Chapter 1155: Chapter 905 Consolidation of Position
After the Divine Armor team reinforcements arrived later on, all the forces from the Ancient Mage Tower had already left the area. The Divine Armor mages who had just exhausted their energy couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.
"Hey, brothers, are you all okay?" The commander of the reinforcement troops looked at the mess around him and asked.
"We’re fine, just took the opportunity during the battle to train the Divine Armor’s limit resistance, as Lord Long Yi specifically instructed. Although I don’t know what use it is, if it’s something that Lord Long Yi instructed, then naturally it must be significant, right?"
"Absolutely, absolutely!"
The injured Divine Armor warriors were somewhat disheartened, knowing that each Divine Armor that was damaged in battle would be properly repaired or even directly replaced with a new one. But the fact that their own shield burst first was truly embarrassing.
The commander quietly walked over and said, "Your performance this time was quite good, Lord Long Yi said that he could add custom kits to your Divine Armor."
The downcast soldier still had his head lowered, but his voice squeezed out from between his lips, "Don’t talk to me, I’m in the middle of brewing emotions!"
"Understood, perform well!"
When Long Yi eventually returned to The Divine Auffa Empire, the Ancient Mage Tower had long since departed. Little Zi and her avatars had been waiting here for Long Yi all along.
"I’m sorry, I still haven’t found where the Dragon Clan is, but I’ve tampered with his energy core, ensuring that every time the Ancient Mage Tower jumps, it will leave a trail of spider silk," Little Zi said.
"Any news from the front lines?"
"Not at the moment, but it’s about time."
Soon, news arrived from the front, where the Semi-Crazy Demons that this time came to the Ancient Mage Tower had gained some advantage under the leadership of some newcomers. They successfully drained the energy of some Divine Armor mages and even caused damage to some Divine Armors. If it weren’t for the arrival of the subsequent troops, the consequences might have been unimaginable.
All of this was certainly within Long Yi’s expectations, in fact, on one hand, he also intended to help Lyd Jon a bit, allowing him to comfortably take a stand within the Ancient Mage Tower. On the other hand, he wanted to use this opportunity to give the Divine Armor mages a little reminder.
After several battles, the arrogance of these Divine Armor mages was quite severe, presenting an attitude of being the unsurpassed number one in the world. This was not a good sign, so a slight setback was beneficial.
However, next, it should be Lyd Jon’s time to perform.
Inside the Ancient Mage Tower, Lyd Jon received a hero’s welcome, personally attended by Elma! This was the first case where Semi-Crazy Demons had prevailed over Divine Armor mages! Some commanders were not convinced, claiming that Lyd Jon had merely cheated and tricked his way through. But Elma simply said, "On the battlefield, killing your enemies and surviving yourself is what’s most important. After you win, no one cares about the means of victory."
With an outstanding victory, Lyd Jon immediately gained significant use. The most prominent evidence of this importance was Elma directly allocating a full thousand Black Crystal Mages to him!
"How to use them, when to use them, that’s for you to decide. I want to see victory!" These were Elma’s exact words.
However, at the time, Lyd Jon smiled and said, "You had better not expect victory too eagerly. Long Yi is a very smart man. It’s quite good for the same tactic to succeed once; I simply don’t believe those troops will fall for it a second time."
"Regardless, you are still much stronger than those men!" Elma said.
"To be honest, if it’s just dealing with Divine Armor mages, I don’t care at all, for even if they’re strong, they have limits. But as long as Long Yi is still around, I can never guarantee victory. And I don’t think you would bring the Ancient Mage Tower under Long Yi’s nose every time we fight." At this point, Lyd Jon suddenly looked at Elma and asked, "Didn’t Long Yi go berserk when he saw the Ancient Mage Tower?"
Elma smiled faintly, "That is none of your concern."
Zulal stood next to Elma, his heart pounding with fear. Because the light in Elma’s mind had turned to red, which was an expression of extreme anger. If Lyd Jon said anything more against Elma’s wishes, Zulal was quite worried that Elma would lose control and just kill Lyd Jon outright.
Fortunately, Lyd Jon promptly closed his mouth.
"Well then, I’m going to rest. Starting tomorrow, I’ll arrange for those Black Crystal Mages and Semi-Crazy Demon mages to train. At that time, I’ll need Master Elma to grant me access," Lyd Jon said.
"No need to find me tomorrow, I’ll give you permission now!" With a wave of Elma’s hand, Lyd Jon’s access was immediately elevated. The areas he could access expanded significantly.
"Phew..."
Leaving Elma’s study, Lyd Jon let out a breath of relief. Facing someone like her, it would be false to say he wasn’t nervous. But he managed his composure well, showing his own rebellious spirit without being too offensive.
"With this, should things be stable for now?" Lyd Jon said to himself.
As he was on his way back, he suddenly encountered a person who said to Lyd Jon, "Master Solis is looking for you, Mr. Lyd Jon." At this point, Lyd Jon held considerable authority, so the individual addressed him very politely.
"Master Solis?" Lyd Jon knew that Solis was also one of the elders of the Ancient Mage Tower and had once controlled Elma, almost taking the entire Ancient Mage Tower for himself. However, since Elma regained power with the help of Long Yi, Solis’s power was gradually emptied, and the number of people around him dwindled. Although Solis still appeared at the elder meetings, he no longer confronted others as aggressively as before, instead, he behaved and kept a low profile.
What could such a person want with him?
Lyd Jon followed the person to Solis’s study, and after the guest left, Solis cast a magic to scan Lyd Jon’s entire body, ensuring there were no abnormalities, before he finally spoke, "Has Master Long Yi brought me new orders?"
This question caught Lyd Jon off guard, realizing Long Yi’s reach had extended so far. It wasn’t just Zulal, but Solis too!
"I’m sorry to say no," Lyd Jon replied.
"Solis’s power is growing by the day, and I am gradually losing my position; there’s very little I can do now. I need Master Long Yi to show me the way!" Solis said painfully.
"I really can’t help with that, but if you’d like, I might be able to assist you," Lyd Jon said.
"You? No, your wisdom is not even one ten-thousandth of Master Long Yi’s; I don’t want to waste time on you, lower being," Solis said dismissively. Lyd Jon just smiled; he wasn’t quite sure what was going on with Solis. Had he gone mad?
"If you have no orders, then leave; your presence here is meaningless," Solis said.
So, Lyd Jon left, still smiling all the while.
Just as he had left not long before, Zulal hurried over and asked, "Did you visit Master Solis?"
Lyd Jon nodded and said, "Yes."
Zulal pondered for a moment, then spoke, "Though I don’t know what you discussed, I suspect it was something along the lines of recruitment. You’ve just come to our Ancient Mage Tower and are unfamiliar with how things work here. But let me advise you, keep a certain distance from Master Solis; it will be beneficial for your future and even your safety."
Lyd Jon nodded and said, "Thank you for your advice. I am well aware of whom I should serve, and I will never stand on the wrong side at any time."
Zulal smiled, "You are indeed someone I admire. Keep up the good work! Your future is boundless!"
A single war was enough for Lyd Jon to establish his position within the Ancient Mage Tower. This was Long Yi’s plan, to secure a foothold for Lyd Jon there. After all, whatever Elma’s plan might be, he needed someone to help him carry it out, and that person could only be Lyd Jon.
But Long Yi did not put all his chips on one person. As the saying goes, "One must be strong oneself to forge metal," a principle Long Yi well understood. Therefore, at the root of it all, it was still necessary to exchange an enhancement of his own strength for the suppression of the enemy.
That meant there was much Long Yi needed to do.
Enhancing the Divine Armor of the main forces was of utmost importance.
Frankly speaking, in the most recent battles, the Divine Armor troops had performed well. But they were far from achieving the kind of overwhelming victory Long Yi envisioned. In Long Yi’s mind, any victory that didn’t crush the enemy was hardly a victory at all. As a result, upon his return, he immediately set about making a series of adjustments to the Divine Armors based on the enemy’s recent performance.
The most crucial adjustment was to endow the Divine Armor troops with special properties.
This special property was crystal oscillation.
To tackle the Crazy Demons made of Crystal Poison, crystal oscillation was almost a perfect measure. Although each Crazy Demon was composed of crystals, their intrinsic frequencies were all different. Therefore, determining their intrinsic frequency in a short time and then emitting the same frequency to shatter them was a challenge. Only by shattering the surface crystals could one expose the Crystal Core of the Crazy Demon, allowing for the most efficient way to kill them. Long Yi had thought this would be easy, something his soldiers could handle without much trouble. However, almost none of the soldiers could accomplish it on their own, as they had never truly dealt with Crazy Demons. The few times they fought them were won by hard-fought battles using magic.
At this point, Long Yi realized an educational lesson about Crazy Demons was imperative.
Back in the Human Realm, due to the existence of spatial rifts, the understanding of Crazy Demons was quite profound, and they had even started to research the domestic use of Crazy Demon Crystal Cores. But in this Plane, even in the so-called most advanced Ancient Mage Tower, no one had truly understood the properties of these crystals; they simply used the Crazy Demons for battle.
But where would they get Crazy Demons now?
Make a few from Crystal Poison and some animals? That would hardly be realistic enough to serve the educational purpose. Use humans? Long Yi hadn’t lost his humanity to that extent—such anti-human actions were beyond him.
Just as Long Yi was worrying about what to use, "good news" arrived. The Ancient Mage Tower was dispatching troops once again!
This time, Long Yi quickly issued orders: all common soldiers were to stay put, and all officers were to gather quickly. This time, it was to be a teaching moment! (To be continued.
