with the core of the Star Devourers?" the Sixth Apostle inquired.

"It wouldn’t be proper to say ’communicate,’ since we don’t really understand what they are trying to convey," Ruosha responded.

"However, it seems that you two have quite a good relationship with them," the Sixth Apostle noted.

At that moment, two small Star Devourer cores were closely following Ruosha, and she could sense a slight bit of fear within them, which was unusual.

"Could this be called a meeting of minds? I can guess whatever they want to do, and I also enjoy playing with them," Ruosha said.

"So, have they ever expressed any emotions to you? For instance, anger, fear?" the Sixth Apostle continued to inquire.

"Yes, once when I was being bullied by other Apostles, one ’ball’ came rushing over to protect me. I guess it must have been really angry at that time!" Ruosha said.

"You guess?"

"Yeah, I guess. As a researcher, you have to be precise with your words. It was my guess!" Ruosha declared proudly.
