Chapter 1252: Chapter 1000: Tricked!
Long Yi laughed at his own words, even he found Solis’s statement to be beyond belief. Born from consciousness itself and feeding on Divine Power—if even worms that were supposedly higher than gods in rank, wouldn’t that mean they were more advanced than humans?
Solis, of course, picked up on the mockery in Long Yi’s words. Being born from the consciousness of gods and feeding on Divine Power had always been the pride of the Divine Worms. But now, with Long Yi’s retort, they seemed no different from common parasites!
"I am great! We are beings that transcend gods! And you, lowly creature, wouldn’t understand!"
Boom! A terrifying burst of False Divine Power erupted, and Long Yi quickly raised his Divine Power, getting pushed back several kilometers in the air before coming to a stop.
"Hey, hey, can’t we be reasonable here? I was just stating a fact. You can’t just flip out just because you’re at a loss for words, right?" Long Yi shouted, his voice resonating with Mana.
"Roar—"
The Giant Monster roared, its mouth once again brewing a terrifying glow.
"Damn!"
Long Yi immediately teleported himself away, while the beam of light shot past where he had just been.
"The main cannon is fully charged." The voice of the intelligent interface rang in Long Yi’s ear as he had teleported himself onto the Great Explorer.
"Wait a second!" Long Yi ran to the position of the main cannon and injected his almost depleted Divine Power into it.
"It’s not much, but I hope it helps!"
"Fire!" Long Yi shouted.
Boom!
The super-powered main cannon fired immediately. Unlike the last time when it switched to super-powered mode en route, this time it entered super-powered mode from the start, further enhancing its might from before!
Seeing the main cannon of the Great Explorer firing, Solis was clearly wary after the previous shot, not daring to take any chances. Its False Divine Power and Mana combined to form a shield.
But the main cannon shattered the False Divine Power shield in one blast, hitting directly on the Mana shield.
The two sides entered into a primal clash of energy once more.
"Lingling! Report the status!" Long Yi called out in his mind.
At this moment, in the satellite orbiting above the planet, Lingling had transformed into a massive cannon mount, with a nearly hundred-meter-long crystal acting as the cannon body, surrounded by clusters of tiny crystals continuously supplying energy. Behind the cannon body lay only one of Lingling’s Crystal Cores. In front of the Crystal Core, a ring was continuously correcting its position, always locking the Giant Monster in the center.
"Lingling has completed charging, waiting for the firing order." Upon hearing Long Yi’s inquiry, Lingling immediately responded.
"Fire!" Long Yi commanded.

In the vacuum, a peculiar resonating sound wave of Mana formed, and a thin beam of light landed on the Giant Monster’s head, which seemed confused, as the beam appeared to do no harm. But in the next moment, a terrifying force descended from the heavens!
This was a product of Crystal Demon Technology, and specifically developed by the Empress Belle for Lingling—a Light Cannon! The Giant Monster had focused most of its energy to counter the Great Explorer’s main cannon. And yet Lingling’s shot, inheriting the destructive power of Demon Power, went straight through the Giant Monster’s head!
An explosion erupted from within the Giant Monster, and the excess Demon Power caused a delay in the monster’s internal energy flow. The slightest delay led to a failure in sustaining the shield’s energy, and the main cannon of the Great Explorer immediately broke through the monster’s shield, blasting the Giant Monster’s body in half at an angle!
Now is the time!
At that moment, the core of the Molten Beast hidden in the magma suddenly drew away all the heat, then fled into the distance. The magma, having lost its heat, naturally turned into incredibly solid rock, and the severed half of the Giant Monster’s body was entombed deep in the rocky ground!
Long Yi then summoned his Fine Gold clone, wielding a Greatsword designed for Giants, charging within a few steps to the side of the severely damaged half of the Giant Monster. He raised the Greatsword high above his head and then plunged it down with tremendous force!
No matter how strong the Giant Monster’s defense was, it could not withstand the sharpness of the Giant’s Greatsword, which pierced the Giant Monster’s skin immediately. The God Eater surged in with glee, swiftly shredding the numerous Divine Worms scattered within!
But Solis was not there, and the number of Divine Worms was nowhere near what he had anticipated!
Boom!
Rocks shattered, and the other half of the Giant Monster, now with a new head grown from where it had been severed, charged through the stone, towering even over the Fine Gold clone as it rushed towards Long Yi.
"Foolish giant! I’ve been waiting for you to show up! A half body was but a bait I fed you! And now, you belong to me!"
The immense body displayed terrifying explosive power, swallowing the Fine Gold clone whole!
And then, Long Yi was engulfed by endless darkness.
In the darkness, there was no sound or light. Long Yi moved his body and found himself floating in mid-air, unable to push off anything.
Shine spell!
Boom! A sphere of light burst forth, but it only lit up a small area around him.
"Hehehehe, poor giant, you are all alone now," Solis’s voice echoed, and at the same time, a red wave appeared before his eyes. It was a fragment of a Divine Worm, and it was also Solis.
"Look, I really don’t believe you can do anything to me." The Fine Gold clone of Long Yi was covered in dark golden electrical arcs—that was the God Eater. It was eager to feed on the delicious bugs all around it.
"God Eater, the most vicious spell among all of your Giant’s creations, and yet such a lowly life form. It’s a pity, though, it isn’t perfect," Solis chuckled, and in the darkness, countless red waves emerged, all of them fragments of the Divine Worms.
God Eater.
This name isn’t very pleasant-sounding—is it the true name of the Gluttonous Snake? What is this? A magic life form? Could it be something the Giants created to eat the gods?
"What, you thought you could scare me to death with a swarm of worms?" Long Yi suddenly raised his hand, and the Gluttonous Snake burst forth, sweeping away a worm, crunching, and swallowing it. Immediately, the surrounding Divine Worms distanced themselves from Long Yi, including the brightest one that represented Solis.
"Hey, you were pretty arrogant just now, why the sudden cowardice?" Long Yi laughed.
"It’s not cowardice; we just prefer to watch your last struggles from a safe distance," Solis said.
"Really? You plan on just watching me get scared to death? I’ll remind you that in my current state, waiting for me to die of starvation would take years, and a lot can happen in that time," Long Yi said.
"No, you’re wrong, Long Yi, we won’t let you die. A Giant with Divine Status, you are the perfect host for me. I will enter your consciousness, torment you until you submit and hand over control of your body," Solis said.
"It seems like you’ve forgotten what happened the last time you tried that," Long Yi said with a smile.
"This time is different," Solis said. "This time, I will be unprecedentedly powerful."
As he spoke, countless pieces of worms surged toward Solis, and that red fluctuation grew stronger as well. In the blink of an eye, that red light became as dazzling as a fixed star!
"Impressive display, but I really don’t believe you can do anything to me!" Long Yi, with dark golden arcs flowing over his body, stayed on guard.
"Indeed, I cannot break through the protection of your God Eater magic. However, there is something inside you that doesn’t belong to you!" Solis said with a cold, triumphant smile.
"What?" Long Yi tensed up a bit.
"That is the Divine Status!" Solis roared.
"Divine Status?" Long Yi’s eyes widened.
"Yes! Divine Status! I can feel the presence of that Divine Status! It does not belong to you! I can sense it belongs to a god! It will respond to my call from within you, bringing me into the depths of your consciousness, and your God Eater won’t see me at all!" Solis said.
Long Yi stopped talking, but his brows furrowed slightly.
Something seemed off.
All of Long Yi’s Divine Status had been handed over to Little Zi. The Divine Status currently within him had naturally emerged due to the power of faith, meaning it was actually his own Divine Status—fused with his soul. No matter what, this Divine Status definitely shouldn’t be calling for Solis.
Yet there was Solis, confidently stating his case, and combined with prior events...
Long Yi slowly raised his hand: "Let’s see, whether this is real or fake."
Then, a massive virus materialized in Long Yi’s hand.
Long Yi smiled.
"I have to admit, you nearly had me fooled. Unfortunately, your acting isn’t good enough, or rather, you were too hasty in leading me into the plot, causing you to make a mistake," Long Yi said.
Everything around him collapsed with a bang, the light returned to Long Yi’s eyes, and he was still inside the Power Core room of the Ancient Mage Tower!
"Not bad, you almost had me fooled," Long Yi said to the still human-shaped Solis in front of him, the smile on his face twisted.
"It doesn’t matter, I have already succeeded halfway!" Solis said, looking towards the Array next to him, where the remaining force of Mana proved that the spell had been cast, with part of the key to the Teleportation Gate in the Array’s center already melting.
"Damn it!"
Long Yi cursed out loud and lunged for the key, ignoring the waves of heat emanating from it, grabbed it, and stuffed it into his personal space.
Upon touching it, there was no Mana feedback from the key; clearly, it was damaged!
"You bastard! I’ll kill you!"
With a roar, Long Yi lunged at Solis. Solis stepped into the Teleportation Array and disappeared.
"Still playing games with me!?"
Long Yi struck back with a Gluttonous Snake and Zulal, momentarily confused, came to his senses just in time to see an explosion. That was Long Yi piercing through the decks of the Ancient Mage Tower and rushing to the top.
Boom!
Long Yi crashed heavily into the top floor of the Ancient Mage Tower while Solis was at the control panel, separating the entire top section.
"Come here to me!"
Boom!
The Cosmic Stone Greatsword cut with a destructive wave, actually severing the control panel in front of Solis in half.
"Hahaha, too late!"
As the tremors came from underfoot, the upper level of the Ancient Mage Tower had completely separated. (To be continued.
