Chapter 1144: Chapter 894 Amendment
At that moment, Long Yi was tall and slender, his complexion pale, and there was hardly any sparkle in his eyes. Dragon spores crowded around him, acting like pets vying for the attention of their master. Long Yi touched the spores unconsciously, his eyes seemingly looking towards something unseen.
Just then, Long Yi suddenly looked up, meeting Suolin’s gaze. He appeared startled at first, with confusion on his face. Then, with a sudden wave of his hand, countless dragon spores surged towards Suolin!
"Hold them back!" Jelly Willow shouted amidst the battle.
Members of the Dragon Clan immediately rushed forward, disregarding their lives in defense, and almost instantly, a dragon was engulfed by the spores, along with the Dragon Rider on its back, vanishing without a trace.
If the reality of Jelly Willow’s description had previously seemed somewhat abstract, it was now all too real for Suolin, who had witnessed everything with her own eyes. None of this was a lie; it was all profoundly true.
A fissure was opened, and the clogged front line of the dragon spores began to creep forward again, with casualties mounting rapidly!
In the sky, Giant Dragons were devoured one after another. For every Dragon lost, more spores emerged. On the ground, the spores writhed and crawled, seeking out every human survivor. People scattered, attacking the ferocious monsters with knives, sticks, and even rocks. But even the Dragon Breath proved hardly lethal to these creatures, let alone these ordinary attacks.
Humans were captured and devoured in quick succession, often without even a chance to scream.
"We can’t hold them!" a Dragon Rider shouted loudly. He was Jelly Willow’s lieutenant, and he and his Mount Dragon were already covered in wounds, not from the spores but inflicted by themselves. Because if touched by the spores, one had to quickly cut away all the flesh in the area before the spores spread through the body, for even Dragon Scales could not resist them.
"All the severely wounded, retreat immediately, and help Suolin charge up!" Those who can still fight, stay on the front lines, and buy us time!
Jelly Willow commanded.
Several Flying Dragons, gravely injured, returned at once, nearly collapsing beside Suolin. Then, they began to burn the last of their lives, transforming it into mana to feed into Suolin’s time travel device. Suolin immediately felt the speed of energy increase substantially!
One by one, dragons left the front line, burning their lives to provide mana for Suolin. The onslaught of the dragon spores also grew more rapid. Jelly Willow already wielded terrifyingly powerful magic, but the sheer number of spores made her spells seem as futile as scooping water from a lake with bare hands.
In the blink of an eye, the dragon spores were upon them. Only a few dozen dragons remained, desperately holding on. Jelly Willow kept casting attack magic and healing spells, and even though her vision began to darken, she persisted, knowing everything would end if Suolin failed.
Suddenly, a dragon spore unexpectedly split and sent a spore missile at Suolin from a tricky angle!
"Watch out!"
A bloodied Yake burst forth from the side, positioning himself in front of Suolin. The spore immediately extended countless tendrils into Yake’s body, beginning to devour his flesh!
"I’ve heard that in another world, I’m a complete scoundrel," Yake said weakly, "but at least let me be a hero this time!"
Yake took a device out of his personal space; it resembled a lantern.
"Life conversion!"
Boom!
A blaze erupted from within the lantern, swallowing both Yake and the spore on him in an instant. Immediately after, the lantern turned, injecting a fearsomely vast amount of energy straight into Suolin’s time travel device.
"Portable time travel device, charge complete. Please set the time." A voice prompting the instruction sounded in Suolin’s ear. She violently twisted the dial representing the years to the very beginning, then immediately activated the device.
At that moment, the dragon spores had completely engulfed the area!
"Boom!"
A great temporal tumult shredded everything around.
Thud!
Suolin hit the ground in an empty alley, the sun high above, with the cries of vendors occasionally reaching her ears.
Suolin pulled out a robe from her personal space to cover herself, then left the alley. The surroundings were unmistakably those of the Imperial City of the Red Dragon Empire!
"Did it work?"
Suolin asked herself.
She stopped a passerby to ask what year it was, but the person thought she was crazy and quickly ran away.
Then, she overheard some unemployed vagrants nearby saying, "Hey, did you hear? A few days ago, that city in the Black Dragon Empire was drenched in molten iron overnight! Now the whole city is scorching black iron!"
Another person said with disdain, "That’s all you know?"
The first, surprised to see his companions unimpressed, exclaimed, "What else do you know?"
The other raised his head high and laughed, "Ha, my brother was nearby when it happened, and he told me all about it! It was an enormous Demon Abyss Dragon! They say some foolhardy Mage from the Black Dragon Empire was messing with summoning spells! Hahaha!"
"My goodness, that Demon Abyss Dragon was incredible! To have doused an entire city in molten iron!"
"Yeah, Demon Abyss Dragon, I really wish I could see it with my own eyes; just the name tells you it’s an extraordinary dragon!"
At this moment, Suolin finally understood that she was at the exact time when the Black Dragon Tyl summoned the Demon Abyss Dragon. That meant Long Yi was nowhere to be found yet!
However, she knew where she needed to go to find Long Yi.
Long Yi had once precisely described how he first met what was named the Fine Gold Golem, which was none other than himself.
Suolin arrived at a deserted cavern on the outskirts and began to charge the time-traveling device once again.
After several journeys, she finally arrived at a suitable time and then found a Giant relic that the White Dragon Empire had not yet excavated. She sold the relic’s blueprint to a White Dragon Empire officer eager for wealth at a high price. Meanwhile, she hid within the relic, disguised herself as a statue, and fell into a deep slumber, only to be awakened by the Giant’s power possessed by Long Yi.
Dreams of unbearable battles flooded her sleep, scenes from that erroneous timeline.
Then, a familiar, gentle power of the Giant came forth, awakening Suolin.
Bang!
The stone shattered, and right in front of her was that familiar man.
"Fine Gold Golem, I awaken at your summoning. Are you my master?" Suolin said nervously, her heartbeat slightly quickening. Although she knew it was here that Long Yi and the Fine Gold Golem met, she had no idea what was said afterward and was afraid she might say something wrong that could once again alter history.
Long Yi across from her was clearly stunned, his eyes uncontrollably sweeping over certain places.
As expected, this guy had never been honest!
For some reason, Suolin felt a slight anger. Especially since the thought of Long Yi from the other timeline before her departure had infuriated her even more.
"Please, are you my master?" Suolin asked again, her tone slightly dissatisfied, but clearly, Long Yi didn’t catch on.
"Supposedly so?" Long Yi replied, seemingly without much confidence.
"Unable to confirm if you are the true master. Initiating a test to verify your identity," Suolin declared.
"A test? How do you verify?"
As Long Yi was still puzzled, a golden fist was already before his eyes!
Smack!
A fist landed squarely on Long Yi’s nose, and he felt his nose turn sour as blood began to flow.
"Damn it!" Long Yi was immediately incensed. It had been many years since he experienced the special treatment of getting battered in front of someone.
"I’ll fight you to the death!" Long Yi swung his fist up, and the sound of metal clashing echoed as his fist hit the Fine Gold Golem. Instead of the expected soft impact, the usual metallic clang sounded.
Damn it! That was solid fine gold!
This punch is for those who were destroyed by your hands, both people and dragons!
Suolin thought to herself.
Though the deeds haven’t been committed by you yet, that doesn’t matter. First, let the punches speak!
Thus, Suolin stayed in this timeline as the Fine Gold Golem, and soon enough, the war among the seven nations arrived. As she remembered, the White Dragon Empire left the Black Dragon Empire without incident, and the erroneous timeline had been corrected.
As everyone departed, Suolin took a serious look at Yake Black who was still enraged in the stands. In the wrong timeline, you are a good man, but sadly, the entire world had already fallen to ruin. So please, continue being a villain.
Within the erroneous timeline.
Jelly Willow fought on until the very end, thinking she was going to die there. Unexpectedly, although she had been infected by the Dragon-eating spores, she found everything around her freeze to a halt in the final moment!
Then, a massive clock suddenly appeared beneath her, a myriad of intricate gears meshing together. Then, an inexplicable force drove the hands to reverse crazily. Jelly Willow watched as the Dragon-eating spores that were invading her body reversed back, and the overwhelming spores disappeared, everything furiously moving backward. The sun rose from the west, set in the east, and destroyed buildings regenerated.
Boom!
The clock shattered, and Jelly Willow floated in mid-air, right above the Imperial City of the Red Dragon Empire. People bustled around, their faces brimming with smiles.
A few Red Dragons flew by, and upon seeing Jelly Willow, their riders saluted, "Greetings, Mrs. Prime Minister!"
Jelly Willow smiled and nodded, and the riders dispersed quickly.
"It seems you’ve succeeded after all," Jelly Willow said with a smile. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to support us with your votes at qidian.com. Your encouragement is my biggest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to continue reading.)
